Hi guys,I managed to grab some train tracks, The Dream Liner, A Factory Set, A Ferrari model, A few Exoforce sets, Technics Rough Terrain.......all for only RM600 plus. Most of the stuffs were 50% discounted. Not too bad...
I'm a newbie here, basically a Lego maniac and have been buying more than 30 sets in past 3 months. Have been following this interesting forum since then. So far I've been collecting anything Lego but my favourite is still Star Wars and huge Exo-Force robot.
Hehehe....I went to the Texchem sale as well last Friday (took my annual leave to attend it, reach there at 11:30am though it starts like 12:00pm) and like designer 69 said, it was crazy there. I managed to grab some Exo-Force and Knights Kingdom sets, realy cheap at 70% off in fact. Since the past few months of active shopping for Lego, I do have some guidelines for purchase as below:
1. For anything general and not a hot selling (such as Star Wars) items, wait for Texchem sale which I suspect will take place twice per year
2. For certain hot items but very costly and huge, just wait for any toy department or store sales i.e Isetan, Jusco or Toys R Us to clear their stock, you might be lucky to get more than 40% sale. I've got Star Destroyer 6211 from Isetan 2 months back for RM440 or so.
3. For exclusives or anything obsolete from the market then can visit Ultimate Toys or Brickboys. (if you don't mind paying premium or market rate)
I hope this buying guide will help, so that you could save RM1000 or so in 6 months time and grab the Lego in Texchem warehouse sale like mad....
