However I think you guys have a release/embargo date from Lego HQ, but quite unlikely since our Lego price is among the HIGHEST in the whole world

In Australia is costs AU 299.00 (the aussies are complaining the LAs are made out of gold ) =  RM 862.00
In UK it costs UKPounds 127.25 (the brits are complaining too) = RM 737.00
In Denmark is cost DK (Denmark Kronor) 1399.00.  = RM 943.00 (Will this be the price???@#?@! )

Well to be fair, part of the money from the taxes is going to the Legoland in Johor, as Khazanah is investing in the Legoland too. At least the taxes on Lego is put to good use! Maybe by then Lego price will drop? (yeah right, it will happen when I can buy a WRX STI and go out with Amber Chia/Megan Fox etc)

Overall, Lego is considered "premium" toy, no 2 ways about it. We are lucky we could get some of the sets here at all.

As for EU sponsoring the US, that is another undeniable fact the Europeans have to face. They say because of Megablocks and other clone bricks Lego have to lower their prices

Our local Lego distributor better sell the Summer 2009 sets which is not here yet real quick, as Amazon Germany has already listed the Lego Star Wars sets coming out in 2010 already

Got Lego Technic, Creator, Power Miners, Atlantis... the whole line of them apparently. 

I am eagerly waiting this set, dunno when will arrive. Even the guys at Brickboy are quite clueless when they will come. Estimated in 2 months time. Early part of the year I ask them the same question, around august or september, but I think the kontena still stuck in Denmark.

So I estimate it should be around RM 899 or 950 MAX. When Brickboy say it will be about RM 1050.00 I nearly pengsan that day I ask Note that the price shall be BEFORE ANY DISCOUNT WHATSOEVER!

More price comparisons can be done by going to shop at home and selecting Denmark as your country. Our prices seem to tally with those from Denmark, so it is a good indicator as to who much we need to pay for.

That is what I was thinking when I am planning to get the 8258. I have a friend in Singapore where I can actually ask him to do like what you said. Open everything, put in 1 container, maybe ask him to built it (to give the 2nd hand look), dissemble and when he come back can pass to me. But since I cannot wait for it to arrive and do not want to burden him I might as well buy it here.

Republic Gunship there only costs SING 199.90. Even if our currency is F@#@@# up at RM 3= SING 1 it is still CHEAPER
