Wah, no more already ahh? rclxub.gif I must have bought the last few from there.  sweat.gif

Medieval Market Village selling for RM 649.90 for 1601 pieces is pretty cheap considering it works out to be about 40 cents per piece.  thumbup.gif

Yeap, you can get it from my store. Limited stock... :-s

Walauehh, you got the AT-OT with Dropship?!@ sweat.gif Quite exclusive that set.

As for SP3, well almost everyone in Europe and US got theirs. Sini bayang pun tak nampak sweat.gif

Not only SP3, the new Creator Vehicle transporter also not here yet.

I can't think of how long I have to wait for 8258 to come, as only now it is slowly being distributed in the States and EU.

Errm... actually got few more contenna not yet unpack.

August coming some more.

Would keep you posted if got 8258....

Thanks tswern. I am looking around for the cheapest price for 8258 when it comes out, hopefully it is not as expensive as I hope it will be sweat.gif

A few more contena not yet unpack? no wonder we get everything so late, the SP3 sets are all stuck!  doh.gif  I hope you guys are not waiting for price increase then only release the sets. However I think you guys have a release/embargo date from Lego HQ, but quite unlikely since our Lego price is among the HIGHEST in the whole world doh.gif

Just to let you know,
In US 8258 cost USD 150.00 = Rm 529.00
In Australia is costs AU 299.00 (the aussies are complaining the LAs are made out of gold doh.gif ) =  RM 862.00
In UK it costs UKPounds 127.25 (the brits are complaining too) = RM 737.00
In Denmark is cost DK (Denmark Kronor) 1399.00.  = RM 943.00 (Will this be the price???@#?@! rclxub.gif )

source: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...ic=22204&st=135 and Lego Shop at Home

For the Telescopic Handler 8295,
In US it costs US 89.99 = RM 317.00
In Aussie : AUD 129.99 = Rm 375.00
In UK : GBP 61.65 = RM 357.89
In Denmark it cost DK 849.00 = RM 572.62
Local M'sian price = RM 499.00.

Hmm..

1) Australia, UK and US have their own local LEGO company in each of the country, hence products are direct from LEGO. For example, in US, it is LEGO --> Retailer. In M'sia, it is LEGO --> Distributor --> Retailer.
2) Understand from distro taxes on LEGO products pretty heavy... (You know what to do, change to gomen lar) vmad.gif
3) I suppose if we compare with countries (that does not have a LEGO company "branch"), for example, like Thailand, M'sian LEGO relatively cheaper?
4) While I have no comment on the SW line of products sweat.gif , but I find that most of the other themes such as CITY.Castle etc are similar to that in Sg.

rgds.

Well to be fair, part of the money from the taxes is going to the Legoland in Johor, as Khazanah is investing in the Legoland too. At least the taxes on Lego is put to good use! Maybe by then Lego price will drop? (yeah right, it will happen when I can buy a WRX STI and go out with Amber Chia/Megan Fox etc)

Overall, Lego is considered "premium" toy, no 2 ways about it. We are lucky we could get some of the sets here at all.

As for EU sponsoring the US, that is another undeniable fact the Europeans have to face. They say because of Megablocks and other clone bricks Lego have to lower their prices wink.gif
*
Taxes put into good use.... HHMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Europe, i think they are more crazy about playmobil than Megablocks or other clone bricks.

If you check, you would notice the themes are almost similar. doh.gif

Hold stocks? Nolar... prices are fixed by LEGO Group & Distro. Hold or no hold no difference. Would rather get it ASAP.

As far as distro is concern, I think -- the faster they clear old stock, the more new stuff they can bring in.

Our local Lego distributor better sell the Summer 2009 sets which is not here yet real quick, as Amazon Germany has already listed the Lego Star Wars sets coming out in 2010 already shocking.gif

8084 Lego Snow trooper Battlepack
8085 Lego Freeco Speeder
8083 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack
8086 Droid Tri-fighter (rumoured to be the 3 legged walking droid)

Other sets include a Tie Defender, Arc-170 fighter and Luke's landspeeder.

Now if you think that's all, there are even 2010 City (number 7###) and Duplo (number 3###) sets! rclxub.gif

Lego 7684 - City-enclosure piglets with tractor (Ferkel means "pig", Gehege should mean "corral")
Lego 7206 - City Fire Department helicopter
Lego 3178 - City seaplane
Lego 3177 - City city runabouts
Lego 3179 - City car repair
Lego 7213 - City fire fighting truck with boat
Lego 3182 - City Big Airport
Lego 3180 - City tank truck
Lego 7207 - City Fire Department Boat
Lego 7208 - City Big Fire Department Station

From here : http://www.amazon.de/s/qid=1250000181/ref=...ity%3A-2&page=4 Will need google translator though. German > English

Got Lego Technic, Creator, Power Miners, Atlantis... the whole line of them apparentlydoh.gif

Hmmm, must check with them whether the stocks have arrived. I would prefer the castle theme ones arrive here first tongue.gif

I am eagerly waiting this set, dunno when will arrive. Even the guys at Brickboy are quite clueless when they will come. Estimated in 2 months time. Early part of the year I ask them the same question, around august or september, but I think the kontena still stuck in Denmark.  doh.gif

For price, based on prices all over the whole:-

In US 8258 cost USD 150.00 = Rm 529.00
In Australia is costs AU 299.00 (the aussies are complaining the LAs are made out of gold doh.gif ) = RM 862.00
In UK it costs UKPounds 127.25 (the brits are complaining too) = RM 737.00
In Denmark is cost DK (Denmark Kronor) 1399.00. = RM 944.00

source: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...ic=22204&st=135 and Lego Shop at Home

So I estimate it should be around RM 899 or 950 MAX. When Brickboy say it will be about RM 1050.00 I nearly pengsan that day I ask rclxub.gif Note that the price shall be BEFORE ANY DISCOUNT WHATSOEVER!

Some price comparison with other stuff currently sold:-
Venator class cruiser biggrin.gifK 1199.00 = RM 809.00; RM 750.00 here (kudos to our local guys for not bumping up the cost to RM 799.00)
Midi-scale Millenium Falcon = DK 349.00 = RM 235.00; RM 210.90 (dunno why, Star Wars stuff seems cheaper this time)
Truck Garage 7642 = DK 699.00 = RM 472.00; RM 479.00 here (rounded up to RM 480.00???)
City Corner (the one with the yellow bus) = DK 429.00 = RM 289.00; RM 299.00 here (rounded up to RM 300!!@#@!?)
Red Sports car = DK 69.95 = RM 47.21; RM 44.90 (whew, I thought they would round up to RM 50 sweat.gif )
Front Loader 8265 = DK 699.00 = RM 472.00; so our estimated price should be RM 460-480.00

More price comparisons can be done by going to shop at home and selecting Denmark as your country. Our prices seem to tally with those from Denmark, so it is a good indicator as to who much we need to pay for.

I'm thinking of launching a LEGO Malaysia online community soon, perhaps, with the support of tthe local distro and of course AFOL in Malaysia.

Just met up with the distro 2 days back. A brickfest (MOC competition for the uninitiated) is being planned down the pipeline, somewhere between 2010-2012. Since LEGO land is slated to launch by 2012, the finals would be held there.

Had suggested the winner to be sent to LEGO Billund Denmark factory for a tour. Lets see how it goes. thumbup.gif

Since this upcoming brickfest mainly involves MOC stuff, sure hope AFOL in Malaysia would start sharing your creationsl

Oh ya...we would be pitting our best creations against teams from either South East Asia or Asiapac. So in short, we need to start unearthing our hidden Malaysian talents!

Suggestions and most importantly, PARTICIPATION welcome.

Would keep you guys posted. biggrin.gif

Well... if you are a of some of the retails shops or the brickbastion.com, you do get some discounts.

Anyway, SG is around RM810 .. EVEN when they get the stocks DIRECT from LEGO. Not to mention the additional TAXES imposed by our wonderful Kerajaan on LEGO products here.

That is what I was thinking when I am planning to get the 8258. I have a friend in Singapore where I can actually ask him to do like what you said. Open everything, put in 1 container, maybe ask him to built it (to give the 2nd hand look), dissemble and when he come back can pass to me. But since I cannot wait for it to arrive and do not want to burden him I might as well buy it here.

Republic Gunship there only costs SING 199.90. Even if our currency is F@#@@# up at RM 3= SING 1 it is still CHEAPER doh.gif

Should I migrate to Singapore ?  tongue.gif
*
To put things in perspective:

RGS cost SGD299.90, official list price.

At an exchange rate of 3, it would cost RM 899.7
At an exchange rate of 2.4, it would cost RM719.76

The Malaysian Price is RM799.90. Throw in a 10% off for members of retail stores, it comes to about RM719.

Due to the item ready to be phased out and they have a surplus of unsold stocks (singapore population not THAT big..lol), some of the retail shops, especially online ones set the price at SGD199.90.
Its similiar to the situation whereby the items such as some of the sets being sold at huge discounts during warehouse sales.

Now lets randomly pick a SW set. Take the new battle of endor set 8038.

The retail price in SG is SGD219.90

Going by an exchange rate of 3 would be: RM659.7
Going by an exchange rate of 2.4 would be: RM527.76
Malaysian retail price is: RM559.90

I see a narrower gap in terms of price. Again, bear in mind that Singapore stocks are DIRECT from TLG....

What is TLG?
TLG = The LEGO Group smile.gif

The time spent alone costs much much more than the price difference. Not to mention the anxiety.

Besides, some people (like myself) only like sets that are in REALLY mint condition. How can sampai hati open them up and transport them all the way from SG (then worry whether got missing/misplaced parts or packs since box open), with the burden of being hantam by customs hanging over ones head?

Definately not worth getting from Singapore. ESPECIALLY this set.
