Thanks man!

Yup! From there. Hehe!

You have this set already? Why you dint get it??

I am a slow starter...slowly will built up those old SW sets : )

Next target....7666!!
*
I do not have the set, but I do have some Star Wars set including the ARC-170 fighter which I bought some years back. Last time when it came out I was only a student, so cannot afford tongue.gif

Guys, we all need work together to create our own LEGO community and of course need to be active. Join Bricksmal forum and start posting so that later we can held some activities once there is enough member or else there will be nothing at all.

A few pictorial reviews have been posted up in the community. So join Bricksmal and read it.  tongue.gif
Might be helpful in your decision of buying which set.

I'm with ilfort, we need to be more active so that we can have more activities. Like the HWC M'sia (Hot wheel club malaysia), they have activities as well as competitions with prizes courtesy of mattel.

@ limshyueyang, maybe you can post the review of your pod-racer set there icon_idea.gif

Look at the short cable, the metal wire is exposed due to the rubber disintegrate by itself. You can also see the cable like turn white spots.

I store in cool and dry place, don't know why like water stain marks.

Wow... that look bad. The silver thingy is it the wire or just a shield? Erm, nothing much can be done, the brick is holding on to the rubber insulation, unless we cut and reposition the rubber, it won't hold... sad.gif

bro, how come i see the name wabra on the box and paul on the set after it has been assembled? we can make our own name on the sticker isit?
*
The name "wabra" appears on the box since the designer of this set is named Uwe Wabra. In fact there are 9 other random names to choose from the massive sticker sheet.

user posted image

Also if you noticed the wording on some of the stickers "UW Lifting Services", that is basically Mr. Wabra's own lifting company icon_idea.gif

Silver thing is wire. Something like 5-core twisted double pair. I can see the brick consists of two piece held together by 4 notches. But don't know the proper way to pry it open and swap with some cables from Pasar Road.

Else, have to buy online, as Lego Mindstorms don't sell spare parts in MY/SG. sad.gif

I finished by Crane Truck yesterday. Took me about 8 hours to finish it sweat.gif Also due to using msn at the same time haha.

Anyway, the box for this set is HUGE. But not as huge as the motorised bulldozer. Sizes in relation to 8448 and dozer. Same width and thickness as 8448, but the higher. The height is the same as the motorised dozer.
user posted image

When you open the flap, there is a huge picture of the set showing the size of the truck with its functions. As you can see, it is almost 1:1 scale in the flap as shown by the tires I placed.
user posted image

Something I noticed inside the box, a little smiley face chop! From where I wonder? whistling.gif
user posted image

Before starting a set this size it is important that one sort out all the pieces to minimize time used for looking for that darn 1x1 piece. At 1877 parts, it occupies the entire table! Not show are the 8 rubber tires where I placed them on another table before I took this shot. There is ALOT of technic pegs, ALOT of technic cross-axles and ALOT of gears.
user posted image

The power function parts in the set; battery box, pole reverser, XL motor and 2 linear actuators.
user posted image

After completing it, I placed them next to my other Technic giants. The truck is the thinnest of the lot, but it is the longest.

Size comparison with leader class prime and gang

Comparison between power miner thunder driller. Definitely not minifigure scale!

Also, what do Legomen play during their free time? With a motorised bulldozer of course!

P.S: That is a Tomica Komatsu Bulldozer

8 hours to finish, that is like 1 pay day for work. Anyways, great job there. Make sure you keep it in sealed glass cabinet to avoid dust accumulating. If accumulates, have fun cleaning!!

Care to share with us what you mean by good technic sets? tongue.gif

If you are looking for the sets like the yellow hauler, telescopic handler and other smaller technics, almost all the TRUs and some of the department stores have it.

However if you are looking for the latest and large ones like my 8258 Crane Truck or Wheel loader then either check out Brickbastion (got my crane truck from there) or Brickboy. Other sets like Giant Tow Truck or motorised Bulldozer since it is no longer in production is a little harder to find or cannot find at all.

I currently do not have a glass cabinet to store it. Every week have to dust it. Oh, I understand what you mean by having fun cleaning it, since my 8448 supercar has a thick layer of dust on it!! blink.gif

I have motorised my Crane Truck with the IR receiver, XL motor and Medium motor. Here are some of my videos of my crane truck after motorizing.

Driving the crane truck

Controlling the crane and outriggers movement with IR remote. Since I do not have a spare IR receiver, I had to use the same IR receiver as the steering and driving. Had to replace 1 of the connections to the pole reverser.
