The new update from Samsung for non G model is horrible!  vmad.gif
I just finished charging my phone and after 1 hour of not using it, it's now only 10% battery left and they ask to connect the  charger. When it was on GB, I could use my PC to charge while my phone was on wifi and when I'm online on my phone. Now, the battery drains so fast when I use my PC to charge and when my phone is on standby mode.  mad.gif

Have u tried checking for wakelocks in BBS?

Here's some screenshots of my battery usage on hydrogenics smile.gif with a few extra chage cycles, this can beat sammy stock ics screen on time for sure.

Also, on sammy roms, if u UC to 1 ghz, you can notice some jittery animations sometimes, but on hydrogenics, UC to 1ghz no problem at all, its even smoother than sammy 1.2ghz ics in my opinion nod.gif

3 hour and 22 mins only, i am not impressed  yawn.gif what were you doing while the screen is on?
*
Could have gotten four hours if it werent for 7% batt drain in standby at the back of the graph. Mostly web browsing. This is better than what i get on sammy ics roms

the left side first part, you didnt screen on, your awake not so much but it still dipped like that, so you have some wakelocks problems, maybe kernel wakelocks. the other near horizontal parts of the graph also, shouldnt be that steep wan. if you can make it quite horizontal, then you powah ad. btw you not using battery saving apps to turn off your data right? could be reason why it dips like that.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...e=search_result

this app can show you how much mAh you used

if you dont touch your phone and every 30 mins the usaged is 5-10mAh then the battery life is very very good.

Added on March 28, 2012, 8:38 pm
yep correct. no need, wipe dalvik is good enough. kernel no need hassle like turbkey

Added on March 28, 2012, 8:41 pm
safely disconnect it like pendrive, will appear wan, when you choose you can see android or samsung something, then you just click safely remove la. will corrupt if you really unlucky, happened to me before, true story

Ok will check it out thanks! smile.gif

I have to say cm9 standby time is not as great as gb but when in use it really does not drain alot at all. I really like the smoothness of cm9 and camera no shutter lag. At least i dun notice any.
*
hmm.gif hydrogenics seems beter than old GB combo, only drains about 2% overnight no data on. I usually get like 5% overnight on GB. Never got the magical 0% batt drain overnight you managed to get on GB sweat.gif

Thats a problem with iOS, its very restricted, being controlled by Apple. With android, there's tons of customizability options, thats why i chose android nod.gif

At the end of the day, it all depends on user preference.
Whether the user wants simplicity of iOS or the flexibility of android

finally, cm9 mode activated...but got a few thinggy:

1-cannot set camera storage to memory card instead of phone storage
2-still trying to find how to decrease the vibration intensity each time i press the screen.

a brilliant rom!!

but make sure you guys have enough time to flash it. coz it will definitely consume a lot of your time to customize everything!! enjoy..
*
No option to reduce vibration intensity sad.gif too intensive in my opinion, in the end i just disable vibration biggrin.gif

yup, there's some other small thinggy that need to be sort out by the cm9 team.

i'm searching other kernel for cm9 and i noticed that only siyah kernel is compatible with cm9. but the latest one doesn't support MTP feature which is not good!!

hmm..
*
You can maybe try finding netchip kernel, comes with my hydrogenics, its pretty good. Ondemand/200mhz-1ghz is as smooth as sammy roms on 1.2ghz

Guys I've just acquired a SGS 2 from my friend and Im looking to flashing it to a rom that's stable and fast. Thinking of the new ICS release.

Currently the phone has been flashed to an earlier version of ICS, and it is not stable. Keeps freezing and rebooting randomly.

Coming from the Motorola camp, it really is different how things get done. Im having trouble following the steps in XDA-developer as it is not detailed enough if i compare it to youtube vids.

Anyone has a clear step by step direction on a how-to?
*
It should be pretty simple, download latest ICS(LP3 or LP7 if u want region firmware) from intratech thread, put phone into download mode, connect to pc, open up odin, press pda and select the file after u unzipped it, make sure its .tar or .tar.md5, then click start smile.gif

yo, i've extracted the Zimage from the custom kernel i used to root my wife's I9100G. do i need to flash it via CWM>>Mounts and storage>>mount /efs?

is this correct? i don't want to use odin any more though.

last time i did this is for my i9100, which is easier that G version.

Thanks Mate. What about the kernal and modem file. do I have to add that into Odin? and what about PIT files?

I've got 2 files in my downloaded package (from XDA)
- I9100XWLP3_I9100O2ULP4_I9100XXLPR_HOME.tar
- SS_DL.dll
*
No need to add PIT files, just click PDA and select the I9100XWLP3_I9100O2ULP4_I9100XXLPR_HOME.tar file, then click start. Modem is already included in tar file, im not sure about kernel, after u flash that, check settings if its LP3 kernel, if it isnt, just download the kernel from intratech thread and flash in Odin, same instructions smile.gif

rom, can feel the difference visually,
but kernal how to feel? rclxub.gif

I think siyah would be a better choice, since gokhanmoral did add some tweaks.

Just a random thought, smartphone makers should not design a smartphone that has a thin profile.
Because no matter how thin it is, most users will still make it thick by applying a case on the phone.
*
They should make their phones more scratch resistant and drop proof if they ever want users to stop users to use case

Should make it like HTC One S then. The unibody case is 3 times stronger than stainless steel !!!

Looks interesting, but stronger does not necessarily mean more scratch proof

HTC One X has no external memory card slot. This is a significant setback for most people.
Many people will not buy it... I think smile.gif

For average users, its definitely enough, for techies, highly dont think so. I consider myself as a middle guy, so 32gb is enough. I wish they made 16,32 and 64gb versions like apple does

Its ironic how gnexus is suppose to be dev phone can modify like hell but limited by its small 16gb storage doh.gif
