QUOTE(kurtkantoi @ Jul 3 2012, 09:36 AM) Thanks brotan. btw to clarifyI have one question. My credit card A has statement balance at RM2000. I plan to do balance transfer RM1000 to credit card B. Suddenly two days after apply for balance transfer, my wife paid full credit card A statement (RM2000). Will credit card B still accept the balance transfer? the RM 1000 is you ask cc B to pay cc A or vice versa? |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jul 5 2012, 08:50 AM) Good question, can we get the banks to credit extra amount paid into our banking account(s)? I know previously another member mentioned CB initially refused to pay him the cash back he earned showing as credit in his statement when he terminated his card; only after he complained to BNM did CB sent him the cheque. broMost card issuers will need your current Statement showing amount Outstanding when processing your BT application. So if you got no Outstanding Balance, I doubt they will approve your BT application. Having said that, some banks do allow you to do BT and bank in cash into your account without any Outstanding Balance on your credit card but it is no 0% and more like Personal Loans. Click below link to read my article: Hong Leong Bank Credit Cards - What Are They Good For? And Bro, if you do manage to get the bank to credit into your banking account, please share. I know for sure PBB do not need any statement for BT. a few times i BT 3k although my statement balance is like 1k ++ and they reason i BT 3k is becuz of the 0% installment min limit but BT 16k that is excessive. I am pretty sure even PBB will reject This post has been edited by brotan: Jul 5 2012, 09:09 AM |

Survey reveals many Malaysians do not settle their debts in full each month
Guys, When performing BT, pls be responsible and pay up your statement balance on time all the time BT is a double edge sword. It can help you save a lot of interest but at the same time if not managed properly, it will kill you faster than those who don't do BT |

QUOTE(boonykun @ Jul 17 2012, 02:57 PM) For Citibank's BT, previously warned by Ronnie and hye where it's Tricky... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Since that time i have around 5.5k++ on Citibank's C.C. account... I've opted to that time's Promo.. that is 0% interest for 6 Months, but as subject to how the T&C stated.. no idea on how it cuts my "total" spendings. after 1 month applied that BT, it directly cuts 3k out from my 5.5k Extra balance on the C.C. Will take a pic and show it.. and after i called the "Customer careline", they mentioned that your BT has cleared out due to the "Funds" within the Extra limit is enough to clear out directly... So... |

QUOTE(zenhai88 @ Jul 20 2012, 08:45 AM) I have successfully done the BT and cash out the money due to overpaid, negative balance in CC. btw, bro, what is the plan for the RM 20k being cashed out? Buy expensive stuff, invest, put in FD, put in your flexi house loan acc and won't touch it, ....? Added on July 20, 2012, 8:57 am I manage to credit back to my saving account of RM 8000 with BT (PBB > MBB). I am thinking to another way to delay my monthly installment. For example, in simple way: 1. Bank A BT to Bank B for RM 10K for 12 months, now I owe Bank B. Cash out the 10K from Bank A due to overpaid. 2. Within 1 month & 20 days, perform another BT from Bank B to Bank C for 10K, 12 months. Now Bank B would have overpaid because the previous 10K have not billed yet, only the 1st month installment. Conclusion, you are able to delay (2 months and 40 days) to pay the installment and cash out the 10K at the beginning. Of course you can perform more BT in such way, provided you have a lot more CC and Credit Limit. (Assumption: Zero charges for the BT plan) remember that no matter what you still have to pay back the BT you owe and another thing. most banks i know need the credit card statement to do BT. Only a few allow BT without any statement |
