How did you come to know abt the termite infestation? Also what were the steps taken to eliminate them?
*
I did reno when I took over the unit, contractor noticed termites when dismantle the old wardrobe. They got rid of it and did some preventive measures by spraying some poison as well as treated wood.

amazed of what you have done with your condo renovation. very cosy, and resort style. 120k well spent!
*
Thanks! We wanted a lasting design that can look good for years, resort style it is. Have a new unit coming next year, cracking my head what to do with it, not sure if I should bring the same design over.

absollutely love your windows. I was thinking of the same thing. possible to share where you got them from and the pricing please ?
*
Window was done by main contractor so I have no idea where he get it from. Dimension 156" x 78" (material: aluminum - epoxy with wood grain) RM 7800.00, this price was 6 yrs ago.

A search in Google under "Malaysia's folding window manufacturer" will give you some results.

Hmmm....my place is very near Dewan Bahasa, 5 mins walk from Maharajalela monorail station. It's either you hunt for your ideal home or find a good location then put in effort and money to reno & furnish it.

Im looking place which is near cheras. but cant find any idea place. is too expensive as for now... saw one condo near permaisuri is almost 500. when i want to buy it, the seller raise to over 500...
*
Prices of properties had gone up tremendously over the last few years. You just have to look harder or perhaps find location that is not too far away.

Do you mind to share price as well?
*
My reno was done 5 years ago thus pricing won't be accurate. Please check latest pricing with them. Pricing very much depending on materials and what sort of lock set you chose. I've installed a total of 6 frames and doors, price come out to 8.8K, lock set for main door cost 1.5K.

* 6 x Nyatoh door - 240.00 per door

The rest of the cost are frames, hinges, 5 x lock sets @ RM100.00 each for bedrooms and toilet doors, varnishing, skirting for frames and installation.

No worries. I suggest you look at aluminum door frame, my neighbor just it installed, strong in terms of security and better in long run because not prone to termites attack.

I'm looking into steel/alumn door frame as well. The frame itself is around RM60~100, yet I cant find any installer with good price yet. 3 of them quoted me a very ridiculous price RM400~600 just for installation.  blink.gif
*
Ya, that's the problem. A door by itself is usually affordable until you factor in other things that has to go with it. I was taken by surprise when I made my purchase, mine have to be replaced due to the extent of termite damage therefore no other choice but to part with my money.

Happy hunting.

Bro, several months had past, have you installed your Aluminium frame yet? If yes please let me know the contact, my new unit will be ready end of this year, another big Reno project will be taking place. Have to start doing homework again. This time round I may opt for Industrial concept, cement screed flooring, expose conduit pipes for wiring, pairing with rustic furnitures.

With 1457 sq ft of space, I must be thorough with this planning.

It is a condo /apartment unit right?

Mind sharing the sq ft?
*
It's a condo, build up around 1067 sq ft. 2 kitchen's wall had been hacked by previous owner. Without those walls, it definitely makes the place looks much bigger.

Looks very spacious for 1067 sqft. Very nice classic design.

Thanks Bro. My neighbor upstairs with the same build-up happened to drop by, they were pleasantly surprised the spaciousness compared to their unit (No hacking of wall), the husband ask me if we had the same layout.. laugh.gif

Hi bro, nice house u have there. Can u share with me the contractor contact as well? Do they provide ID service as well?
*
Bro, sadly the contractor no longer contactable. I designed it on my own through research and ID magazine. The reno was already 6-7 years old. In terms of design, better to choose long lasting concept such as resort or Balinese style. Our unit still looking good after all these years.
