err, if u plan to use the version 6 map, better use the latest 1, which is 6.27, not 6.12.....

one question, how to u plan to carry out the 96 teams early matches? group matches or single elimination?

but i think kinda hard to get 96 team , honestly, even the zonex competition didnt manage to get 64 teams to join, and their prize money is RM5000.....

somemore u plan to use the vers 6 map, then will be even less team that gonna join d.....( dun flame me, but is a fact that most teams still play 5.84c )

Registration fees if RM 100 per team.
Map might be change from 5.84c to 6.12.
Champion prize do might be change from RM 3000 to RM 5000.
I'll reconsider all this matter and REPOST again the new and final tourney by thins weekend.

Ya, no doubt most of the people is still playing 5.84c. But there are alots of people outside is changing now and upgrading themself to version 6.xx.
96 teams is the max. But the match will still carry on if achive 64 teams.
I knew bout zonex competition. it's only 5o++ teams tat take part.
anyway, i open up until 96 teams is juz to expose our tourney to all over malaysia bcoz our cc is juz a mth old. in the mean while can be said it sumthing like advertised our cc that born in sg long.
Well, it'll be all single elimination game except for Quater, Semi & Final. this 3 stage will be BEST OF 3 games.
Anyhow, is there any different between 6.12 and 6.27?

yes of course, 6.27b has new hero, lots of tweaks and balance changes compared to 6.12b, and it is the latest stable version, so you should use 6.27b

As you said so version 6.27 is the best, then why there are still people outside playing 5.84c? infact it's still the hottest map outside.

if i really use 6.27, wat happen if there is no turn out for challenger?
then change again to other map during competitionday?

me from cybertime... our cc now still having 5.84c tournament.....coz most of the cyber cafe still playing 5.84c...we still got contact to the others cc team....most team still traning 5.84c maps...so we request ur cc can use 5.84c map..
most us jsut coming back the zone-X tournament ..not many team got traning on 6.27b...

but i have alot's of feedback that 6.12 is an excellent choice to be compare wif 5.84c. so i'm still in considering stage. anyhow, i'll make d decision by this weekend. probably i'll have d first tourney of using 6.12 instead of 5.84c. try to upgrade abit ma..... then they might be a possibility that a new champ will be crown rather than the great team will remain their title... am i rite saying this?

I'd advise against using ver 6.12 for the reason that online players don't usually play this version..

The feedback you got that 6.12 is an excellent choice would be true in July 2005 but it is no longer true in December 2005..

If you are going to use a 6xx series map then please go with the recommended tournament version which is the 6.19B or the latest 6.27B..


Otherwise stick to 5.84C or better use 5.84D (as this is a fixed-up version of 5.84C)

My opinion only...

Regarding the DotA version, either stick with 5.84c or 6.27b. There's no point to play v6.12 since it has been changed and tweaked numerous times due to balancing and bugs issues.

6.12 --> 6.27b You already can think how many changes they've made.

Bro you only have 3 choices lar:-

1. Version 5.84c/d (More elite players):-
- Most malaysians play this map. Bad point is there's a group of people who refuses to play this map coz of support for newer map versions. Also i think most people already know who are the people who will probably win the tourney.

2. Version 6.19b
- Good point is this map is one of the more stabler versions. basically i think if i'm the organiser wouldn't really wanna go use this map reason is becoz this map is neither here nor there. In other words ask yourself this question... you want to attract elite players or new team testing out their tactics?

3. VErsion 6.27b or Latest Version ( more teams testing out new tactics)
- good plus point for using this map is becoz it's new, here are a lot of untested tactics out there.
- You need to set a dateline to decide the latest version
- bad point is lots of bugs might still exist. So you will need more experience Dota Marshals around and make it very clear in your instructions what is considered as bug abuse and what is not.

i think u should use 6.27b ... stick with it even though new version come out .. as team need to train and develop tactic ... hard to train if the version keep of changing .... 96 teams ar .. i think hard to get so many teams ... but maybe .. maybe got ppl interested since new map /// new chances of winnning liaw ..

e.g.did u all ever saw meta hero in ver5 tourney? and ver5 got unbalanced morphling and medusa..

For you info... Tomolo nite got a touney which is 6.27b...
it is about 20 Teams joined...

As much as I support v6, I would have to say 5.84c is still the way to go unless players themselves wish to change. And to those who diss 5.84c so much, there is something about 5.84c ( not the bugs or imbaness ) that definately cannot be achieved by IceFrog. Maybe it is the terrain, or simplicity of the recipes or something. I just don't feel it to be the same.
I believe 5.84c will definately attract more people by a big margin. Somehow I think even by changing to v6, those ' supporters ' won't really join. 5.84c top clan players can adapt within a week just adjusting to the slight changes ( no TS, Bone nerf, Medusa nerf, etc ). This is my opinion throughout all my years of WC3/DotA and marshalling.
However sooner or later the switch must be done =/.

my area cc recent tourney using 6.12b. jz finished a week ago. according to the boss, he will held dota tourney every 3 month with the LATEST dota map.

but..... 6.27 how balance also no use la now msia 80%ppl is playing 5.84c/d if u tourny map is 6.27 then mayb juz got 3x team++ register only

finally i hope that tounry is 5.84c/d la hope this tourny can be 5.84 version mayb this is last 5.84c version tourny already lolz

I disagree with people saying that using v6.27b as the tournament version would discourage teams to join.

As long as the prize money is alluring enough, people will still join. Pros are pros whether v5 or v6 DotA, they still can excel.

For me personally, I would like to see v.6.27b as the map to be used, as this would open up more possibilities, fresh strategies and gameplay. Don't get me wrong, I still play v5.84c these days but it's just getting too dull with strategies, hero line ups and some of the rules for v5.84c.

Maybe it's time for one cyber cafe to make the 1st step.
