From what I heard, Fallout is the spiritual successor to Wasteland and was intended to be the sequel to that.

What happened? I don't exactly know but considering it's released by EA at the time could've explained why it's pretty much dead until now.

I'm in. 15 USD for a good post-apocalyptic RPG game is worth every cents.

Neither did I.
I support it mainly because of Fallout & Fallout2 by Brian Fargo and Interplay. That and to show the support we have for these classic games.
If you wait till the game came out, you'll have to pay the full retail price maybe at 39USD tongue.gif

I'm pretty sure steam is already a confirmed platform. Brian Fargo mentioned that people who pledge will be able to beta test the game on steam prior to release.

I dunno. I pledged a hundred bucks so I didn't really take a look at what the other amounts entails. It doesn't make sense for it to not be on steam if the infrastructure to have the beta is already there, does it?

Hmm... I'm not really familiar with that term blush.gif

So, will Wasteland 2 camera be similar to Fallout 1?

Or is it exactly 90 degrees at the top?

EA coaxing Kickstarter projects to Origin, Wasteland 2 the first

user posted image
QUOTE
Electronic Arts has announced that it will start inviting funded Kickstarter projects to their digital distribution service Origin. The first game that will be on the service is Brian Fargo's Wasteland 2. Fargo stresses that it will not be an Origin exclusive, however.

According to EA senior VP David DeMartini, “The public support for crowd-funding creative game ideas coming from small developers today is nothing short of phenomenal. It’s also incredibly healthy for the gaming industry.

"Gamers around the world deserve a chance to play every great new game, and by waiving distribution fees on Origin we can help make that a reality for successfully crowd-funded developers.”

“I have had a long relationship with EA and it is great to see them recognize and support the crowd-funded games model,” Fargo wrote in his own press statement, “Having Origin waive their distribution fees for 90 days for fan funded games is a major economic bonus for small developers. We look forward to bringing Wasteland 2 to the Origin audience.”

EA's waiving of the fee for completed Kickstarter projects makes Origin a more attractive option for indie developers than other services that do charge distribution fees, like Steam.

^not really extra budget, just full profit from sales...
waiving distribution fee is a huge deal, pretty good move for EA...
