really? is the A65 that different from the A77 in terms of focusing? come come, TT...

Both have the exact build architecture of the focusing module just a65 missing 3 cross sensor from each left and right side, mid highest and lowest each, hence 3cross vs 11cross. The rest of the focusing works the same.

Low contrast area hunt due to low contrast, no camera can lock. in low contrast, reason hi end camera can lock due to they have focus assist light. But once u try focus on 5 meter away the build in assist don't really work, u will need an external flash focus assit for the job(also solve lower end model low contrast af issue)

No camera can focus with strong light from behind the subject, let it be canon or Nikon, its the experienced(pro) users that know how to get around it to lock focus. Not the camera. But I can't say for the new D4 or 1Dx

Correct me if I'm wrong, last I heard, a77 doesn't has 2.8 sensor either, due to the normal cross sensor is build to be as accurate as f2.8 sensor

zstan: cant say like that also... because A700 has F2.8 center sensor, but i find A580 which has a single cross sensor in middle preform as good and as accurate, and slightly more sensitive to low light then A700. so, its not really a mere "spec" competition. that why i always repeatly say, dont compare spec sheet, in practical it give totally diff reliability. even the camera has 51af point, the locking is weak and inconsistent, compare to a 9 point with 10 hidden assist which lock exactly where you wanted it all the time. those u dont get in spec but experience of using it. (but i didnt claim A77 wins or what, its still up to user to prefer which system)... A77/65 has the "3 zone" focusing area option, and i love that very much, having not 1(local AF) point but another 4-6 extra point to assist! that easily on par with A850 hidden 10 af point

Officially, the A77 has never been bundled with an 18-55mm kit lens before. So, I highly doubt your info. Even if it did, you're better off without the lens, it's nowhere near capable of having the resolving power on a 24MP sensor.
