What Jimlim007 ask was "Guys, can i iron the collapsible 5in1 reflector because there is so much wrinkle. Its so bothersome to me, i cant get whole dark in a tiny room"

the last sentence sound weird tho...LOL

I dont think you can iron, or do anything as the coating will melt (silver or gold colour ).But the black and white ones should be ok if its just cloth.
*
hmm, good hint, tonight i go check the material it is same what you have told. if the black one is cloth type type i may iron it hmm.gif thx yer

maybe he means if it lack of iron mineral in the body, the human face will easy get wrinkles? maybe SK2 can help?

one of the requirement for a photographer is to know basic editing aka Photoshop. photographer remove wrinkles via photoshop (or any editing program) by bluring the wrinkles, let it be skin, bg, texture surface...

the material of the reflector usually is nylon base, ironing it will melt it laaaa... even my 5 year old son knows.

is common stuff in this world we have stupid and smart type of people smile.gif i am stupid type while your 5 yrs old son is smart type thumbup.gif

QUOTE(shootkk @ May 8 2012, 10:09 AM)
jimlim007 : Why would you want to iron the reflector? And why are you trying to light a small room with a reflector? With a reflector you would need a light source to reflect the light from. If you already have the light source that's powerful enough to reflect off and light up the room, you would not need a reflector in the first place. If you don't have a light source then the reflector would serve no purpose.

It's better for you to use a flash unit to light a small room.
*
actually i try to shoot portrait in black background. But the small room is white wall, i cannot pratice the inverse square law due to the short distance to make the background dark by placing the light, subject and background distances. this giant collapsible reflector got 1 side is black for use as background. so in this case, i found the shot background appear the wrinkles.

I saw there is example the web shows 2 lights + this black reflector can produce the pure dark background portrait (post link tonight) in tiny room too. I just wonder if his/her background reflector is wrinkles free, or he/she pp the wrinkles, or shooting technique can make it become dark background. may be i will try tonight to check again the over head light not kena the black reflector when firing... hmm.gif

jimlim : You could:

1. Close down your aperture
2. Dial down your ISO
3. Move your subject a little further away from the reflector
4. Angle the light away so that it does not hit the reflector directly

And you should have a black background.

*
1. aperture alr at f11 (but i think changing aperture is to control desire flash exposure and of course dof)
2. as usual shoot with iso100
3. subject 1.5ft-2ft from reflector; camera to subject distance is 3-4ft
4. yes, i have angle the over head light not reflect on reflector, and also move the light 1ft from reflector. now i does get whole dark background and not see anymore wrinkles on that reflector. but after view the picture in pc, found the hair is quite dark (just have little detail) compare i view in a77 screen. I may try to lower the overhead softbox or increase its power by 1-2stop to see can get more detail on the hair.

thank for the help notworthy.gif btw, this is what i try to do as i visit this website:

Decky: Just get the A77. Sony's the best bang for your buck. Trust me. For less than RM6k you could get yourself:

1. 24MP of sensor goodness
2. 12fps burst rate
3. 100% EVF with auto-gain
4. 16-50mm f2.8 constant aperture lens

If you invest a little more and get yourself the F58 Sony flash, you can start using wireless flash already! Go and do your research... which other can give you all that for around RM 7k?

kysham, the model face/skin look white, is that the make up white or the flash exposure cause it white? when i was doing headshot testing, i sometime notice kind like of blueish-white change the object skin tone (brownies), thinking the flash power/direction cause it...
