yea...extended ending...
i think Bioware planned story dlc release bundled together with MP dlc, but those plan was scrapped to do Extended Ending DLC first.
that's why we got MP DLC only at the moment, hopefully it'll be free again. it's a win-win situation for us.
Don't think it's extended "ending", but a full gameplay.
The ending in the game really looks like an indoctrination event, it's too much to explain, go check youtube for more info...
it really makes sense especially if you choose the 'Destruction' decision and a brief cutscene showing a guy with N7 dog-tag got stuck under building rubble, hinting that the "ending" in the game never really took place but some sorta imagination...
By choosing this 'Destruction' choice, the Reaper failed to indoctrinate Shepard because his desire to destroy the Reaper is strong.
Don't want to make this post long, why would the kid in Shepard's nightmare appear as the Crucible?
When the Reaper 'invade' Shepard's mind for certainly they know one of Shepard's recent guilt (death of the kid) and use this kid to manipulate Shepard.
Did you notice when Shepard make the 'Taking Control' decision the cutscene shows a brief moment where the kid smirk/smile, meaning the Reaper success in indoctrinate Shepard;
and when Shepard choose the 'Destruction' decision, the cutscene shows the kid disappear almost immediately, meaning the Reaper failed to indoctrinate Shepard. PLUS the additional rubble cutscene if you get it
And the dialogues, why is Shepard so agreeable?
For a guy who unites the galaxy he should have more questions...unless he is indoctrinate.
And Anderson, how did he even get inside the Citadel? He didn't lead the convoy to the beam if I recalled.
The Reaper use Anderson and the Allusive man to represent the choice Shepard needs to make. The developers (Bioware) deliberately make the dialogue biased towards the Illusive man so that most gamers will choose the 'Destruction' choice (Anderson) so that gamers, when they get this DLC will know that Shepard wasn't successfully indoctrinate by the Reapers, hence the gameplay continues
The other 'decisions' might provide different gameplay in the DLC.
More info, Shepard has connection with the Reaper since ME1, the developers took this opportunity to end the game either Shepard is strong enough to elude indoctrination or he, who has been expose to Reaper connection for a long period is prone to be indoctrinate. Think about it.
AND Where the f'd is Harbinger lol
It's really obvious that this game will end with and epic boss battle
Anyways hope this theory is correct, because a DLC with just an alternate and longer cutscene is pretty hopeless.
BIOWARE for certain have this planned even before this sequel was published. Their money milking nature single-handedly added more sense to this speculation as why the DLC in the coming summer could be a gameplay, they want us to spend more money to finish this great saga.
In Hollywood, 'making viewers believe in bad ending then surprise them that ending isn't real and give them a great ending' is and old formula... ironically for gamer, hope this is true because I gathered that everyone believes that the storyline of the game is only 85% complete.
