If you want to live in hostel, i suggest you to make an inquiry for it now, before the registration date. Please search this thread, someone applied for hostel before. Type keyword: hostel

Yes, you may go during Info day to pose your questions. Else, just give a call to the respective faculty to direct you to the programme coordinator.

wait for mmu to reply your mail. Everything will be explain in it. in the mail there will be a hostel application letter. So the main thing is just wait for mmu letter.

and yes there's bed in the hostel.

my friend who currently studying there told me bout 900+ around 1 sem for hostel.
SO question : " for u all, taking Hostel is better / Or Condo/ rent houses is better. I searched on net. middle rooms are around 450 - 550. exclude Water/ Electric / Online fee. so if divide to 2, 275 per person + 60 to 70 fee of Water/ Electric / Online.
330 like that . 3 months 990 same like Hostel fee. = = . so . . . ?

am I wrong or. . ? I just told bu my friends, outside is always better LOTS than hostel, since it's almost same price like hostel.

Hi there, I just completed my STPM last year. However, MMU still want me to retake foundation when I'm planning to apply degree course of media art for creative multimedia. Anyone here taking foundation in creative multimedia and what's the course content like? Does PTPTN cover the whole foundation course fees?

Yeap, the hostel fee is almost 1k per long trimester and it's true that renting a room off-campus costs almost the same (considering that you share it with a few others).

Of course off-campus accommodation is way more comfortable, you'll get to cook, take hot showers, a fridge to store food and things that you wouldn't get in hostel. But staying in hostel can be rather convenient, especially for someone like me, forever waking up late and leaving stuff in room

The thing I really hate staying in hostel must be the toilet. Heck, I loathe sharing toilet, not to mention there's no hot shower. But look, it's been 3 months and I'm still surviving!

P/S : I'm in the Cyberjaya campus *dreading to go back there tomorrow *

I do know someone who did A-levels and is currently doing Foundation in Creative Multimedia. Guess it's compulsory to learn the fundamentals.

PTPTN offers a maximum loan of 8k for foundation level, remaining fees will be on your own.

Survival in Cyber campus is easy .

i) Prepare to eat mamak almost everyday . Well , if you are chinese (I assume) then lucky you because there's A chinese stall there . "YAY"
ii) Hostel wise , if you are male . Prepare for loudness because almost every night those (Insert race) will turn on their speaker from 4th floor can hear till 1st floor (that's in my block).
iii) Registration for hostel , well I paid before going to orientation . Then during orientation I just pass them the hostel receipt. Then off to get hostel keys !!!
iv) And what's more toilet well , sharing . Not gonna talk much on that .

BTW , I hope I dont scare from going into MMU because all of these are my current experience . Heck I'm currently in Foundation in Engineering 1st sem . This is the last month of 1st sem . Well , see ya around by then .

Dont worry bout connection lol , its fast just that if you have roommate then you'll need to get the modem( something like u insert all the LAN cable)

Can I find out about credit transfer on Info Day?

I would like to know if I could be accepted for credit transfer before enrollment.

Impossible they will ask you to take the foundation again unless you dont meet thier minimum requirement with your STPM results.

credit transfer depends on the evaluation by the credit transfer committee, appointed by the faculty. unlikely they will be present at the info day. my suggestion is, meet the programme coordinator or the faculty academic advisor during the info day and ask about the requirement for credit transfer.

I just want to know how likely I will get a credit transfer, I'm quite worried I might not get, sigh.

I thought most diploma programmes in IT are almost the same. Having the credit transfer will really save me time and effort.

Oh, hostel is rather boring actually. You go the same places everyday. But I do go out with classmates at times for meals and to hang out! And there's a plus point for hostel. Security's okay, so I find it safe here. I can even walk back alone from library at 3am with no worry. Plus, we need not worry when it rains! heh


It's possible. You do not learn Foundation in Creative Multimedia subjects in STPM.

The committee member will have to compare your syllabus with MMU's and see what is the grade that you have obtained. He/she may ask you some questions pertaining to that subject too.

Maybe you can ask who is the transfer com member in that faculty.

Yikes, with my incomplete diploma at the moment, I can't really find out I guess. But my grades are an average B+ so I fulfilled 1 of the requirement. Only problem is syllabus, hopefully I could consult a credit transfer committee member soon or possibly that day.
