One of my NOTE is AP set ( UK) from directd - has been using it since last NOV - absolutely no issues unlike some who complain about display having patchiness when in black background and view under dark room. My other SME set bought from local SEP seller shows some slight banding. Overall the AP set quality is better

Four hours on Midnote latest ICE rom ver 3.0 ; no major issues. If you read the XDA forum, don't know why several users got so much problem - probably is their flashing methods
This is the best ICS rom with Samsung apps This rom is now on 1.4 Ghz unlike previous limited to 1.2 Ghz It is on latest kernel LP5 and baseband LP5 USB OTG cable works very well now: it can be detected at /mnt/sdcard/usbstorage/usbdriveA Our user here jjamain has posted a summary of the steps at XDA to flash this rom which I reproduced here: 1. STARTING BASE MUST BE GINGERBREAD WITH FULL ROOT 2. Mobile Odin Open file...= MIDNOTE2.1_BASE.tar. http://69.46.67.99/mexicet/MIDNOTE2.1_BASE.tar Kernel= zimage. Extract "midone3-kernel.tar" to get the zimage file. http://69.46.67.99/mexicet/midone3-kernel.tar Enable everoot, inject superuser, inject mobile Odin, wipe data and cache are CHECKED Press Flash Firmware Answer "yes" on md5 verify 3. After the flash, you will be in CWM recovery. Select reboot 4. ONLY FIRST TIME you will see statusbar only 5. Long press power button, then select "reboot". You will have FRESH MidNote2.1. 6. Run Mobile Odin and make sure it has root permission 7. Reboot into CWM Recovery 8. Flash "MIDNOTE3.0.zip". http://69.46.67.99/mexicet/MIDNOTE3.0.zip . DON'T DO ANY WIPE IN THIS STEP, SIMPLY REBOOT 9. Now you are in MIDNOTE3.0 WITH FULL GAPPS INCLUDED 10. Reboot recovery using CWM manager (not 3 combo button) 11. Do a FULL WIPE DATA / FACTORY RESET, then wipe cache (NO Dalvik), then reboot 12. Check time option to "auto", then CHECK BOTH GOOGLE LOCATIONS option to "ON" 13. DO NOT ENTER YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT name and password in this step, finish your setup 14. Now select "APEX LAUNCHER" 15. Open Market and install "Maps", set GPS "off" 16. Open Maps, answer "ignore" if wants to check positions settings 17. LOCATE YOUR POSITION (wifi or 3G data must be ON) This post has been edited by benny888: Apr 3 2012, 08:07 PM |

QUOTE(Superman7 @ Apr 3 2012, 08:10 PM) Benny, when you say "Gingerbread with full root", what does it mean? run root explorerDoes it mean LC1 and below only possible? if you can delete file n copy file means you have full root infact all rooted gb rom are full root only those who flash ics who did not follow strictly or take shortcut will endup partial root as long as your gb rom is rooted you can try ics |

QUOTE(vin39 @ Apr 3 2012, 10:51 PM) rocket rom v22 or v23 better?will my phone have ics interface if i flash to v22?and hw i go about it?download the rom from xda developers, and just transfer to my phone, then load it via mobile odin, then the phone will reboot by itself?anybody can teach me?ans me please!!!noob here!!!! First you need to root and have CWM installed :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360 If your firmware is the latest LA series , than you need to downgrade first to 2.3.5 rom and have root n cwm installed first - read my guide here: http://leemn.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/sams...e-kl-and-above/ OR you can opt to flash using Odin in PC a prerooted rom first : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025 Than install, Cwm to have CWM recovery enabled following this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784 Download the required rom zip file and boot to CWM recovery and flash the rom zip file. Wipe cache partition and at advanced wipe dalvik cache before selecting to flash the rom zip file. It is highly recommended that you select wipe data/factory reset too And if you want to flash rocket v22 - suggest you flash v20 first than follow by v22 to avoid continual bootloops If all these sound like greek to you, do more research and googling to learn up the basics first before attempting You can refer to my SGS II thread to understand more about odin, rooting, kernel, roms , recovery etc - read post #5 and #6 : most of the principles are applicable to flashing the Note http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2215020 This post has been edited by benny888: Apr 3 2012, 11:18 PM |

QUOTE(Hico @ Apr 4 2012, 08:11 AM) Uncle Benny, i notice a lot of the app's folders inside the phone storage. i have uninstalled some apps but the folders still left inside there. If i wan to clean everything in the phone storage, can i just format it thru setting? since i wan to try the midnote 3.0 and restore back the app thru titanium backup later, can i just format the phone storage before flashing? will it give any effect to the app which restore later on? Not necessary just delete those which you don't want manuallyWiping internal USB storage you lose all your other stuffs too movies, audio, ebooks , apps data eg games, dictionary, some apps backup data , maps data etc. |

Those who wish to try ICS rom with spen n smemo features I highly recommend midnote v3.0
It is the best I have tested so far Follow the installation steps strictly. Don't take shortcut I read at xda several users think they are so smart that they skip certain steps n making big hoo ha why certain stuffs are either force closing or not working. They only got themselves to blame I would say I do not have fc on any Apps n no more once a while vibrate issues, absolutely no SOD n reboot no more message lasting 2 mins android app upgrading Remember must wipe data . Don't cheat on this. Restoring apps through titanium backup is a breeze Once you are on ICS you will never want to go back to the gb rom Added on April 4, 2012, 9:35 am QUOTE(Hico @ Apr 4 2012, 09:33 AM) thanks for the advice..how if next time wan to sell the phone, then how do i clean those data? just wiping after hard reset? Wipe in recovery or manually delete allThis post has been edited by benny888: Apr 4 2012, 09:36 AM |

QUOTE(ahchun @ Apr 4 2012, 10:53 AM) Benny, I also moved from Stunner. Like I say NO shortcut , start from base GB rom. Restore any of your rooted GB rom and start from there. I tried doing dirty install first but faced numerous force closures and GMail just refused to load up. I deleted the Gmail and reinstall it , still same. The several apps that FC I need to wipe data. And launcher keep on prompting error. So don't take shortcut1. This is another video I took comparing the game RIPTIDE on the HTC One X and Galaxy Note
Riptide is a Tegra 3 optimised game where you jump on your jet ski and start racing against computer AI opponents. Graphically and game play wise, it’s one of the best racing games currently available for Android. The Tegra 3 version of Riptide GP has an extra THD on the end and features improved graphics and physics including a neat little feature where the water will actually ‘splash’ onto your screen - watch out near the 50s mark Comparing the two, this water splashing effect is obvious on the HTC One X not on the G Note. However the colors looks much better and more natural on the G Note. The HTC One colors display a slight darker greyish tone. Speed wise I don't see much difference between the two You can read further on this game here: http://www.netbooknews.com/47344/htc-one-x...riptide-gp-thd/ This post has been edited by benny888: Apr 4 2012, 11:07 AM |

QUOTE(Duckies @ Apr 4 2012, 11:31 AM) Looks like you don't even seems to know the basics behind flashingYou boot into recovery mode and select the rom zip file to flash Boot into recovery with phone switch off : Simultaneously press home+power+vol up buttons After you have flash the first Midnote 2.1 base , you will see an app CWM in menu. Select it and choose boot into recovery from the app You run Mobile Odin just to test it that your phone is successfully being re rooted after flashing the first Midnote 2.1 zip This is an important step to do No offence meant : Please do more reading and research before attempting or you could end up screwing your phone as even these basics you don't seem to know This post has been edited by benny888: Apr 4 2012, 11:50 AM |
