do i need to root in order to use the stickmount app?
*
you can transfer any file. I use Airdoid and it is free and quite efficient.

Why do people fear so much from rooting? you can always put it back to factory whenever u need service.

I m on aokp and installed one custom theme that has buttons of home back and tasks but not menu. I can disable menu and there is no issue. But when enabled it shows menu button that is different from theme because theme didnt have it.
Can I remove the menu text and put it as vertical bar only on both sides. I know this is possible but cant find where to do.
may be due to theme I ruined it.

By default the GPS in the G nexus is strong and able to pinpoint/lock every fast. It is not even necessary to use any 3rd party GPS fix/assit solutions. If you have such issue , you should send in to check hardware not rely on such 3rd party fixes

I tried testing using waze apps but the app is not good. How can I test the GPS correctly just to ensure it is not buggy.
