Hi, i'm getting my first car. Viva elite auto.
Here some questions i want ask all the EX-viva owner.

1.  I planing to change the rim to more sporty look. Same 14 inch. SO the original tyre will suit the new rim? Coz both same at 14inch.

2. Viva is a light weight car. HOW to improve the stability when turning a corner? lower sport spring? Ultra Racing anti roll bar? or ???

3. I can hear the engine sound inside the car. Does soundproof will help us block the engine noise?

Sorry for my bad english. TQ
*
1. Sure can fit...im using existing tyre fit with myvi SE rims....

2. There's many ways....try a wider (or bigger) rims with a good tyre, then reduce ur car height, sport spring/adj abs (dont ever use 'potong spring' method). As additional, aftermarket arb/sway bar/tower bar would be help...Last time found someone selling front Dsport arb, but someone bought it edi..darn!

3. Of course it will help, but where u planned to install the soundproof sheet? Behind ur dash at firewall? Viva already have a soundproof sheet back there....

Hi sifus...im going to get my viva 1.0 auto elite soon..just want to know whats the fuel consumption like for viva 1.0 auto elite..previous threads mostly mentioned fuel consumption for viva 850..
*
mine 1.0auto can reach up to 87km/rm10 of fuel....Its a long distance consistent driving, and follow the 110/90 km/h speed limit.....heheheheheh
Town driving will get up to 75km/rm10 of fuel....

Another tips for new viva auto owner. as my friends that work at Perodua SC told, stock alza/viva have a acceleration prob. When u try to accelerate, ur viva/alza very hard to automatically drop down the gear even when u floor the pedal. This is becos the accelerator cable is not short enough to pull the gearbox kickdown cable.
So what u have to do is, hack/bend abit the stopper behind accelerator pedal so u can floor ur pedal even far....Then adjust/pull the kickdown cable, so ur gearbox will detect the ur pedal movement earlier, and drop the gear while u try to accelerate....

Anyone here knows how much is the original rear absorber cost for Viva 1.0? Is it the hard type or the soft type? How to tell?
*
Never ask for viva before, but kancil/kenari/kelisa rear abs price around rm50 per piece....so maybe just around dat price i though.... Normal Kayaba abs sparepart shop was a oil type abs, so it should be soft type la....

i got some questions from my friends,

let say he want to change suspension to GAB product, which one wouldl u guys suggest for him. he's looking for comfort & if possible without reducing so much of performance.

any idea/suggestion would be nice smile.gif
*
I don think changing to sport/perfomance suspension system will reducing car perfomances...But it'll sacrifice your comfort for sure depend on spring rate u chose.

I never use gab b4, but I use HWL adj abs for my wira and kancil. amazingly comfort and handling level so much better compare when im using sport spring + short stroke abs. My wira 4g91 using 6k kg spring pair with rear 4k kg spring, but forgot my kancil apring setup....

Ur question is subjective, depend on individual...like mine drove viva 1.0 auto 14inch is gud enough, im using myvi se rims since it wider compare to ori viva elite rims 14x4.5 offset 45....

15inch too big for me la....plus tyre very expensive and dont have much model available for 165/50/15 size....

Im not using any stabilizer bar in my viva, since my wife drove this car most of the time...

As I know, car manufacturer design car chasis to be twist (a bit)....as to absorb uncomfortable feel especially on uneven road. This theory just same like design of engine mounting to absorb engine vibrations. If u use a solid rubber/silicone racing engine mountings of course u will feel engine vibration direct inside car cabin.

I use ultra racing front n rear bar at my wira before, yes of course I can feel the rigidity is improved while taking a hard cornering, but there's a rattling sound at the rear bar so I romove it back....

Only my 2cents plus friend telling story.... biggrin.gif

I have...just use about 10minutes... biggrin.gif
From showroom straight away to acc shop....

Added on October 31, 2012, 7:14 pmYuun,

Why dun just by 1roll of insulflex 6/10mm thickness then u diy....Very easy one la, insulflex also come wif self adhesive....

Im also think there is a need to install an additional gauge. But the most important is water temp gauge since viva doesnt have it. Now im thinking about NRG or Shadow water temp gauge. Never buy any cheaper then this 2 brands, not accurate n easy to broke....

2. Budget : Below 30k otr
3. New/Used/Unreg : used
4. Specs : power steering
5. Transmission : auto
6. NA or FI : NA
7. Year : 2010 and above
8. Usage: Weekend outing driving + daily work.

hi guys, i'm interested to buy used viva elite auto.
just wondering...whether i should buy now or wait until early of next year

btw...i did some survey on the price through website....
if the price mention let say 29k....
is that all that i need to pay(buy n drive)? or will there be any other extra cost to be incurr i.e insurance, road tax, etc?

i did read the website on tips to buy used car
one of the point is to bring mechanic/expert to the used car shop as to view/check the car.....
the thing is that i don't have family/friends that has those expertise...
what is the best assistance for me to ensure the used car is on reasonable(healthy) condition?
*
29k i just for the car...
U might need to add more $$$ for Insurance, Roadtax, JPJ ownership transfer fees, puspakom (ownership transfer inspection), + some $$$ for runner to do it.... But of cos, used car agent will not said about runner, instead they will calc a sum of money and said "OK, on the road u add RM $$$$"...... But all of this depend on your negotiation skill bro...
Anyway, personally i'm prefer to buy a used car direct from seller/owner, cos i can test drive the car, used car shop normally not allow u to drive the car unless you pay deposit....

Based on my experience befriend wif a guys in this industry, I personally not trusting a used car shop, becos nowaday they are really good in refurbishing a used car. They dismantle all seats, carpets and clean up all dirts... They wash the engine with chemicals and spray a wax to make the engine look very clean...Even worst they also send the car for a layer of paint...After a week or a month, then u will see the paint start to faded, oil leaking everywhere etc2....Its too good to be true...Anyway, everything depend on ur luck...biggrin.gif

Take your time bro, go any used car shop, try to find viva direct from owner, survey for a best deal, make a comparison, close deal only when u satisfied wif the price and car condition....

Even u spend a day go to used car area (lets say jalan reko kajang), I dont think u can found 28 units of viva...

LordAmery,

You could try ctc jesse, he bring alot of L250/260 mira halfcut (japan viva), maybe he got the carpet... I think 2nd hand would be much cheaper compare to making a custom viva floor carpet...

I asked around and they charge around RM400 just for the roof. I was thinking of DIY but concerned that I might mess up. Saw in youtube before and it seems rather sophisticated. So when you wanna soundproof your roof?

Water Temp gauge... ok... will keep an eye on that. NRG and Shadow brand. But from other forums they mention it is good to get engine temperature guage wor...
*
rm400 wat material they use? if using dynamat or any kind of tar material that would be reasonable...

Saw someone selling insulflex, half roll of 10mm thickness is rm170, its 4ft(W) X 15ft(L), So las nite i roughly measure a viva roof, width 40inch (3ft 4inch), and long 54inch (4ft 6inch).... So if i buy half roll of 10mm insulflex, its sufficient for 3 viva's roof...Means it just cost u RM57 + some effort for DIYing....

Added on November 8, 2012, 10:29 amHye there, currently im looking for Dynamat xtreme bulk pack....Havent found anyone sell it in msia. Check the price at amazon.com for usd199, and its 36square feet in size.

So yesterday survey at local acc shop sell no brand one for rm600 per box of 9square feet inc installation.... Very expensive....

even if only 1% of noice reduced, people will call it improvement.... But of course, theres a significant in reduce of noice, u should try it....
But trust me, never use cheap butyl strip dat sell at hardware shop, never use insulfex (the foam type) cos its for heat insulation, not for noice absorption....

Added on January 4, 2013, 4:29 pmSince today i work in evening shift, so ive done some DIY work this morning, change stock viva brake set to myvi set. Its totally PnP, just need a brake caliper + rotor + brake pad. No need myvi wheel hub, knuckle and dust cover.
I bought a set from potong body shop, but after brush wire all the rust ive decided to use brand new disc rotor and pad cos the disc very rusty....
Some technical spec of viva and myvi brake set as comparison....

Myvi
Rotor diameter : 234mm
Caliper piston diameter : 50mm

Viva
Rotor diameter : 211mm
Caliper piston diameter : 50mm

Not so difficult....Just need basic tools to remove ur seat, to open ur door panel, time and some patient of coz.....
Also some techniques while installing the soundproof sheets....

Last time survey install 1layer soundproof at 4doors cost rm800 using no brand material... mine juz cost me rm220 using StP gold.

1bulk pack of StP gold price at rm550 contain 10sheets, so its rm55/sheet....I just use 1sheet per door.....

Do PM me if u have any enquiries, I will guide u to diy ur car.... smile.gif
