spoke to PNB today.
Apparently can withdraw certain amount (depends on age) from KWSP account 1 and park in ASM?

One time fee of 3.5% (3% by PNB & 0.5% by kwsp

anyone got do this before?
*
its not really withdraw...its more transferring from EPF account 1 to PNB fund...

for your info also, there is no processing charge impose by EPF for this.(for fixed price )..only PNB who charge 0.125% for the member who used the facility, after declaring the dividen...member cant withdraw the dividen...when member want to transfer to EPF, member can do so,without charge as well...all of the money will be transfer to account 1 including the dividen

if the member maintain it until 55 age, the money will be owned by the member automatically without transfer it back to EPF

You mean take loan to invest in ASB? Is that possible? Can get profit??

Its like bank giving free money??
*
not the bank giving free money...its more like u borrow money from the bank...and u get the dividend asb based on the money that u wborrow from the bank...

profit or not?it depend on how you manage it

"Untuk mendapatkan full loan ASB RM400K Mebeng Mereng, mereka yang layak dari Golongan B ni kena keluarkan dulu RM400K dari account ASB (pindah ke ASW2020) dan apply loan Mebeng - sure approve. So kira diorang topup account atas satu nama."

anybody wanna comment?
*
yes...you can do loan asb up to 400k PROVIDED that your current limit already achieved 400k.How to check your current limit?u can go to asnb, maybank, rhb, or cimb to check....

if your limit is 400k, then you can apply to any bank which offer asb loan...after approved, you have to take out the 400k(u can enjoy this money...haha) for bank to buy the 400k asb certificate...

as for me, i would prefer to put 50k max each into my kids asb account before i explore other investment asset class..if my limit is 400k...but unfortunately, still long way to go to unlock the 400k unit...

*
the epf money that you invest will be yours once you reach 55 years old...no need to transfer it back to epf account

Guys, just wanna ask one thing. I dont understand. I put all that i have in asb into as1m. And i didnt get any dividend (ya lor, put one day how can get dividend). But i only put rm16k in asn, how come suddenly became rm18.5k? Kalau tahu i did the other way around. I put everything in as1m coz i thought harga tetap is more safe than harga berubah? As1m dividend also was higher than asn. Anybody care to explain?
*
dividend for asn was calculated based on your unit upon dividend declaration...even you put 1 day, you will get the full dividend....for fixed price, its different...if you want the full dividend, you have to invest for 1 whole year

For example of ASM, if the deposit is not full whole year, how is the div calculated? daily basic? or totally not entitle for the div ?
*
for fixed price PNB fund, dividen is calculated based on the minimum balance of the month...

eg 1
jan...no investment
feb 1 invest 1k...
maintain the balance until 31dec...

thus, dividen for asb=1k*dividen rate*11/12

however, let say you put 1k at 1st day of the month and you withdraw all at 31st day of the month, you will not entitle the dividend for the month as your minimum balance is rm0

Got it...

How about if invest 1k on 1st feb, then withdraw on 1st May?
izzit still can get div = 1k * rate * 3/12 at the end of the year ?
*
yes...you are correct...

HOWEVER, you must have rm10 as a minimum balance to get the dividen...if you withdraw all and your accomut is rm0, you will get nothing

Titanic taikor, i wanna ask on asn, if i can get dividend straight away, meaning for this cycle i will get x2 dividend as compared to asb right? Asb i will only get next year by end of cycle, right?
*
i'm not taikor lor...haha
wait, if you invest now, the next dividend will be declared only in Dec 2013... which only once a year...

is it declared twice?

normally i invest during nov for asn...coz no point invest now coz not entitled for dividend...and of course, the NAV will determine my buy/sales...if the priceis 0.70cents today, i would love to invest now...hahaha...

If dec 2013 declare 1 more time than this cycle i will get twice lor. I am a newbie to ASs. Just now i put so much in as1m and it was the exact amount i put in but i put little only in asn but get extra rm2500 already. I thought got error. Huhu. First time open asn, so i dunno. Huhu
*
the financial year end for asn is the same as ASB which is 31 dec each year...

although dividend declared in 4th week dec (for asn), it will be credited by 1 jan each year...

yeah, since asn is below rm1, we can gain more in units...and dividen is based on unit, not by investing RM

Wintersun,

Do you mean by last year, if that is your answer. However, I had to say that it will be pro-rated because you're not investing it for 12 months, just like you're saving it in fixed deposit. Yes, you will receive 0.072 dividend but will be deduct and pro-rated by remaining months.
*
for variable price of ASNB, the dividend distribution is based on the unit that investor have purchased...pro rated dividend would only serve for fixed price...

Thanks.

Over simplify? I am the KISS type, Keep It Simple S ! Ha.

I don't like UT as I can do better than the UTs around. The thing I hate most about UT is their annual management fees, even when the fund is losing money!

Sorry for my over-sight in extrapolating KLCI 50% crash to ASM's 50% drop. Yes, ASM's shares are not the same as the KLCI 30 companies.  Back to my main question -

Are principal and subsequent dividends in ASM guaranteed ?

Cheerio.
*
no guarantees on the dividend payout as far as i know...

Hi,

I recently went to Maybank branch to discuss regarding opening ASB account and packages that Maybank provides.

Below is the screenshot of the pamplet.

*sorry, need to censor some personal data.

The red box on the back page is for RM 30,000.00 sijil, and the payment will be RM 180.00 (RM 175+RM 5 for Islamic services charge) for 25 years. The payment will be deducted automatically from my Maybank2u account.

My question are;
1 - Is it recommended to get this package? I am somehow prefer this one instead of manually adding the money into ASB due to busy-ness.

2 - If I count correctly, RM 175 x 12 months x 25 years = RM 52,500 (EXCLUDING 8.00% bonus [consider the mimimum rate for example]).
So what does this actually mean? I pay RM 175 per month for 25 years but I only get RM 30,000 instead of RM 52,500? Or I am missing something?
I don't have chance to ask the second question because our meeting was interrupted by personal business and also just thought about that on the way home.
Please kindly advise ya.
*
u will get the 30K in full at the end of 25 years...in addition, you are entitle for the dividend and bonus every year until the 25th year...
