Anyone here think this is doable:
Transfer of AS1M to my sister by selling units from my passbook and immediate buying using her passbook at the same counter?

QUOTE(ronnie @ Mar 18 2012, 11:03 PM) My prediction for ASM Dividend : 6.50% Spot on Ronnie. You have insider info or you are the chairman? For me I was expecting 6.8% since EPF can give 6% and GE13 coming and govt. is giving free money left and right. This post has been edited by MGM: Mar 22 2012, 08:33 PM

Please correct me if I am wrong:
All ASNB funds' (EXCEPT AS1M) dividend are tax exempted from Year Of Assessment 2006 to 2016.
AS1M's dividend is tax exempted from Year Of Assessment 2009 to 2019.
Are these conditions automatically renewed ?

Genting Singapore Bond at fixed coupon of 5.125% payable semiannually. How to compare this with AS1M if assuming AS1M average return is 6%?

QUOTE(smsbusiness2u @ Jul 18 2012, 09:50 AM) how to get Genting Singapore Bond ? Got a sms from RM OCBC on this. Added on July 18, 2012, 10:25 amQUOTE(gark @ Jul 18 2012, 09:55 AM) That one is a perpetual bond, which means no redemption date and the period is infinite. Even a slight increase in interest rate will kill the bond value. Very risky. But if interest rate is further reduced, you get a jackpot. Don't play if you don't understand. Buying single bond CAN be as risky as equity. If you want to invest in bond, suggest to go a bond fund, where they have a basket of bond to mitigate the risk. Added on July 18, 2012, 9:57 amLike previously said, you need to calculate the yield to maturity. This can be calculated from the bond price, remaining period and coupon value. If you can list the above, we can calculate the yield to maturity to see if you got a bargain. Thanks Gark, I am a newbie in bond, have much to learn This post has been edited by MGM: Jul 18 2012, 10:25 AM

QUOTE(HJebat @ Aug 24 2012, 09:59 AM) Most likely on the 30th August. Hopefully this year's dividend matches or more than ASM's distribution Your wish comes true. It is 0.1% more. My wish is that AS1M dividend will exceed this. This post has been edited by MGM: Aug 27 2012, 03:33 PM

If one find it difficult to topup their ASNB funds, an alternative (esp if one qualifies and >55 yo) will be EPF's 1Malaysia Retirement Savings Scheme. http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysi...-from-jan-2013/http://www.kwsp.gov.my/portal/en/web/kwsp/...-savings-scheme

QUOTE(adolph @ Dec 21 2012, 10:21 AM) How does the dividend return look like for EPF's 1 Malaysia Retirement Saving Scheme, or it same with "Employee Provided Fund" return? What the exact meaning for 5% contribution or subject to $60 per year for 5 year continuously. Assuming in a scenario, Mr ABC having a fixed income salary and consider as an employee in a listed company. However after several years, Mr ABC resigned from his initial position and took a business without fixed salaries such as agents to corporation. Do Mr ABC still eligible for this scheme since he was working previously with account in "Employee Provided Fund" but no salary deduction after resignation. AFAIK, 1. returns same as EPF yearly dividend 2. for 5 years, btw 2010-2014, govt will give you rm60/year for the first rm1200 contribution (rm1200*5%=rm60) 3. Mr.ABC is eligible if no more fixed income and no longer contribute the monthly epf deductions. and if he is >55yo, withdrawal is as per retired person. QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Jun 20 2013, 09:11 AM) ASM is a fixed price price fund of RM1 per unit, how can it dropped below the par value? Your RM10k will still be there. Equity performance will affect the dividend payout but not your principal I think he is worried about no money to withdraw.

Anybody has opted for 'Pengisytiharan Amanah' by ASNB for investment in asnb funds? Heard it is a new service for easier claims by beneficiary. http://www.asnb.com.my/Hibah/PA_Broch-V3-150213.pdfThis new service will assist ASNB unit holders in planning their property related to the ASNB trust unit, so that it would be distributed to their descendants in a faster and easier process. http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2013...under-ASNB.aspxCost rm180 per investor.
