Hi all, need to get some advice here. A friend's apartment sinky was blocked. The sinky is in the kitchen, the water just refused to flow through. A plumber commented that it might be due to small stones which were stucked inside the piping. Any remedy for this?

QUOTE(JinXXX @ Mar 5 2012, 07:16 PM) type plumbing snake into google.. ask any hardware shop.. some of they dont carry it some of them carry it it is actually a coil of spring of about 6mm in dia.with claw like head... when you turn the dial(at the end), the spring(snake) turn round and round making the claw turn as well capturing/hook any debries etc then you pull it back

You have to determine whether the problem is with the main pipe. If it is, the upstairs and downstairs neighbours would have the same problem. If not, go to the neighbour's kitchen downstairs to clear the blockage from the floor trlap.

"sometimes" that "snake" LoL are useless... hahaha... but some time can use also.. (stuck / diff case) go outside your house.. open the mainhole... find which one is your sink outlet.. most plumber use this drain rods then jolok that outlet... you will find "minyak / lemak" there

Thanks alot all taikors here. Learned a lot about plumbing. Initially my friend used some kind of liquid (unsure whether alkali base or not), but it didnt work after few times. Perhaps can get a "snake" to do the job now.
