Hi all, need to get some advice here.
A friend's apartment sinky was blocked.
The sinky is in the kitchen, the water just refused to flow through.
A plumber commented that it might be due to small stones which were stucked inside the piping.
Any remedy for this?

Sorry a bit blur. What is this plumbing snake? A kind of a rope or something to insert into the pipe?
Where can I buy one?

it is actually a coil of spring of about 6mm in dia.with claw like head... when you turn the dial(at the end), the spring(snake) turn round and round making the claw turn as well capturing/hook any debries etc then you pull it back

The coil thing works only sometimes with loose objects.
You have to determine whether the problem is with the main pipe. If it is, the upstairs and downstairs neighbours would have the same problem.
If not, go to the neighbour's kitchen downstairs to clear the blockage from the floor trlap.

Thanks alot all taikors here. Learned a lot about plumbing. smile.gif
Initially my friend used some kind of liquid (unsure whether alkali base or not), but it didnt work after few times. Perhaps can get a "snake" to do the job now.
