I dont really get the the ' tricks' in jobstreet, and am not interested so.

As long as some of the jobs required us to apply via Jobstreet, I will be feel obliged to do so, i suppose everyone does right?

But the problem is, the application is so confusing right now! with referring to my question posted before.=(

Doubting my status as pending or not successful! =(

I think you can consider yourself as being rejected. No harm to start eyeing other jobs. I guess if they really schedule an interview with you, it's a bonus....!!! I used to get the same status as yours..... maybe I din't bother too much?? blink.gif >> but for sure they didn't call me for interview....

To answer TS question, I've faced the same situation before. They view my profile for 7 times and never give a call, until 2.5 months after I apply. They scheduled an interview and I got the job. Recently, just know from the seniors that they are having hard times to hire people - with so many candidates need to be interviewed, and we (with my another colleague who join on the same day) are among the last who were being called for the interview.

But don't really rely on how many times your profile being viewed. Just try and apply as many as you can. From experience, if you can get 5 phone calls out of 10 company that you applied, that's consider really good. Good luck and all the best!! smile.gif

Just apply for Priority Application. Not too expensive if you're seriously seeking for new jobs. All of my jobs (except the first one) used Priority Application to get them.

I always used job street when finding a job. 3/5 times I succeed in going for an interview. 1/5 I was rejected as I don't have enough exp, 1/5 there was no news so I assume unsuccessful. 3/5 I went for interview, 2/5 I got the job, 1/5 now is still pending for 2nd interview. It's not like u need to pay to get priority, if ur resume sucks, then it sucks to get a job.

OMG!,

Who say so???

That is what NORMAL PEOPLE do and they get stuck behind hundred of job applicants in the HR process.

Meanwhile, SMART PEOPLE use their social network to bypass the HR system and contact the Hiring Manager directly.

Other than my first job, all my other jobs through 20+ years are via my social network.

I was a bit taken aback, since this is my first time application through Jobstreet, and is a first job which I look forward to work permanently right after my fresh graduation that i have ever applied.

This is really a joke for me. I am blurred! sad.gif

are you fresh graduate? if i am not mistaken, the fee for priority application is RM75 for fresh graduate. You can try if u really desperate for jobs, i have introduce priority application for my friends and they are able to get jobs within 1-2 months after enrolled for that services.

I was using priority application before and the result was i would say very good, have been interviewed in 2-3 companies and being offered by 2 companies.

And also, you may start to register for LinkedIn, it similar to facebook, but more to professional and career search. you can start from there. hopefully you can find your dream job.

for many people out there, through their "social network", they can only go as far as having their resume delivered to the hiring manager's email inbox, which the final decision still lies in hiring manager's hands.

OMG!,

What is UNFAIR about this?? You are TOO LAZY to take EXTRA EFFORT to beat your competition. Hence, you LOSE.

It is VERY FAIR!!!

This is THE SAME as people doing extra review and get BETTER EXAM RESULT.

lolip0p7,

So, they are ONE STEP ahead of hundred of resume / CV stuck at HR / Jobstreet system. And, those resumes / CV may never be read by the Hiring Manager.

That is a BIG STEP...

Folks,

By the way, as a Hiring Manager, I always hire people from my social network FIRST. Only if I failed in that attempt, I look at resume / CV from HR.

And, as far as I know, that is how most Hiring Managers do their hiring too.

Now I got it, I believe a lots of fresh grads will end up in a situation like me. without knowing the ' proper' or shall i put it as ' advantageous' or smarter way like what u guys have ruled out in applying for a job.

I called the HR once before, asking her about the MT programme. I did ask her about the other possibility that whether i could directly send my application to the company, she told me better to apply it via Jobstreet!

I don't understand what it has to do with Jobstreet, so what Dreamer101 said is partly right that I don't take initiatives to make the 'review' .

Anyway, now is not the time for all the regret and grumbling. Guess I better call the HR tomorrow!

for a start, you can surf the Jobs Enlistments section of this forum, and look for threads that are looking for new hire, many of them will help to forward your resume to either HR or their supervisors. Another way is to ask your friends to help you FWD your resume too

This is how I got my previous job

Why is it SO HARD for you to understand that some people are LAZY?? Are you born YESTERDAY?? They do not want to take the EXTRA EFFORT for you.

<<Guess I better call the HR tomorrow!>>

Why would HR want to entertain YOU?? Aka, an unknown stranger??

And, WHY would HR tell you that they are USELESS and how to bypass them?? That will put them out of their job.

bafukie,

I am NOT HARDER than what the REAL WORLD will do to THEM. And, it can ONLY get worse. We have a flood of fresh graduates and the growth in Malaysia is STAGNANT and / or slow down. Either they start getting SMART and learn to COMPETE or they DO NOT SURVIVE.

Whining is not going to help...

Actually what dreamer said is right. There is a reason why people ask to apply thru jobstreet and there is a reason why people ask to apply thru email. Because its easy for them to manage the applications and their database.

So, in this case, are u implying that those who are required to apply through Jobstreet should bypass it directly to HR by ' social network'?

What is the point of having a jobstreet then? blink.gif
