Got pic of the brass connector? If it was my case, I would 3D print a smooth rod holder instead  tongue.gif .

OK, so the LCD is working now?

BTW, very nice steel frame, I would have painted it... thumbup.gif

The frame did not come warped?
*
Tonite i'll upload a brass connector picture. I made it using my mini lathe.
Yes, the lcd is working now, now trying to configuration the marlin.
Initially want to use sand paper to make it nice looking but very hard to sand. End up just grind the slug only. The plate came perfectly without warped.

Should put a picture of your print bed so we get a better idea of your setup.

Did you clamp down the glass sheet with binder clips? Is it a heated print bed and was the heater running?

When you level the 4 corners , was the nozzle touching the bed without gap or small gap?
*
Manage to level the bed, did it after heat up the bed. Not perfectly but at least usable now. The different between side and center about 0.1mm different.
Isolated the lower part of heat bed but unable to achieve110c for long time. Checked to voltage during heating only 10.5v. The bed resistant 1.7ohm.
Tonite will try print abs using 105c.

A RepRap can achieve consumer grade prints by sourcing quality hardware (linear rods, lead screws, frame, electronics, design, etc) and optimising the settings for the electronics and firmware. In other words, RepRap aren't consumer grade printers unless you intentionally put in the time, money, and effort to redesign and build a consumer grade RepRap printer. RepRap gives you the basic framework to barely print something but a lot of development is needed to make it a great 3D printer.

I always have second thought about buying a kit from any seller because theses kits may have parts that aren't up to standard.

Also, hihi recently built a Prusa i3 steel and he might be able to share some insights on his printer. If he is still active.

Recently busy, who interest to build their own printer can just ask here. Sure i will share my experience here.

Do you guys using fan to cool down during your printing? I'm using abs and always having problem for the edge especially smaller object.
Print a 2 in 1 fan duct, it's help but sometimes will have crack problem.

Until now i'm still not getting a good print. Initially thought the bed not even. But i try to turn it upside down still the same issue. Turn the x smooth rod 180 degree, same.
Finally found that is the weight of x carriage cause the head touch the bed at the center.
Going to change to bowden type extruder plus make a support for top lead screw for more stable print.

when printing ABS I prefer uhu glue stick than acetone slurry, acetone slurry stick to your part (worst if your part are black and slurry are white biggrin.gif), for me uhu glue stick all the way never have a problem so far even with 32 hours straight print  rclxms.gif
*
UHU stick work also for me. The main purpose i buy is to try on finishing and cleaning purpose. I hate thinner smell.

If not mistaken, you are are referring to the Klean Strip brand. I am not sure if its is 100% Acetone or there are a few minor compounds mixed in it but the description on the back says its acetone. Smells genuine though since the kedai runcit ones smells like diesel or mixed turpentine.

Drillz here

Had that problem of using light colored and dark colored ABS slurry. I wonder if transparent color ABS will leave a stain. hmm.gif

*
Yes, this one.

My board power in connector burned yesterday. Luckily the board still ok. Replaced to normal connector with bigger wire...
Install capacitive sensor for auto bed levelling, take me full day to tune it. At night only found that the bed temperature will affect the sensitivity..
