Btw, A thought just came to me. If there is a 2.5% charge on the overseas transactions, would that affect transactions by PayPal? e.g. if my Maybank AMEX is linked to PayPal, and I buy something from eBay US with PayPal....

yes

Don't think it's an issue now, I didn't even give them my home phone.  There are people with no home phones...

foreign transaction is based on local time at the payment processor. So if online transaction is processed in US, then based on US local time

Called  customer service today to check after 2 months bill never got charged.

Only got informed of this verbally, can't find any link which states so.

Have you tried submitting via Express Autopay? Which is an Amex Facility and not tied to TNB directly.

http://www.americanexpress.com.my/amx_info...-OffersServices

Of course my assumption is based on "Autopay" referred to in your post refers to the facility registered via TNB.

Registered via Express Autopay of Amex facility.

been using it since last year, never had any issue until last month.
*
hmmm interesting. Did you ask whether the limit applies if the Autopay is registered direct with TNB?

Anyone bought a dell online with amex before?

If buy on sunday will it entitle to 5% cash back?
*
IIRC Dell Online does not process payment on weekends. Safer going to the Dell Store in Midvalley.

I'm planning to buy books online via BookDepository.co.uk.
In order to get the Maybankard 2 AMEX Weekend Rebate, should I complete the transaction based on Server's timezone (assuming in UK GMT)
*
I would purchase on Saturday night or Sunday morning. Preferably with paypal. In most parts of the world that particular period is a weekend (Saturday in the US, late Sunday in Japan)

Do u guys know Islamic cc cannot apply as an existing cc, this is not consider normal cc or what type of cc (I'm not sure because staff told me sth like this).

Therefore, due to my salary and Islamic cc limit, bank have not approve my application.  cry.gif  vmad.gif

But if you are holding is not Islamic cc then there will be more easy to get approval said by bank staff.

Meanwhile, bank staff told me that two options may get approve :

1) you need to terminate yr Islamic cc and apply the MBB2 cards, but as first u need to fully settle the payment if this card has made installment.

2) Bank maybe approve yr application but there only come with very low CL for both cards as you have holding another cc by MBB.

It is pain to say that, after 6 months I just can apply again.  mad.gif  mad.gif
*
try going to apply during the treatsfair? go for the lower credit limit option first. you can always increase it at the expense of your islamic cc later

ya, even lower CL I don't care, just want the MBB2 cards as it really good for me to spend  mad.gif
But, I still can re-apply even application has rejected ?

treatsfairs sure got quota and I expect got more pressure (due to 60min approval). So can always try.

QUOTE(cofin @ Jul 8 2012, 11:24 AM)
I hope can get an answer here

After i grad from Uni i only work in Malaysia for a year(i do have EPF and Income Tax before) and decide to get out from Malaysia and went to oversea for a job.

I had a maybank saving account which i wired my salary to it . I do not hold any credit card before and i wish to apply one, so i went to a maybank branch at my hometown. The Sales executive there see me no up i think because i only wear T-shirts,short pants and a pair of flip-flop....i told him i want to apply Platinum Card then he look at me and ask how old am i ...i told him 24. Then he ask for my bank book and update it then he take a peek at the figure and told me the card for people berbillion-billion and datuk-datuk to apply and refuse to even give me the form. Kimak him....then i just left

Now i see on this tered the annual income only require RM60k and my basic is around RM75k. I had a saving of 6 figures in my maybank saving account. I only got electronic generated payslip wihout EPF and Income Tax. I do not have any sorts of loans with any banks. Is it sufficient to apply for the card actually?

One of my banker friend told me to buy insurance to act as EPF i'm not sure if he is trying to hard-sell me on their bank insurance.

At 6 figures in the account, you can likely qualify for MBB Private Banking.

http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...al/ACC-Accounts

They give you a card for free.... Am quite certain you can request the MBB2 cards.
