I signed the SPA 2 months ago. What are my options if Mayland stops or abandon the project? Am I liable for the loan that I have taken from the bank?

So what does that mean to buyers? If found guilty, ML pays a fine and goes ahead to build or pay fine and project cancelled?

I have a unit to let go.. level 6 (410 sqft)

Price around RM 295K after discount with Car Park.

Reason of letting go is that i need to get an immediate ready unit to stay. Cant wait for the completion.

guys, i purchase a unit. spoken to mayland months ago, i think if you want to cancel the purchase for valid reason, you should be able to get full refund.
regarding your payment to legal firm, i think will be burned. i've spoken to mayland legal person, they confirm that mayland has a strong case. that's mean, they're positive that they're good to proceed with the project.

i haven't got a chance to speak to them to get their latest update. once i get it, will keep you guys updated. as you're all aware, many of the purchaser are actually local resident and they buy it for an investment. i even heard from bank that mayland is planning to rent all the unit again for long term charter. that's why you can hardly find groups discussing this matter.

cheers,

By long term charter do you mean ML will sub-let our unit? If so there will be a guarantee return for purchasers right?

Court decision will be out next month.

Court verdict will be out after elections. According to SA chances are pretty good, probably just sales talk...

Is it better to cancel and get back the 5K now or just wait for them to announce officially project cancel and hope to get compensation?

Initially I wanted to wait till the court verdict is out. That was before the general election but till now seems like its going to be delayed again. I have decided to cancel my purchase and get back my booking fees. Do I need to inform my bank to tell them that I want to cancel the loan?

I just called Mayland HQ, spoke to them and according to them the latest from the top is that they are going to cancel the project. Booking fees will be refunded but loan agreement you need to write a letter of appeal to them and it will be a case to case basis. Don't they need to give us some form of compensation like x2 or x3 booking fee refund?

What? You mean they will still go ahead with the hotel? This it terrible, I thought the whole issue is because of not enough parking and protest from residence nearby. Sigh...wasted 1 1/2 years of my time waiting for this.

Its confirmed that they are not proceeding with the condo. They will send out letter to all buyers to inform them. I have already sent my cancellation letter to them. It takes 2-3 months to process the refund, sigh.

Its been more than 60 days since I sent my withdrawal letter to them and still have not got my refund. Have been calling mayland office many times the past week and they told me there is some issue processing the refund in the accounting department. When asked to speak to the person in charge Mr.Goh he is not in his desk (what a coincidence)

I am expecting Mr. Goh to return my call which I doubt he would. If I can't recover my deposit within 7 days I will seek my lawyer. Any of you going through the same ding dong issue?
