they are improving on the basic hardware but just not fast enough
*
not "not fast enough", very slow instead.
Nokia already 3 generations lagging behind their competitors......
They are kedekut even until today
For how many years they've been using ARM11 cpu already even until today, the 808, still the same old sluggish platform......

richer people going to HTC.  brows.gif  I also thinking of going with HTC One S, and getting this as my camera instead. Samsung is too mainstream  yawn.gif
*
i'm not rich......
what i got was just their mid-range device blush.gif
and regarding the one s
i suggested that you go for the one x instead
because you'll not get S4 snapdragon based one s in asia
unless you take AP set from western region......

oh ya. My mistake.

Snapdragon is the name of the series chipsets/processors
When you talk about Snapdragon, it refers to the chipset of it
It is a SoC, the processor integrated many different things in one single chip inclusive of CPU, GPU, Memory, Video, Audio and so on.
So we should look at them as a whole but not just the CPU itself
Different series has its own kind of CPU architecture
Like the Snapdragon S3, its CPU is called Scorpion
Krait is the CPU of the S4 series Snapdragons.

correct me if i'm wrong blush.gif

WARNING:

pictures heavy post ahead.

here's the comparison between panasonic GF photo taken last year and pureview at full resolution for each camera.

since the photo from GF2 already went through auto post processing using paint shop pro, so i did the same thing with pureview photo sample.

same object, similar distance and light condition.

GF2 photo sample

i just can't believe my eyes
808 totally outperformed GF2
even the original version beats GF2 away easily in terms of sharpness, clarity, details and summore much more pixels to do pixel peeping
how surprisingly unbelievable shocking.gif
no wonder you sold your GF2 to get the 808 sweat.gif

btw are you sure you're not messing up both edited/original version of 808 pictures?

The rm1889 is the introduction price that when launch it might increase so they also dunno what are the lunch price. The white pureview currently in the market they took it from singapore stock. So conclusion is right now they only test market. Saw the lumia at the stored look like nobody interested

yesterday I went to Tesco Extra Ipoh, was looking at the plastic dummies in the racks at a phone stall. He then started to talk to me. I asked him about the 808, he said Malaysia hasn't launched it.. It's all imported from elsewhere but not from Nokia Malaysia. doh.gif
*
if it is imported from other region
the product code should be the one of the particular country where your 808 comes from
check the product code over navifirm should get you the answer
if it shows that it is Malaysia product code, then they are all liers
they just try to make up a story so that they can sell you higher price later

Please, those of you who has the 808, do a check on your product code see if tis true.

Most important is the warranty. Even region code is wrong as long as warranty by arista/avaxx and zitron will be alright. You are actually paying the extra for the warranty. So make sure check for the warranty card and warranty sticker.

The most most important make sure the warranty card IMEI and on your phone IMEI are identical.
*
product code is unique
different country, different color, locked/unlocked version has their own unique product code
you wouldn't get it wrong

mind post here the supposed correct and incorrect product codes?
*
since this is just the initial stage of 808
we still can't find the complete product codes list yet
you can check it over navifirm if you have one

depends la. If you been to a dusty area like construction zone or what, your clothes will be a dangerous item to wipe your phone with. If just go shopping, no problem lah. I normally flap my shirt bottom a few times before wiping
*
good news for you
i went to tesco just now, the one opposite JJ(exclusive communication at ground floor)
the salesperson told me that there will be stocks coming in few days times
which means that the 808 will probably be available on this weekend
keeps checking with them

I have tried my own tests. In low light condition it is better to use full resolution instead of the pureview version.  PV uses heavy image processing/optimization due to “pixel binding” algorithm and this makes thing worse. May be.
*
are you sure what you talking about?

full resolution in low light makes things worst actually
The PV is intented to make things better, not worst
low light condition is better use PV instead of full resolution
this is what we learned from the PureView Technology

in your case completely reversed......

The first image was taken with PV. The second image was taken with full res. Both images were rescaled.

I think in low light, full res is better.
*
would you mind to upload both the original photos for us to see?
we need the EXIF info

the 808 camera lens seem very easy to catch on light flare... can it be the lens distance from the sensor... hmm.gif

it might because of that gorilla glass protection layer, too long......

According to Thomas, limited units available. Not sure will change or not, since like much better response than L900

But maybe later AP will also come, then may see changes in price, however seems most other country also selling higher than here? Even SG also higher than here right?

Heard N9, no more 64GB unit.

china is the highest at the moment which cost RMB4699 shocking.gif
dunno when western regions launch will break this record or not
india is most likely on par with us
