Always mention to select Credit to pay for your product... cos their EDC can select Debit or Credit

Thanks for the tip, will note that. Are we required to key in any pin number or digits, or just normal insert/swipe the card will do?

I recall no PIN.

First trouble when land at Melbourne near midnight. Everything closed like ghost town. Need to purchase bus-shuttle ticket to Southern Cross Station, friend staying nearby walking distance only.
Only can buy bus ticket using CC  doh.gif  Slot in Visa, ask for PIN.
I forgot how, but a friendly chap come over to help us, and skip entering the PIN.
It works.

thanks, both of you smile.gif

I swiped AUD$576 for a booking and later it was cancelled after 2 days and I got a refund. However, the refund amount is not the same. Take note that there was a double booking made by the merchant and was cancelled instantly. See picture. My question is, is the difference in amount is due to currency exchange, or there is a certain fee taken by the merchant? Since the amount AUD$576 is the same under the foreign currency credit and debit, I suspect it is due to the currency exchange? Thanks

it's a normal buy and sell transaction. Paying in forex always cost more than getting forex. (look at forex rates)

since it is a reversal, you contact your bank whether they will refund the difference (because no actual money changed  hands). I had 2 cases, and the banks did refund without issue.

Note: you must have a transaction for AUD X and a then a refund/reversal for the same AUD X amount so that the CS can see it right away
*
Hi, thanks for the quick respond. I will write to Maybank. Yes, same AUD amount for credit and debit. Thanks again.

What the heck is the "Qualifying Swipe", it's not even stated in the T&C!
*
I think as long as 1 swipe within 45 days from approval date:

QUOTE
“Qualifying Swipe” of minimum one (1) retail transaction within forty five (45) days from the date of card approval.
Qualifying Swipe shall include local and international retail and online purchases, recurring payments, 0% Interest Easy Payment Plan (EPP) and Zero Interest Installment Plan (ZIIP).

I don't think that is the meaning of "Qualifying Swipe"....

That statement is saying in order to entitle to get the first year annual fee waiver, one must make the "Qualifying Swipe" within 45 days of activation.
*
The 2nd sentence describe what type of transaction falls under that catogery: Qualifying Swipe shall include local and international retail and online purchases, recurring payments, 0% Interest Easy Payment Plan (EPP) and Zero Interest Installment Plan (ZIIP).

Anyway, I think the bags are all grabbed up since it is almost at end of promo period. I want the bag ! laugh.gif

Hi there,

I just received my salary increment letter. Can I use that as proof of salary increment instead of my salary slip to increase my credit limit??

Thanks
*
If you are not in a hurry for something urgent, why dont you just wait for the next salary slip?

I've applied a RHB credit card at a booth 2/3 weeks ago, suppose to have verdict already. Thus far I didn't receive any parcel.

How to check what's the application status? I'm just afraid someone is using my card (if approve) for something since I don't think need call bank to activate one right for all the CC nowadays
*
call up the customer service and ask about the status. you can find the number from RHB website.

let say:

Statement Balance : 0
Outstanding Balance : RM100 (bought something on 7th July 2012)

Statement Date : 5th July 2012
Payment Due Date : 25th July 2012

Question:
The Outstanding Balance, shud be made by 25th July to avoid any interest charge? Or interest free until 25th August 2012?
*
The RM100 purchase will only appear in the next statement ie 5th Aug 2012, so due date is 25th Aug 2012.

Can we apply 4 cards which all from different banks? Heard that is 3 banks maximum rite?
*
For cardholders earning RM36,000 per annum and less, can only hold credit cards from a maximum of two issuers.
If earning above, can collect as many as you want biggrin.gif

I checked with Citibank, Gold Card can reach 100k

I've my question here:

1) I will be relocating to middle east which allowed me to apply for platinum card. but my current salary only allowed for gold card. So, can I apply for platinum card now?

2) Which one is better, applying CC in Malaysia (where my salary will be deposit) or to relocated country (where I will mostly use the card)?
*
Getting the card at the country where you are located at and using the card the most is better since no foreign transaction fee is involved.
