Happy new year to everyone!

Personal summary. 2012 has been good to me. Able to save/earn about RM2000 from MBB2 + OCBC Ti (cashback/points redemption) with normal spending. Another RM1000+ more from SCB + Citibank thumbup.gif

Hi all, I have received my new card from UOB, just wonder is that necessory for me to sign on behind the card? Will it be dangerous when ppl steal my card then duplicate my signature?
*
Imagine if you did not put your signature and it is stolen. The perpetrator can simply sign anything then, without the need to duplicate.

Hi guys, checked first page but there's no indication about irregular credit card usage. Do banks charge any fee if we don't swipe every month? especially for the month where no transaction is recorded.

example:
Jan - yes
Feb - yes
Mar - no

Thanks!
*
No charges for no swiping.

However, some cards have min swipes requirement to waive annual fees.

please teach me how to pump petrol using cc?also which to swipe first?the petrol reward card or the cc? so noob
*
It differs from one brand to another. For Shell:
1. Insert bonuslink card (refer to the diagram at the pump)
2. Remove bonuslink card when prompt.
3. Insert credit card. There will be some display at the screen to verify the card.
4. Remove credit card when prompt.
5. Pump.
6. Place pump at its holder, take out receipt.

Simple question, need answer. Does rebate means bank gives free money to us?

Means if we used $10k in a year, on 5% OCBC titanium bank will give back $500?
*
Using OCBC 5% catogery as example, the cashback is capped at RM50 per month.
If you spend RM1k per month for 10 months, the 5% catogery will give you RM500.
If you spend RM10k in 1 month, the 5% catogery will give you RM50 for that month only.
See the difference?

I have some issue regarding the hsbc amanah and would like to seek advice..
the Government service tax fee is charge upon you received the card and after you activate it or once the bank approved your card?
then bank is claming that the fee will be impose once the bank approved the card. but it just won't make sense. if somehow i didn't received the card and no activation, can the bank still impose me ?
many thanks
*

Hi. I just got my first credit card (Citibank Cash Back Platinum). Before this I'm using Maybank Debit Card. Somehow I feel that its annual fee quite high and thinking to change to other card.
My minimum spending should be around RM600 permonth (200 on petrol, 200 on grocery, 200 on bills).
Which cc is good for me..Quite blur here..
Thanks
*
OCBC Ti or Maybank 2 cards, read up about it and see if it suits you.

I have called Citibank to cancel the card. It seems that if I swipe 2 times /month (any amount), they can waive the annual fees..Now, I'm not sure either want to cancel it or not  rclxub.gif ..

well, do your own assessment, which card will give you more benefit

Hi all, would like to seek advice from you guys.
I believe some of here got apply housing loan from PBB, and normally bank will issued a credit card to the applicator who are get success housing loan from bank.
May I know is there possible can be waiver for the GST by bank? Or we need to pay for it?
I do know for others credit card, yes, we need to pay for gst or redeemed the point, but how about this situation of it? And can I cancel the credit card on after day?
hmm.gif
*
I think a better question is, what are the benefits that you stand to gain from that card? Dont worry too much about the GST. If the card is good enough, the benefits will eventually offset the GST smile.gif

It's kinda funny, since the SA asked me to scan my ic , payslips and email back to them. How are they going to check my rough epf credited, if they dont have my thumbprint or my physical mykad on the spot ? Seems like oversea banks are very loose on the application, such as uob, ocbc, citibank, hsbc..etc
*
EPF deduction is displayed on your payslip right?

can i use Credit card to pay bills?
it dont count as cash advance? wont it?
Yes, you can..provided the bill is listed as one of its payee. not considered as cash advance.

tips: have a look at OCBC titanium, 5% cashback for payment of utility bills.

That's a shame. I also just received this SMS.
Without the 5% rebate, this card is worthless. Even the rewards require several times the points to redeem compared to other banks.
I'm going to see what I can redeem, and then cancel this card.
By the way, I got a JustOne cheque account to go along with this card. Do you know how to cancel the current account as well? Can I just walk into any branch or have to goto that specific Kajang branch?

You dont wait to adopt wait-and-see approach? at least to see what's in store after the revamp.
