Hi guys,
I have decided to take the plunge and pick up the Scott Foil. As such I have to let go my beloved Scott S40 to make room for the new ride. Parts have been upgraded to almost S30 level. Bike itself is in pristine condition, like new. Some very slight scratches on the crank from dropped chain once, shifters perfect, frame is clean and polished. If you guys have any friends who are keen to view, do let me know, perfect for beginners. SMS 0109811899 for viewing. See to believe. location Sg Besi, KL to arrange for viewing. Upgraded so far: NEW Tiagra 9 speed shifters, NEW Tiagra Crankset, New Hollowtech BB. NEW Fizik Handlebar tape and NEW Fizik BAR GEL More than Rm 3500 after all the upgrades. Comes with owners manual, warranty etc. FOC: basic lights, basic pedals, bottle cage...ready to ride! http://bicyclebuysell.com/view_item.php?id=156135 Thanks! |

Thanks guys,
actually, i would not have bought the foil as my first bike in any case. I wanted a beginner bike to see if I could get back to cycling....and the speedster served its purpose to re-introduce me into the sport and letting me experience some group rides and fun rides. I want the foil because it will easily bring me to the next level in performance, although at a significantly higher price tag...I expect to use at least RM 10k, once I fit it out. so if you guys have any friends looking for a well cared for and awesome beginner bike, please do call me |

Hi guys,
sorry to bother again. Am looking for 700cx25 continental tires...ideally conti grand prix, anyone know of any shops in the klang valley that might offer these? Have tried a number of shops, most carry maxxis, schwalbe and panaracer but continentals seem to be harder to find... |

I got some 25's schwalbe skids the other day,got them cheap so I thought why not give the bigger tire size a go?
My opinion:- 25's a lot more comfortable to ride than the conti 23's I was using. The Scott Foil is incredibly stiff thus take a toll on my body even after a short ride. The 25s are a lot more plush and seem to absorb vibrations more. My impression is that they seem to add ever so slightly more rolling resistance and going around the bends does not feel as precise as the 23s. Also a bit harder to remove the wheels due to the brake pads. Have decided to go with 23s in front wheel and 25s in the back. That should be a reasonable compromise for me. Nlik, sorry yesterday no ride at Pedalsport. We were at the Ride of Silence over in Berjaya Times Square, quite a few riders there last night. Was fun riding around the city at night with 600+ cycling kakis and police escort. |

Somehow my name got pulled into this...I dunno how.....
mavericksam, Its true I got a scott speedster first and traded up after less than 5 months. Spent around 3k initially and finally popped 9k on the new bike. Having said that, I dont regret it one bit. I would not have made the decision to upgrade to the Foil if I had not had the chance to cycle on my beginner bike, join some like minded cycleholics and rekindle the simple pleasures of riding around, exploring new routes and riding my pants off. Also, I would not have had the b*lls to buy such an expensive bike without getting to know myself a little bit more, whether I would stick with the hobby. So I guess its the price I paid to educate myself. No regrets there. But, truth be told, I regret selling of my speedster, I wish I had kept it so that I could have used it as a touring bike |
