Hi Guys,

I am actually buying a watch for my wedding and Tissot is one in my shortlist. I searched in this forum and found no specific Tissot thread. So I guess, creating a thread specifically for Tissot would be a good idea too to discuss about current and upcoming models, your collection, places to buy, etc.

I am eyeing on this model:

It is currently leading other watches in my shortlist. Brand, design and price are within my expectation. If I go and pick this model, it would be my very 1st Tissot watch in my collection. It's just matter of time for me to make a purchase. From my survey, all shops offering 15% discount from the recommanded selling price. It would be great if you guys let me know the shop offerig >15% for Tissot. wink.gif.

For those who already own Tissot watches, please share your review, opinion, rating, etc of your watches. It might be a good reading too for all of us here.

Thanks.

I know alot of people , who buys a SEIKO and use it for the next 10 years .

Tissot is different , you don't buy a Tissot and use it for the next 10 years .
Its the "enter the game" kinda watch .
After a few months of owning Tissot , you will start to look at Omega , Tags & Ball .
Then you move on to Rolex , PAM ..
Then you move on to VC , AP , PP .

So yeah , Tissot is the "first poison" kinda watch  nod.gif Don't say i didn't warn you !
*
Hurm...

Thanks for the warn... LOL! ..

honestly, I am not really clear the message you are trying to deliver. I dont really get why Tissot as a starter bbefore jump into Omega, Rolex, etc. My opinion, if I have EXTRA money to spend on watches, I dont really look at Omega, Rolex, etc. It's simply because I dont really like their design. Sorry, no offend to the owner of those brands.

How do you guys rate that the watches are worth every penny you spend on them? I dont really get it. For me, design comes first as well as budget. Brand is just a bonus. smile.gif.

try WATATIME at subang parade.. i bought several watches from them before and they give >15% discounts (if ur srs in purchasing at that time)
Bsieds that, wat Gapnap says its true at least in my case. i started liking watch around 5~6 years ago and my first was a tissot costing around RM600 plus and after a year of using it i started looking at other brands. Currently i have several brands in my collection.. If u hv a budget of around RM2000, i would suggest u to go for seiko, longines.
*
Why u recommend seiko instead of tissot? Tissot not so durable?

the first place i can think of is the watch shop at summit USJ, the 1 next to giant.. 2nd, is watchshoppe at sunday pyramid, third is wattatime at subang parade.. I use to purchase watches at these locations
*
I was a price police when looking for my watch weeks ago and I did go to watchsoppe at sunway pyramid but max discount is 15% ... sad.gif .. I did go most of the watch shop in sunway pyramid, mid valley, as well as other places too but none of them giving me beyond 15% ... not even a sign for extra discount even I showed high interest to get it at their shop .. some showed me letter from tissot saying the max discount is 15% ..

at the end, I got my tissot at Tissot in mid valley with 15% off the original price .. smile.gif ..

What's stopping the dealers from giving more than 15%? Giving 23% to a regular customer who pays in cash quietly shouldn't be a problem right? hmm.gif How exactly will Tissot find out? tongue.gif
*
The shop has to submit selling resit to tissot perhaps? I dont know but i did survey for tag heuer which controlled at 15% too. There was a shop offer me 18% discount but on resit, they will show 15%...

Maybe shop has to submit resit to manufacturer or perhaps as a precoution if customer reports to manufacturer that the shop givibg more than allowed amount...

How long did you own the watch? And what happened to the watch? wink.gif You've started this thread in February and in early June your watch is already damaged? Is the watch is still covered by warranty?

Anyway here's the address & tel no of the service centre. Don't forget to share the experience dealing with them...

You may used this polishing cloth known as Cape Cod polishing (made in USA). I used it to polish my Rolex & Vacheron Constantine.

However, I advise that do not polish your watch too often unless there are very obvious scratches. It is very normal to have minor scratches on the watch as it will add character to it (unless to plan to sell it). Just wait till the day of servicing, example, Rolex recommend to service the watch every 5 years, after servicing it will come back like brand new and perfect condition.

For your case, since Tissot is consider mid-low end brand, I seriously do not think it worth servicing unless the watch hold special meaning to you then please go ahead.

What kind of shop selling cape cod polishing cloth?

Hi all,
can anyone recommend me a good and reliable place to repair tissot watches.
My mom's watch after changing the battery, the movement works fine but the battery will be flat within 8-12 months. The rate the battery becomes flat is a bit too fast.
*
I have similar issue .. sent to tissot for service cost me rm690. expensive but the good thing it comes with 2 years warranty again ..

Official warranty nornally 2 years but you can send to service center for them to revive your watch.

I did mine for rm790 and everything running again with 2 years warranty again. Good one especially the watch means something to you.
