It went back homescreen, but no status bar, so i reboot, then stuck at boot up screen. Can access CWM, tried flashing different kernels but still cant boot up. Suggestions?

QUOTE(lord_aminkin @ Feb 26 2012, 06:30 PM) I'm trying to flash a new kernel to my phone but in Win7 it said can't install driver or something when in download mode and Odin can't detect my phone. I tried using CWM mode but somehow the superatmos .tar file isn't showing up either even I already have put it in the internal sd card. Cause and solutions, guys? Mine G version btw. CWM only flashes .zip files, .tar files only can be flashed by odin or mobile odin pro. Have you installed kies? |

QUOTE(antt00 @ Feb 26 2012, 06:37 PM) You cannot flash a tar file in CWM. Just now wipe cache and dalvik cache didnt work, still stuck at galaxy s2 screen. So i flashed CR V6 agn, and now its at boot animation, hopefully it can boot up agn. Haiz this really give me a scare If your rooted, go download mobile odin from market and use that to flash teh .tar file. Thanks for your help edit: finally managed to boot up This post has been edited by TheLaptopDudeGuy: Feb 26 2012, 06:52 PM |

QUOTE(lord_aminkin @ Feb 26 2012, 06:50 PM) Yes. I thought someone said Kies suck? Yea, but you need to install Kies for the samsung usb drivers.oh, pardon my noobness. Somehow after all this reading of the guidelines I still can't somehow manage to grasp the understanding of this flashing kernel and roms. Sigh~ I there anyway I can make the Win7 detect the phone in download mode? because in normal mode it can connect to computer using usb debugging just fine. |

QUOTE(freddy manson @ Feb 26 2012, 06:56 PM) last time i also like dat, but then i do a full wipe. a real, big, full wipe.. Luckily manage to salvage phone without needing a wipe - guide from: http://checkrom.com/threads/full-wipe-the-correct-way.432/ CODE Go to clockwork mode recovery. Volume up, power button, and home button all pressed together for a couple of seconds Go to mounts and storage and select it. Go to format / system and select it. Scroll down to format system and select yes. Go to format / data and select it Scroll down to format data and select yes. Go to format / cache and select it. Scroll down to format cache and select yes. That's it no need to format anything else, just go back and install the rom from sd card. Kies is a must, it'll download everything necessary for ur Windows machine to recognise the phone, as a phone; and not as portable USB disc.. |

QUOTE(lord_aminkin @ Feb 26 2012, 07:32 PM) I'm in CWM righ now and I don't see that option. All I got is reboot system now, apply update from sd card, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition. So the wipe data/factory reset will work the same I guess? Wipe data is equivalent to factory reset. To me, wipe system only if u have any problemsAdded on February 26, 2012, 7:39 pm QUOTE(jimmz @ Feb 26 2012, 07:27 PM) As more ppl are joining this thread, it can be quite confusing for the new forumners who most likely own a GT I9100G model. Majority of the posts here are non-G related and thus not relevant to them. Is there a way to avoid such confusion thus avoiding phone to be bricked by flashing a non-compatible rom/firmware ? G users can always read first page. You can also ask here, we will help you too This post has been edited by TheLaptopDudeGuy: Feb 26 2012, 07:39 PM |

QUOTE(erymanthus @ Feb 27 2012, 10:49 AM) Hmm, same here. v37 is sitting in my SD card..haha, together with Checkrom v6 and Thebyani ICS v3.1... I think NEAK kernel is a good kernel, never give me SOD and has great standby and screen on time. But nothing can beat redphill's screen on time If NEAK is not good, I wonder why Turkbey developer put it in instead of retaining Siyah? |

I never really got chance to try out neak as it either SOD or freeze on me when i use ondemand/sio. Added on February 27, 2012, 11:21 amBTW there is a new kernel by entropy on XDA. |

I'm using CRV6 + RedPill as well. The problem is when the phone is rebooted, the battery stats gets "reset" again. |

QUOTE(ellimist @ Feb 27 2012, 11:52 AM) Abit off topic, but since we were talking about migrating to S3 some time ago, just looked through MWC outcomes, HTC devices seem promising. Just needs more hands on videos which longer play times of the phone to determine.Hmmmm tempting HTC's new devices really look interesting, even more interesting is that the LTE version of HTC one x uses snapdragon s4 a15 dual core Hmm then again unibody/non removable battery is o.o. Not like they packed a giant batt like MAXX in there |
