The photo shows my daughter's hand and the num pad, the background is the newly built Casa Del Rio Hotel beside the Melaka old town center,
The room price start from RM300, it as a river view from some of the rooms, and some have a pool view.

So I post this image here, and will be passing down the Num Pad to next tester tomorrow.
and my report, posted Mar 13 2012, 03:17 PM, I repost it here.

QUOTE
Received the Num Pad today, tested it, Since I already have 3 different Cherry Switch keyboard, black blue and red, the green, clear, ergo clear, and brown is quite interesting, I think they decide the weight force of the switches with certain measurement, it doesn't feel right the weight force are not same with the general popular 4 color switches, personal feeling anyway. Other than that, this test actually cease my curiosity of moding a different weight forces keyboard, because it kinda felt awkward typing on a difference weight force key pad, not to mention to type on a whole keyboard? Maybe it felt different typing on a whole keyboard than just a 21keys keypad.  but I don't think the brown suit me neither, Again, maybe it will feel different if tried on a full keyboard, But I think I have decide that Red Switch suit me the most, and decide now to put the Steelseries Black Switch and the Filco Blue Switch to sale, if any one is interested, please let me know.

Found this poison, it's cherry's height right? oem 通用 mean?
It mention that can be used on Filco, but the height are different,
does it affecting the actuating distance of the keys?

when they said it's cherry height, meaning it is the same height as cherry board's keycaps, meaning a little shorter...
if they mention that it is OEM compatible, it means it is compatible with other non-cherry made boards like QUACK, FILCO, ROSEWILL and etc....

cherry's key height are around 1or2mm shorter than OEM boards.
Though if you full swap the whole board, there will make no different.

So the different is only its thickness?
with both same price, is it better to get the thicker one?

or do you have any other link that is cheaper? brows.gif

It only for sale at that price, due to the uniqueness(vintage looks, old cherry thick)  and "expensive" printing method - dye sub. In fact it can consider "cheap" already as their custom pictures version cost 20RMB each.

IMO, the thick one more worth the price as it is thick(older cherry standard), having 3 color tones like old keyboards did(grey, printing color and white) and shorter keycaps don't mean any significant disadvantages(AFAIK). THOUGH, the OEM compatible Caps Lock supplied having different colors... sweat.gif

Eitherway, I not sure if the whole white one is thinner or not(probably is), but some ppl at here bought it, if you can read Chinese, have a look?
http://www.waishehome.cn/thread-46215-1-1.html
It doesn't look good in his keyboard, since the white are different from the keyboard cream color body tone...... doh.gif
my keyboard(s) are black, so think it won't have that awkward feeling......

but for the thick grey and white one I wonder how it look like on the black board.....
and also the caps lock too... does he provide both design or only one I wonder.

Thicker one are more worth it right? hmm.gif

Damn! now that I think of it, it won't fit on my Leopold (spacebar), not to mention the Steelseries 7G (giant enter n tiny backspace)......

I can only use it on the Filco.... but that's 87keys sweat.gif

Think I m gonna drop this poison......

found a buyer for my 9008S, so as I was packing it, when I'm trying to remove the keyboard from my table, it slipped off my hand and knocked on 9008G2's numpad enter key..

thought I didn't lift it very high but now the enter key cap has a slight scratch on it.

I wonder...

How much do you sell it for? can tell me the price? if you don't want everyone to know, PM me the answer.

So the basic different of 1008 and 9008 is there is 4 more function keys?
If I were to get the Tick PBT dye-sub, is it gonna be the same?
is 1008 any better? because the price are so close, the 9008 are PBT, 1008 are ABS, it only differ of RM40+-..... but a set of PBT caps cost around 100 right?
and IF i get that thick dye-sub keycaps, its only 104 keys......
Damn all these poisons~!

Maybe I should get the thick dye-sub with green lettering,
I remember the first keyboard I used have some green shift or ctrl or alt or enter or such,
but other key are in white key black lettering or something......

and then decide which keyboard to get later....... brows.gif probly be the ducky 9008 or cherry G2......
G2 is the official cherry height right? price 210.... can custom mod the spring without soldering...

anyone can tell more about the 9008(without black lit) compare to a cherry G2?

Nope, the new Cherry MX K2.0 is using official Cherry TROLL height. A new standard of it own that want to simulate those low profile keyboard(normal with Rubber dome and scissor).
Though, it is still possible to swap with higher profile keycaps(no proof yet), but to find a replacement for Caps Lock is probably impossible for the time being... hmm.gif
*
What do you mean Cherry TROLL height? thats not the traditional Cherry height? what about the Caps lock?

To share some personal experience here:

I think, getting any 2nd hand Mecha keyboard is most worth it.
since they are all very sturdy built, and no one actually really click any key for more than 20million time right?

The Steelseries 7G I got really are very nice, just that some of the keycaps are smoothened (the WASD and side of the spacebar and ALT keys) as I replaced it with a set of rainbow PBT its feel like a new one!

But most people think that buying new keyboards are more secure, with warranty and unboxed. and of course the "Kick" of getting new stuffs always a thrills, but there is a risk of getting unknown stuffs, for me the Blue switch Filco I got is not really my type.

Although risking, I decided to get the red switch Leopold, and it feel right as rain! That pushes my feeling to get all 4 type of cherry switches to try them, but I decide to try the brown switch before really getting one. and after tried, (courtesy of whitesmith) I decided that is also not my type. and now I decide to put my blue switch Filco for sale first, and later maybe will also find a new owner for my black switch Steelseries.
