Go get Rear ARB 1st... rear lower bar meant for making the rear torsion bar mounting always constant during hard braking, accelerating, and cornering... But, for myvi, rear lower bar doesnt really give that much improvement, because we dont have rear subframe if im not mistaken.. The torsion beam is directly fixed on to the chassis... But, front lower will have significant improvement

QUOTE(superdeemon @ Feb 29 2012, 05:12 PM)

101% agreed with you bro Ikiey, in fact i just came back from my 1st 1k service & had a good discussion with the SC techincian head about our rides chasis setting which he too recommended for the front ARB as rear is not much impact icon_rolleyes.gif

unfortunately, as i know of this UR don't produce front ARB yet for 1.3 - 1.5, except 1.0 23mm over the standard oem 22mm, so not recommended also sad.gif
*
A bit rather confused.... should go for the front or rear ARB? So, which to get?

Guys, what's the paint brand that you often see at Giant/Carrefour/Tesco that can touch up small paint chips?

Comes in small bottle like Buncho watercolor one..
*
really don't know if it is from some established brands...what's written in the label is "auto spa" Auto touchup paint

I know it will be low so I'm very careful when going over bumps, so even go really slow at certain angle will still scrape a little. Already customized for 1.5 so it will fit 1.3 as well. Ultra Racing, bought for about RM240 so just asking for about half the price, just want to get rid of it since it is no use for me anymore.
*
Is it scraping due to your car being lowered or what?
After taking that out, what are you currently using as replacement?

This is the problem especially with white colours where stains are more obvious. Just have to clean away the dirt inside the door handle. Same goes to those other areas like the back door, etc.
If you diligently cleans them, after a few time, no more black stain...

Serious bro..?? How to do that..?? Need to disamble the door grab handle assembly ker??
*
No need to dismantle the door handle. Just wash with car shampoo... then wash off with plenty of water using the hose. For the corners, use soft tooth brush biggrin.gif

Basically, address the source....

Then, clean them as soon as it appears as some times will still have still have some that will take time to clean.
Also try to clean them as soon as the dirt appears before the sun make it more difficult

Don't trust too much on that meter...
anyway from 9.9km/L to 11.1km/L, it is saying that it there is some fuel saving smile.gif

Rm2k to change the original alarm is really not worthy. Nowadays those aftermarket alarm is not bad such as steelmate. You can get around rm300-500. If you got budget mayb you can go for keyless entry and push start. These will cost you about rm1-1.5k
*
Speaking of the Myvi's car alarm... How reliable are they?
Should we install car immobilizer - those system with anti-theft and anti-carjack features.... hmm.gif

Hey all myvi users

My myvi 1.5l se auto is giving shreaking sound when apply the brakes. Is this normal? This happened 1month back and went to SC for check they say it's normal.$@&! Is this a common issue?

Seem like only occur after 10mins of driving it's not super loud but you can hear it and it's annoying as this is still a new car even though clocked 13k already. Could it be due to brake pads issue or misalignment ? Periodua SC technicians I found aren't really professional n helpful please advise
*
get the P2 guys to sand down the brake pads. Problem solved smile.gif

Just want to share this with everyone here....

After leaving your car under our hot sun.
Open the windows & door, turn ON the AC for a couple of minutes to allow the hot air to escape before entering. This allows the BENZINE toxin (which can affect your kidneys & liver) to escape.

Hi Guys, I plan to be a Myvi owner soon but still deciding what color am I going for.
I saw some Myvi with Ivory White become yellowish after a few years.
Is it true? Will the bright white fade after a couple of years?

If this is it, I might have to get black then... sad.gif
*
White colour - need to rajin rajin wash. Min once a week & more frequently if it rains, etc. Once you get the new car, really clean up all the gaps between parts where the dirts gets trap. After that, just wash. You will appreciate and enjoy your clean ride...

Black colour - if you enjoy & like DIY detailing.

Hi Kelvyn, I just booked an Ivory White for my wife and planning to send for PPS Teflon treatment. Will PPS treatment help to prevent solid white turn yellowish?
*
Some people recommended me Sonax nano paint protect. But I did not use it.

Meet up with a professional detailer in Kayu Ara area in PJ. This was his advice.

For any white car, there are no coatings, sealants or waxes that can totally prevent staining. Even using a $1000-2500 coating will result in stains if you only wash a white car once a week.

For a white car, it will always look great ONLY if there are no stains, and the white colour looks clean. So, the only way to achieve this is VERY regular washing.

For a 1st time job on a white Myvi, was recommended to do the following:

1. Chemical wash - all doors, bonnet and boot are opened, and every single inch is washed with a mild chemical to remove any trapped dirt. This is the MAIN reason why after a rain, you see those black marks running down the car.
2. Claying - to remove roughness and ensure a totally smooth surface. Glass will be clayed as well.
3. Simple compounding - to make the white paintwork as "bright" as possible.
4. Polish
5. Synthetic sealant.

He does not recommend using very high-end coatings although he does that for some of his VVIP customers.
According to him, he does not recommend it for white cars that are driven daily and washed only once a week.

According to him,
"Your white car will have stains as time goes by. Unavoidable.
If you rub any clay, polish, compound, wax onto a coated surface, the coating will be affect or removed. Guaranteed.....although those shops will tell you the coating will resist anything. If you use any strong snow wash, tar remover or stain remover etc....that coating will also be affected...and your $$$ flys away.

That's why, being PRACTICAL detailers, we recommend coatings ONLY for NON-daily driven cars that're washed very often."

cos these people are just cannot think even the simplest thing..myvi is everywhere here..look out of the house window very high possibility can see myvi already..so there are so many types of people who drive myvi..from law abiding citizen, criminals, ah beng, etc2..even 2 expatriates from my workplace drive myvi..so there are chances of meeting so many types of people including the so called ah beng in a myvi..same also, why do people drive nissan vanette c22 like wanna bang others?..the reason is simple, most of these vans are owned by business companies,contractors..so the driver might be rushing going home after working at site project, and the driver doesnt own the van, so he drive as he wishes..

BTW, one of the expatriate said he surprise of the myvi..he doesnt think a malaysian car can be that good..

Was he being sarcastic....

guys, should i still go for perodua sc or outside workshop to service my myvi which is almost 4 years old with mileage of 46k?

Frankly, if not for the warranty, better off to do that at outside workshops. Cheaper, can use your own oil & parts, no need to make booking & then wait .....
