Dear ALL,

PRUDENTIAL SUCKS!

I have Pruflexi med for more then 5 years+ and yesterday um hospital confirmed that i need to do radioactive iodine (RAI), I-131 for my hyperthyroidism as outpatient. To my SURPRISE, CALLED prudential HOTLINE THEY SAY Day surgery/ Treatment as RAI is NOT COVER and UM HOSPITAL AND EVEN PRIVATE WING( UMSC) is NOT PANEL WHEN others insurance all are there. SO DAMN LOUSY MEDICAL CARD AND NOT CLAIMABLE/REIMBURSEMENT VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

I can pay BUT PRUDENTIAL ALREADY CONFIRMED ITS NOT COVER AS OUTPATIENT/DAY SURGERY! NO GUARANTEE LETTER GIVEN ALSO.

My plan is old med card since its years back. Pruflexi med. Heres the Pru hotline: 03-2116 0228. you guys can call and verify it. OUTPATIENT: NOT COVER. RAI: Radioiodine day surgery: NOT COVER!

Hospital response..Prudential memang macam tu....

PHOTO from policy as prove. Prudential buyer..please BEWARE AND CHECK WITH YOUR AGENT OR INSURANCE.

hi max, if im not mistaken, RAI is not considered as day surgery. say if you have medical card with other company, highly likely not able to claim. is this RAI taken after a admission/surgery related to thyroid previously?

Yes RAI is day surgery at government hospital ( PPUM ) UNless you go to private hospital and do admission and enjoy holiday there. of course, you will FAIL admission cause they dont have the iodine-131 immediate, they have to order from Nuclear department that will need 3 weeks.... Only Prince court and SJMC have nuclear facility for private.

Most important is CASHLESS Admission for OUTPATIENT TREATMENT is confirmed by Prudential Its NOT COVER and NO CLAIMABLE UNLESS ACCIDENT.

AIA Old plan do cover Outpatient/day surgery. AND prudential NEW PLAN DO COVER NOW.

Old plan like us is NOT COVER and even they wrote it clearly in the policy book. rclxms.gif i wonder how many people with old plan still havent realize that! only when Reach hospital only they know shit..i have to pay upfront...wtf is this card use for..

Im Paying almost RM2k+ now pending per-admission for the RAI MED (wait..3 weeks) since they rejected by saying they only cover 7 days per-admission. rclxms.gif

This is first time RAI for thyroid since its getting worse. and not consider pre-existing since its already brought for 7 years.

OLD PLAN of PRUDENTIAL..Please double check it with your agent..even agent wont know..simply just call Prudential hotline and you will know rclxms.gif Remember RECORD THE PHONE CALL.

ATTACHMENT IS my prudential policy that mention outpatient treatment is covered BUT when you call them.. they will say NOT COVERED unless accident only and its still in dispute now.

do check the terms under "Day Surgery". there are details written in there which day surgery is covered. not sure whether new plans cover or not though. have to check the fine print in the policy contract document.

edit: just saw that the Day Surgery is under outpatient in your policy book. for your case, you check is the outpatient treatment based on reimbursement claims?
*
Prudential customer service and agent confirmed outpatient treatment/day surgery is NOT COVERED AND NOT CLAIMABLE... the outpatient treatment mention in the policy is for 30-90days after surgery only can be reimburse so if you select for day surgery the old plan Pruflexi MED is NOT COVER/CLAIMABLE..

My advice to prudential owner, please double check it if you still on the old Pruflexi med plan..damn lousy card.
