i don't think the filesize itself is 41MP, it's just some computing magic to make it looks like a 41MP image
mobile.theverge.com/2012/2/27/2827158/nokia-808-pureview-launch-pictures-video-preview
but still very impressive smile.gif
unfortunately the spec is a bit....
*
The sensor itself is 41MP, but for pics you'll be saving in 8MP, 5MP or 3MP depending on your use. It's not any computing magic, you have to understand the tech behind this. A good read over here (PS: Download the whitepaper at the end for more in-depth explanation, it's a very good read thumbup.gif )

We still have more in store.  Stay tuned.

Sometimes I couldn't believe myself how we squeezed so much out of so little.  Try the Asha 302 and you'll see what I mean.
*
Yeah, the new Asha phones just announced are indeed amazing. MFE, Whatsapp for feature phones? Something unheard of & unthinkable but now a reality because of Nokia. But of course, most of us here wouldn't even bother with that tongue.gif

Sadly still nothing on my N9. Was hoping to be able to do the update before I go to work. Oh well...

hehe..can u explain to me. update on navifirm we call flash. why we called flash? what it is actually. im really want to learn. how about update with NSU? it call flash or something..i know only OTA..on the air update, this update not change/reset any apps and setting in phone rite? please dont ask me to google again...

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Feb 29 2012, 03:36 PM)
Ok then, Yahoo! it.

Basically, Flashing is like clean install instead of update, that's why it need the full file and why you loose everything.
*
laugh.gif

Basically if you download from Navifirm or use Nokia Software Updater (NSU), you'll be downloading a big file for the whole OS. Usually it's 1GB++. Flashing by Navifirm as mentioned by Andy is clean install, meaning everything gets wiped out. So u have to restore & download back stuff. I'm not sure of NSU method is exactly the same since I never tried it yet.

Update by OTA is much smaller, 200mb++, and doesn't touch your user files/settings.

So which one you prefer? biggrin.gif

Up & running PR1.2!! Update took an hour to download, then took a while to install, maybe 40mins+. Fell asleep waiting for it last night, then woke up saw it's finished & started playing with it. The lag is normal, just let it be for a while as the phone sorts itself out. So left it there & went back to sleep. This morning it's now very well behaved already. thumbup.gif

This is a Linux based os, not Windows. The RAM consumption is normal because Linux loads as many process as possible in memory. For Linux free RAM = wasted RAM.
*
Very true. In Linux free memory is used as cache to maximise performance.

For PR1.2 dudes, has anyone tried doing a refresh in Apps Manager to check for new updates after you've updated everything? For me it seems like the refresh can't finish, been waiting for it to finish since 7am. Weird.

Can you guys get a GPS lock indoors as easily as before with wi-fi/3G assist? My GPS is not a problem outdoors but indoors is the problem because the A(ssisted)-GPS doesn't seem to be working.
*
Yes no prob. I managed to get GPS lock inside my office room which is one of the most dead zone for mobile signals, not to mention GPS signal. In fact I noticed it locked a little faster yesterday. Will try later again. thumbup.gif

For those using XMS eBuddy with non working push, there's a solution, but you're not going to like it. You have to remove your Nokia account from N9, reboot, add back Nokia account. Only then will push notification start working again. Of course doing this means if you have contacts synced to Nokia account you'll lose them, hopefully it'll show back up again after adding back Nokia account. For me, it left my contacts in a mess. rclxub.gif

Good to know N9 over Bluetooth works well with car kits now. I love how the N8 worked so well.

MFE = Mail for Exchange

Your problem is kind of unique. You should really consider taking it back to NCC.

how to set up refresh cycle?
*
I think it's under Settings, Notifications, Feed on home screen, Automatic updates. Here you can set timing of refresh. Correct me if I'm wrong.
