Oh, that's why my E6 doesnt have this banding thingy. I thought it's cos it's smaller 3.2" screen. Actually the N9 also not so noticeable, unless watch videos in the dark

If originally download on PC, mine is normally Xvid, smaller file size. But if coverted from rmvb to xvid(Any Video Converter also), sometimes the warm colours like orange, red, are too glaring. Can imagine the Emperor, Empress, Prince, Princess costumes hurt the eyes, gaudy

If download using cutetube, 480p mp4 is good quality, provided the uploaded copy is high quality, I think the developer already optimise the format.

I think the original news I read was the Mar 2011 one when they sign the MOU. See 2013 will open or not,haha.
Other articles say that the attention shift to vietnam due to cheaper labour cost than china. Samsung already open factory there in 2009, but dunno which division.

Haiseh, if you ask here in this thread, we all the 64gb owners surrrreeee tell you get the 64GB . Before launch, we already waiting, then launch liao, the KL ppl get, we from other states drooling. I insist on 64GB, wait2 until the stock come, i.e. 1 month aft launch

Ohhh, still study, then understandable. Your parents sure dont want to spend that extra few hundred. When I said insist mean the salesman at Nokia Store kept asking me get the 16GB lah , in stock liao, so, had to resist

If using flash/NSU method, your apps all have to reinstall. Music, video files also I think
Best is you back up all your files 1st, using Nokia link or Nokia PC suite.

You do soft reset i.e. "reset settings" did not solve your problem/the bug?

Settings->Reset-> Restore settings. Restores to factory settings. You will lose your social network and email accounts

Settings->Reset->Clear device. Apps have to re-install. If you reinstal PR 1.2 using NSU way, same, Apps gone, must reinstall. Dont worry abt the paid apps, there's a number of times can reinstall free.

I updated to PR 1.1 using NSU, 1.2 was OTA. If can, try the "restore settings' 1st. Then reboot. I dunno if 1.2 can reinstall if downloaded thru OTA. If NSU, you dont need to re-download, you just connect to PC, on open the NSU & click on reinstall

For those who havent tried, N9's wallpapers can be transferred to PC and rhen to other devices. Maybe cos those I have are free ones.

Copying wallpapers from other devices(via bluetooth or PC), the paid ones, some can, some cannot. I reckon due to copyright.

I got the 64Gb for precisely that, to store videos. My 16GB SD card on my E6 gets filled up pretty fast, so I was sure the 10 GB storage space in 16GB N9(after minus space for programs, apps) would not be enough. Anyway, since you are still student, when you're working that time, buy a device that can store more than 16GB (hint: 808 Pure view)

You really music lover. Part of the reason why I store so many videos are the youtube music videos and sports matches. Stimes 10GB isnt enough for even 1 tournament,esp major ones like Thomas Cup and Olympics. Add to that multi sports.

If you want an android OS, best get android phone, lots and lots of choices. If you are thinking of getting n9 to get a taste of meego, then ok. What are the features which are must have for you? Apps and games are not n9 strong points.

- On wifi signal, its not as strong as other devices but better since PR1.1. No problems at home, whether upstairs and downstairs, at the gate. Outside, it can detect the kfc, McD,etc wifi and connect at one floor up. It can detect the streamyx wifi from the office across the street
- 3G, no problems, maxis will follow faithfully,lol. Its the same as my E6.
- sms vanish. Huh? Thats a new one.
Conclusion : ask the guy, you want test with my 64Gb n9 instead ? Or the sim card tray got problem?

- Apps, yup, its n9's weak point. Iphone has loads of apps.
- Lumia's smoothness, cant comment, all you ranger sifus can compare.

Under Settings, did you enable Allow background connections(Mobile data and WLAN) and Alow background connections(MObile data connection when roaming) ?
Are you on power save mode? The internet connections are not continously on in power save

Settings->Internet connection->select the wifi-> enable the Use automatically

The Maps, I only had to connect once & it downloaded, should be around 300MB in total

I have found it happens when I click the side button to lock the screen(sometimes, other times no prob whether it auto lock or click button to lock. Need to tap hard to unlock, or, use the side button to unlock. Whether it's charging or not, no difference. Tap the middle or near the top of the phone is better in such situation.
Could be the phone in the middle of some processes when it was locked

Dunno. I find that after I wash my hands using soap, even though I wipe total dry, also will have prob for a few min. Air cond or non cond no difference but of course I dont put it right beside the air conditioner. Finger with sweat or oily food also, wipe 1st. Middle of screen dont work, go top or bottom of screen, lol.
It occurs the most for me when I had clicked the side button to lock instead of the normal auto lock

So, to answer your question, no setting, just the physical side button if the tapping doesnt work.

I remember got somebody asked if can play FB games on Firefox 11 with flash 10.1, the answer was no.
Out of curiosity, I tested the latest Firefox version(ending with 0.02), it can play Mafia Wars, Fishville, Cafeworld, even Farmville. Farmville couldnt load until I changed the "User Agent' to 'Desktop Firefox'. In 'Default', it will keep going back to the mobile version of FB

3, there's Android and IOS. But it's darn slow for the flash heavy games, not advisable to play on phone, simple games can lah(Mafia Wars or similar to Poker)
