N9 browser better than Opera? Not to me. Opera has text reflow so you can adjust the font size without sentences being chopped off. You can also set the Opera agent to desktop so you see exactly what you see on a PC instead of being kicked to a mobile site.
*
I didnt say it's better than Opera, I prefer using it cos all the 'bookmarks' and passwords already there. ;)If I remember correctly N9 browser loads faster wink.gif

I used to use N9 stock browser only but have changed my default to Opera now as I can't stand a few issues with stock browser anymore. I still use stock browser for watching Youtube videos though. Opera now loads almost as fast as stock browser so there's no issue with that.
Nope, mine working fine. You can also check Whatsapp Status to see if Whatsapp is having issues or not. It was dead 7 hours ago.
*
I had loading issue and key in password prob with one of the online banking sites when I use Opera. Still have the loading issue now, just tested. I guess I just lazy to bookmark the websites again in Opera. N9 Stock browser 1 thing unique, all on one screen, tap tap tap, one shot all all open, hahaha

Yes Opera still have loading issues in some websites but it's minimal. Besides u do not actually have to bookmark the websites again in Opera. Once u set Opera as default, any saved bookmark in N9 opens in Opera. One thing I prefer in Opera is the scrolling which doesn't show checkerboard pattern like in stock browser. Opera also eats less memory & does not seem to have memory leak issue.
*
I dont like the vkb in Opera. Bookmarks dont open different pages at same time..as in different pages spread out on one screen, sthing stock browser can do. A few taps, open all the different pages, then swipe, tap. I'm the type who go back & forth many websites fast. I suppose I like the swipe too much liao biggrin.gif
It's ok lah, we use which each of us like. Can alternate 3 different ones also-Stock browser, firefox, opera

I only use firefox if I need the flash player, i.e. sports livescores. Noticed it syncs the firefox on my desktop much better than previous versions.

For other sites, I will select and bookmark the desktop view for certain sites. The rest of the time, mobile view is fine, less clutter

Nope, because N9 operate hotspot based on ad hoc network...android only detect infrastrtucre network unless you root and change some file.
Yeap..usb door. My N9 now like bogel already at the upper part laugh.gif
*
Haiseh, the Samsung tab is company one, cannot root or change any programs on it. Celcom 3G (also under company)sucks at certain areas, I was thinking use the maxis on my N9.

haha..forgot oready this is n9 thread.

meego and wp8 which one is better platform?

i like n9 because of its superb multitasking and efficient gps. dont like my android gps papago, so troublesome to use in car, have to stop for a while just to initialize signal towards gps satellite.haih. is wp8 better than meego n9 in term of multitasking and gps navigation?
*
Well, WP is closed OS, Meego is open source. Those of us who bought N9 and still keeping it till today prefer open source. GPS, dunno yet for WP8, better you wait for lumia 920, 820 and read the reviews. Of course by then, N9 will be harder to find, esp the cyan & magenta.

it's all down to personal preference, and how overall the ecosystem is being controlled. iOS for instance, is an example that closed source can also be successful if done right. Overall closed source, if done right, will give u a more consistent user experience, potentially better performance with the proprietary drivers and stuffs. Open source in the other hand will give u options like you're in a buffet, don't like this dish? try another dish, there's always that one dish that will suit u eventually. But sometimes people doesnt need those, they aren't aware of the 'options' they have, neither they have the knowledge to pick those options, like custom roms on android for instance, many say it's nice, but even more didn't dare to try, or didnt even know how to flash one, or didnt even heard of it.

but as for N9, I can only say... hardware is dated, and although harsh, there're only that many experience u can have with the hardware on N9, if you are trully interested in meego, just pay tight attention on Jolla
*
Yeah, but so far havent read in this forum those who like IOS who will buy N9(as in come out own money buy, not the reviewer set) and vice versa. If they are not satisfied with certain features in one system, then ya, they will try another system. Those who have both Lumia 900/800/710 and N9,most prefer N9. Till today I would not go for IOS, too restricted, esp in the type of internet coverage we have in Malaysia.
I dont see how one can like both A and B, if like A, high possibility dont like B. That's why I said to that forum member if those who have N9 & until now still keep, havent sold it off, mean we are the type prefer open OS

Oh,even now there's still people buying N9. Welcome to the club Andrew Lim. I'm actually surprised someone with Iphone 4 using N9 as main phone. Lack of apps, no official whatsapp,no instagram. Stand by battery life for n9 is good, one member managed to get his to last 50+ hours.

Active usage whole day without switching off at nite, 10 to 12 hours

btw, yesterday when play with the android tablet, try to swipe to exit an app, only few time then aware i am actually holding an android gadget... hahahah doh.gif
already a habit... Swipeeeeeee
*
We all N9 owners also have same habit, lol biggrin.gif When I use the 808, keep trying to swipe down, wonder why the fella didnt respond, haha.

My N9 dont throw tantrums, just small annoyances, like sometimes cannot detect the Maxis 3G, after reboot also cannot, usually same place/location can detect. Wait a while till it calm down, then restart. Or go outside the building so no interference. Once can detect, it will stay on

and also suggest me list of apps that might be useful for me..

tq

Read the 1st page of this thread, there's a list compiled. See also talk maemo forum.
You do know the official Whatsapp is not available for N9 but we have Wazzapp, ported over.

Other stuff, you need to ask specific questions. Its been more than 1 yr since N9 release, thread is quieter, the early owners, we dont come here often anymore. Last update already released, PR1.3.

thanks ^^ by the way before updating, I need back up it first right? Should I install software too?

anyway, I have question regarding with vibration. Does anyone have problem for not feeling vibration from your N9 after received message/call?
*
Always back up for precaution. N9 has good vibration,I have no problem feeling the vibration in my pocket. Check the settings and see if vibrate is turned off esp for silent mode

how to used the link i dont see any 1.3 related in there?

BTw i no redceive any 1.3 update also =="
*
Try Settings-> Applications-> Manage Applications->arrow sign at bottom right. That shows software update. That is the OTA(Over The Air) method of getting updates for N9, that was how most of us updated to PR1.3

If that doesnt work, then you need to use NSU method(Nokia Software Updater) by plugging N9 to your PC
