which is more suitable for me if i use my laptop mainly in my room and do quite a lot of gaming like starcraft 2,skyrim,mw3 and during the day download torents

i am now looking at N43 and also other A series,trying to get a 14" because once in a while i need to bring my laptop to class

What's your budget like? And do you need the good speakers? If possible, it's recommended to pay a bit more for the N or U series rather than the A series as you would get better build quality and design on a whole.

The A-series's cooling is't the best but yours is definitely a bit warm. My old A42JV doesn't hit more than 85C while gaming.

my room temp is not 25'c but around 34'c @ normal day. night, around 30'c. it feels like a sauna around 12-3 pm.
I dunno which idiot designed my room, the air circulation is terrible.
already complained to hostel management but they did nothing.

p/s: my lappy temp is normally around 56'c-58'c on standby in my damn room.

Sounds to me like you need a cooling pad for your laptop, my laptop idles 5C-10C lower than yours so I'm gonna take a guess that ambient temperatures are affecting it.

'm using a cooling pad now. it doesn't help much.

True, but ambient temp in this case would be your sauna of a room's temp. Even outside, it's only about 28C. What if you use air-conditioning full time?

Well, you would have to mod the backlit keyboard yourself and it will void your warranty.

Yes, the UX32 is coming soon but it probably wouldn't be equipped with a 256GB SSD and will instead rely on hybrid HDD. However, you do gain a higher resolution FullHD display, discrete GPU in the form of a GT620M and the Ivy Bridge CPU.

So it's really up to you, Personally I would say wait for what is to come. The current pricing for the 256GB UX31 is about RM4.5k.

hybrid hdd? never heard of that faster than ssd? i have an ssd myself for my gaming pc and its supah awesome i loved it. whats the diff between hybrid ssd and ssd?

Hybrid HDD is a HDD with some flash memory. For example, the Seagate Momentus XT. It's a 750GB 7.200 rpm HDD with a 8GB flash cache. Performance wise it's faster than a HDD but still slower than the SSDs. So it's a good trade off of speed and capacity.

Well, not entirely sure yet, probably in a month or two.

Probably would be cheaper than the current 1st gen models. Though by how much, that is to be seen.

Nope, the local SKU is only HD.

It's RM3.6k.

It comes with an i7-3610QM, GT630M and a regular HD display. Only advantage you have is the more beautiful design and the Ivy Bridge CPU but I personally don't think it's a upgrade over the N5 series.
