This thread is for those who are looking for recommendation in a particular category of software (antivirus, download manager, IM, whatever) and other forumers are allowed to give recommendation based on the question.

For example, if you think the download manager you are using now sucks and you're looking for a better alternative, and you're unsure about the choices in the Common Software Links thread, here is the place for you to ask.

The reason for this thread is obvious - to reduce the amount of threads like:
- Please recommend me a good web browser
- Which bittorrent client is the best?
- Recommendation required for a good registry cleaner
- What compression software I should use?

etc...

And for those who want to give recommendation, please give reasons for your recommendation instead of merely stating the software name itself.

So I seek co-operation from all of you to participate in this thread instead of opening threads like that to mess up the forum.

Happy asking and recommending! smile.gif

personally im using registry mechanic (a specific registry cleaner) n the system mechanic pro 6 registry cleaner. the reason being, its fast , efficient n i never had to undo previous cleanup (meaning no hangs/BSOD) after cleaning.

Used tune-up utilities before and it's a good system management software overall, not just registry cleaner

CCleaner is not bad, and I'm using it now because it's free

I recommend Foxit reader for opening PDF files.
Really fast in term of installation time and loading time. Doesn't use much memory either.

I'm not sure what particular kind of optimizing are you looking for, but TuneUp utilities is good enough for general purpose. It includes registry cleaner, sys optimizations, registry defragmenter, system cleanup etc....

As mentioned, CCleaner is not bad for freeware
Don't bother asking for crack or even talking about it here

I'm not sure if graphic card is the factor, but definitely PC spec matters.

My FoxIt reader problem is not serious as yours...at most can't display certain lines only

Reposting here as per moderator's suggestion.

Please recommend a software bootable on floppy similar to fdisk to check if my Hd still working or not. If working, Id also like to know if the hd got bad sector or not and possibly repair it?

Guai Guai Zai, recommended HDD Regenerator v1.51(Thx Guai Guai Zai smile.gif) on my original thread.

Any others to add fellas? Thx in advance.

Gimli, you may use back the HDD manufacturer own utilities. Download the tools from its respective webstie. Bootable from floppy or CD.
