Mat79, thanks for your post, another great one too.

The rattling problem i more or less know where it is, its just the parts are difficult to access and i dont really trust proton techs to open up my dashboard lest they solve one rattle but introduce another one. Last time my rear door rattle, those idiots go and grease my rear seat mounting. I have to open up the door trim panel and apply insulflex only the problem was solved.

Now left the so called CVT mounting sound tat i will need to do for my next service.

"SkyActiv Technology"
isn't that the company that claim their auto gearbox more superior than CVT and DSG

Added on March 16, 2012, 7:00 pm
last time when i said better quality
its not 1st batch of every FL/release
its the 1st batch of the model
like in saga...1st batch of saga BLM...not FL and FLX
becuz after BLM...they're already starting to cut the cost to maximize profit/minimize cost already
becuz every FL, alot of thing is similar...so they didn't make much changes instead just put new things like CVT into it
so "my recommendation only"...if want buy..buy the 1st batch of p3-21a...not the FL/SE
my saga BLM until now no dashboard rattling
minor problem sure got...but fixed by warranty already
*
I know what you meant last time. Remember, the cvt powertrain was introduce with flx, and the first batch of flx had the cvt overheat issue, thats what i meant by design flaw that plagues the first batch, or the first models to use new tech or production methods.

Now, the new proton car is having tonnes of new tech being introduced into a proton car, be it accessories or the powertrain. I am not saying they are skimping on the reliability studies, its just some stuffs are simply difficult to discover without the car being driven by the consumers, that compound with the possibility of poor QC could potentially aggravate the problem.

Noisy brakes? That's quite common. Both our Frenchies have it sometimes, and I have seen many other cars, from all sorts of brands that make this squeaking noise.

*
Heh, if it's only squeaking noise, I can live with it. It's a rythmic knocking sound from the drumbrake that follows the vehicle speed when the brake is pressed.

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Mar 16 2012, 10:00 PM)
i know what u mean
but the "major" part are already been tested and proven
such as engine and GB...tested in exora bold already
whats left now are those new tech accessories....ESC, traction control..etc etc
but they did tested it....when they send the car to overseas to test at the part's manufacturer's factory
but thats when they only build 3-4 cars to test
when it comes to major production, theres bound to be lemon and parts manufacturer surely will have a few lemon as well
the rattling, on my view is lack of soundproof, its too empty for saga...saga doesn't have any soundproof at all...literally
this p3-21a comes with full soundproof so it should be better..plus they use soft plastic...not hard ones
*
I thought the CVT in the CFE variant will be CVT3? Exora bold is using CVT2?

But that's beside the point. Look, I hope you are right and your optimism is ultimately paid off, I really do. I wish nothing but the best for P321a, and I applaud their effort in testing the new systems as thoroughly as possible. I hope all of that is not let down by poor QC and after sales.

In fact if all the stars align, I might get one next year. I have repeatedly pestered my SA to call me when a test drive unit arrive at his dealership.

But again, I stand my ground to look and see before jumping in.

Rather buy inspira.
My fren just told me p3 will not be selling in some countries due tO its quality problem.

NO offense. If u want problem free car better dont get p3 because my fren is one of proton's senior staff and he told me they found out inspira is muchmuch more better than p3.. Maybe is because of our proton still lack of knowledge to build a own design car.

CVT warning indicator lights up for numerous reasons, not limited to overheat alone only.

it was due to faulty oil pump in certain CVT which causes lower than usual idling rpm which leads to potential engine stalling.

Added on March 17, 2012, 2:12 amFirst batch of FLX already comes with CVT cooler in the first place and therefore the chances of overheating highly unlikely.
*
I stand corrected then.

But the fact that a new car would inexplicable go into safe mode due to this, and Proton sheepishly "recalling" these cars, point to a flaw in the design or implementaation. I also vaguely recall a fuel hose placement issue that would cause the car to jerk, which was part of of things rectified in the "recall" exercise.

I dont think the fuel hose has connection with the jerk.

In fact I cant brain why they need to change the fuel hose. lol
*
I saw the memo at an SC before regarding this, they did attribute the jerk to the fuel hose. Since some ppl say after sending to SC for rectification, the jerking issue was gone also.

The memo describe how to move the fuel hose to a different position. Something to do heat, I gather.

There is nothing wrong for inspira to be better than p321 considering the amount of percentage of parts that's actually importing from Japan.

The most important is proton are closing the gap between the car it is selling with the global car Mitsubishi is selling.

Even if u say there is a lot of p321 proton is learning/copying/imitating/reverse engineering(not design but when design know how) from forte or inspira, it's not a problem, u learn from those global cars like forte and lancer.

I can see this is a good effort from proton. Fairlady in the beginning is actually copying the styling from Porsche, no problem at all.

Next, someone will say "learn what? no tech transfer!" hmm.gif

They get to assemble the inspira, and they can actually how ppl design plastic parts like dashboard with clips and soft plastic.

No one will actually share core tech, and not everyone can learn it anyway smile.gif

smile.gif it depend what they wanted from tech transfer. They know how to design a car already, they just need to pay attention on details and plastic quality only smile.gif

And of cos, brand image. Afaik, any one with 70k budget is very hard to convince them to get proton. One even get a swift as familly car to carry baby and wife smile.gif just to avoid the local car badge.

Next they need to hire some very good marketing guy to do wonder

guys. i have check one review on net. vios get 0 – 100 km/h just a little under 12 secs. faster than executive preve which takes 12.5 secs. and vios top speed managed to get 180 km/h yet executive cvt preeve 170 km/h only. hmmmmm. that makes me wonder

but premium preve only use 5.8l/100km. what is vios fc figure? premium preve better than vios right?
*
Official figures are not always reliable. Proton say the Saga FLX 1.6 top speed is 165 km/h, when already got member went 200km/h. Official FC figures, forget about it.

Bear in mind, the P321a is about 200-300kg heavier than the Vios, they are not even in the same segment of cars.

You should be comparing to Forte or Civic.

Saw the P3-21A............in a box.

In real life, the car does like sharp, especially the headlight and also the side crease.

If I want to get this car, it would be solid white.
*
Solid white, i was thinking the same thing. Use to avoid white cars, but now i bought one, feel they can look good too. Just the maintenance is really tedious thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

I wonder what are Proton hatebois doing in this thread. They have no intention to buy the car since the beginning of time.

What? Are you here to exert the superiority of your Toyota/Honda/Nissan/Ford/Perodua etc. etc. before the P321a is even launched? Compensating for something are we?

What are you trying to said? I got my first proton car.. Its not bad but if really want to compare with T & H its still lose. My family last time got one waja, saga old, saga lmst, proton wira and blm. Trusted them many times but they left us with regrets feeling. First you know why? If the car got problem we reported to SC but they just buat tidak apa attitude. Most of the time will answer you like this "is like that one" (macam itu punya). Muthafaker them, car is built to be broken/faulty??. I know not cars are perfect and sure got problem but japanese cars SC handle nicely and get it fixed for you. They are scared of customer complaints againt them. Proton?? I still remember this, last time my car brake cable faulty and they ask me to wait while getting it ordered. Waited for months and keep call them and they still buat tidak apa.. My handbrake cable cannot use for months, luckily my car is manual and i always use gear to stucked my car on uneven road. After waiting for so long i cant tahan already so i decided to email this to proton care service. After a week the SC call me and ask me to take back my deposit and get it replaced at other SC and i ask him WHY, he said i complaint their SC.. Wtf why i cant complaint? Brake cables need 2 to 3 months???
*
Serious?

You can find plenty of horror stories about T&H SCs who treat their customers like idiots. Worse, those customer's paid more money to be treated like idiots.

How did you think Honda City IDSI's CVT got such as bad rap? ever heard of the Honda owner who paste sticker on his Accord "My honda tak guna" and park in front of the SC? Oh and that thread where the Honda Hybrid battery kong and Honda tried to lie their way out of a warranty claim? Oh let's not forget the legendary cockroach urine in the ECU by Toyota UMW. Then there's a Naza Sutera owner whose engine kong a few days (or weeks?) after getting the car, and got treated like shit by Naza SC. My Cousin's BMW rear brake lamp kong they try to get out of warranty claim and ask RM8k from him (Among other problems, he swore never to buy a BMW again. Who does that?). Need I give more examples?

And despite Proton's problem your family bought so many Proton cars so that you can come here and complain? go buy Perodua lah. U think only Proton SC got problem? fine la I pay 50k for a baseline car, I complain you if you treat me like shit. I pay RM 500k and is still treated like shit what are you gonna say? throw money in his face ah?

Please go and worship your Vios J with scratched dashboard somewhere else.

Fyi my dashboard scratches did by my wife and toyota still willing to help me replace new one. This proves that toyota service is good. I even scold the manage for minor things and the manager treat me like a king. Not same like proton at all.. Proton workers dare to scold customers.. Pay money to get proton and yet become bangla let them scold again.. Haha

I see that you have conveniently neglected to address the rest of my post.

Oh well, criticism and bashing I can stand. But stupidity and blind ignorance doesn't deserve attention.

I'll end this post with a joke:

One day, an ah beng went to a japanese car dealership to collect delivery of his brand new car. Upon inspection, he saw some smelly brown substances on his driver seat. He asks the SA what it is, and he explained that a disgruntled factory worker shitted on his seat. Ah beng went on to ask, at the japan factory or marehsia factory? The SA reports it happened in japan, and offered to change another car.

Ah beng declined the offer, and explained that it is good shit because it is japanese shit. He then sat on the japanese shit and drove it home.
