For my case.
After submitting documents (through the car sales guy), received call from bank in 1-2 days to ask some questions.
After that, got offers within the week.

Hi guys..
Any idea what is the maximum loan tenure for a 9 year old Toyota/Lexus (2012) model? I was told these 2 brands still can take loan as long as still below 15 year old.
*
Car Age + Loan Tenure = 15 or below.
9 + 6 = 15.

Max 6 years.

Hi !

Loan amount rm50k for 9 years.

I am not a salarymen but running own business.

Everymonth cash sales into bank account in and out about rm10k to rm15k.

Can i qualify for the rm50k loan ?
*
Company need 2.5 years
can try if 2 years

care to elobarate ?

dont quite understand..
*
Company SSM need to have history of 2 years or more in operation. Anything less than 2 years straight reject.
Next 6 months bank statement. For 50k loan bank will look into the inflow and outflow of liquidity of around 20-25k per month.

10 Years old car unlikely to get 7 years. Max is 5 years.
But some banks can only lend out 3 years.

Anyone know which bank is more lenient on self employment applying car loan?

What documents do I need to provide? Does rental income of my property contributes to my total income as well?
*
Self employed usually harder and requires guarantor.
Rental income some banks may consider less commitment (80%). I know tiger bank ignores rental income.

But rule of thumb for sole prop is to take revenue per month, then multiply that figure by 15% = that's your perceived monthly income.
Take that figure, multiply by 70%, less any commitment you have and then see if the leftover amount is enough to cover loan instalment.

SOunds like quite high comparing to what you guys get (2.1~2.2%)

And normally do you guys let the car SA to survey the loan or DIY n walk in to bank ya?
*
QUOTE(contestchris @ May 29 2022, 11:43 AM)
I believe OPR went up in early May 2022 so car loan rates would be up around 0.10% - 0.15% across the board. Correct me if I'm wrong guys.
*
OPR is up 0.25% so this is reflected across all new car loans. (More OPR hike expected to tame inflation)
If you want to get a new car, Dec 2021 - March 2022 was the best time to get.

Your SA didn't help you get the best rate?

QUOTE(jeffboon97 @ Jul 11 2022, 09:22 PM)
Hi guys, may I know a 2.03% variable rate is it good in our current economy situation?
*
Do remember Maybank project 100bps hike by end 2023.
Have you include that into your cashflow projection?

Variable rate is only good if you're planning to do early settlement in the future.

Yikes, the 100 bps increases in 2024 will be 3.03%, maybank offers 2.45% fixed rate. Not sure if variable rate I can make extra payment to reduce the interest?
*
You only take variable if you can make extra payments here and then, as the interest is calculated on the balance owed.
For flat rate, do read up on the rule of 78. If you the kind that prefer to stick to the payment schedule, then better take flat rate.
