09:50 The manager says Chris Smalling is doubtful for Sunday's game at Spurs after his head injury on international duty but he'll be checked tomorrow. Tom Cleverley and Antonio Valencia are definitely ruled out but Michael Owen is back in training. Wayne Rooney returns after his throat infection.

Just forgot England, they won't appreciate you. Their loss is United gain!!!

Xavi will compliment carrick rclxms.gif

The problem with england:
1) Leave out scholesy at left wing to accomodate the so called great gerrard and lampard.
Outcome: failed

2) Leave out carrick for barry & gerrard combo
Outcome: failed

If i was pearcy, i'll put carrick + scholes combo. Why? Coz we won 4 epl, 1 ucl, 2 times finalist ucl, world club cup champs.

what can you say, England team has bunch of greedy players that are after their own personal glory, since they didn't get the glory at their club biggrin.gif

scholes has his own sincere comments about this

after all, SAF and United that's benefited from this biggrin.gif

pity kids don't have a patience to wait for first team. It's not that long until he got regular base for first team

If those kids wanna leave, then by all means go ahead. Why would the team bend over backwards to keep them? The fact that they are already thinking of leaving already fails one big criteria to be a Man Utd player: "Willingness to wait for their chance because of passion to the club".

Sir Alex to assess stars

Sir Alex Ferguson will assess his international players over the weekend before finalising his line-up for Sunday's match at Tottenham.

Javier Hernandez's exertions with Mexico in the United States, during a 2-0 defeat to Colombia, could place some doubt over whether he'll start at White Hart Lane but another striker, Danny Welbeck, was also heavily involved in England's 3-2 loss to Holland.

"Chicharito's match in Miami kicked off at 1am our time on Thursday morning so we'll have to see what he's like when he gets back," Sir Alex told MUTV. "He's got another day [to recover] on Saturday which is good news but he will still have played four games in 10 days so it's quite a task for the lad.

"Danny Welbeck played almost the full game for England too, Nani played 80 minutes for Portugal and Ashley Young had a full game. Jonny Evans played for Northern Ireland so there were quite a few in action on Wednesday but we have the extra day's recovery as we're playing on Sunday so that helps us."

The manager has also revealed that he expects Antonio Valencia to be back within two weeks while Tom Cleverley is about a week away from fitness after sustaining an ankle injury. Michael Owen is also back in training and hoping to make an impact as the season reaches its critical phase.

"Michael has had very good preparation," added Sir Alex. "He's done a lot of work with the physios and is ready to join us. It's good news. I hope he has a bit of luck. He needs that as he's not had a lot."

However, Sir Alex denied that goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has returned to full training, shooting down some reports that emerged this week.
