well i just bring my cigars from my own stash(buy online) at about $8-15 a stick. if you buy it from that place might be about 3 times the price. some cigar lounges dont allow bringing personal stash tho.

drinks im not sure i only had coffee at $10 a cup inc tax. the ambient is quite nice with live acoustic band

Oh.. Typical SG work scenario ... Too serious.

So can talk about JB here?.

Those who plan to come over to work need info on SG rules, Renting room, telco, transport, bank account, place to eat etc to fit in this new environment. I don't see these living in SG info as useless or irrelevant but I am not the mod.

If that's mod wish then I will move over.

Thanks Lester for the thread.

it is important to compare... msian KFC n sg KFC... msian kfc taste better i agree but you have to risk eating dirtily prepared chicken or kena hantam at... sg kfc employees are so well behaved and obedient.. and some of them are polite too...

China fresh grad earn about 2000 yuan. With 1 :5 currentcy exchange, a prc work in KfC earn mire and save more compare to china fresh grad.

Ours is 1 : 2.4 while theirs is 1:5, if local and PR don't take up the jobs then many prc will be happy to grab that jobs.

If you do find that out, let me know. I am also searching high and low for those cameras but so far no avail. The nearest I got to Jb is the Plus Highway camera.

I know bedok a lot of dentist, dunno the pricing. I did one near block 65 Bedok. But the charge for first time consultation. Sotal about $100+ for first time and scalling.

Yesterday I did mine in 108 hougang ave 1, near my house. Can take direct bus from bedok. Scalling $55 to $75. He charge me $75 cos he say mine is super dirty sweat.gif

Anyway, Bedok should have many if u google. If you find somewhere below $60 is considered cheap. Above $100 is expensive. Unless u have "specific needs"

Cos we get allocated fixed sum per year to spend on dental and doctor fees (that is not covered under the major sickness/injury stuff). If exceed this amount then cannot claim liao ... so ... kenot simply do scaling every week biggrin.gif

Does that includes professionals, or he is jx referring to low income worker, like construction worker, restaurant worker, etc etc..

I only read the earlier part of the budget. He was jx refering to low income worker, increasing technology usage to reduce labour usage, hiring partime housemaker for sake sushi part timers, hiring old age ppl.

But dun think the idea is to reduce professionals. ANyway, in terms of reducing professional migrators, market forces is doing their job already.

Tat being said, I do think quota wise is dwindling, slightly for higher income, but significantly on lower incoe workers. Nothing new compare to last year.

get umobile prepaid number, then sign for the RM28 plan with the prepaid number. Umobile coverage is quite good in JB. and also when u bring that phone to SG, you don't need to pay roaming charges since they have partnership with Starhub.

Because my employer is still malaysia, i'm sold as manpower to the project, hence the project besides paying my employer for rental of me, they also have to provide housing and pda. sometimes they find housing themselves you just stay, sometimes they give you cash you go find yourself, and here we give money but not in cash and you max is this.

Guys, a fren of mine wanted to let go his whole unit (i think one bedroom, can't remember) rented house in Chinatown. Monthly rental is $1450 only.
For those working in town, its very near.
The downside is its near construction and the area is indeed CHINATOWN.
So let me know if you interested to take over.

Hello friends!

I would like to know the comparison between various 3G speeds in the West coast area.

I have Starhub 3G and I can't get a decent 3G connection in my residence near Haw Par Villa there.. 3G doesn't work indoors. Thinking of jumping to the red pipe/orange pipe but leaning towards the orange pipe due to the per-second billing.

Work area will be Tuas and so far 3G speeds there not much of a problem.

Sorry to said, there's no cheap rental in Singapore. Unless you have relative here and stay with them. housing near Harbour Front, Telok Blangah, Tanjong Pagar, Tiong Bahru and Red Hill.

Assuming you work for 8 hours a day, 7 days a week = 224 hours

1 hour about $7

Sort of low, teenage part timers are getting $6-$8 depending on the "class"

Unless they provide hostel, food and transport, or else the pay is kinda low

Hi, can anyone pls recommend/offer me a place to stay in sg? I'm going to start working in Dec and now am seeking for a room to rent. My company is located at tuas bay link (Biomedical park to be precise). My budget is around 350SGD/month, don't mind sharing room as long as the roommate has no weird habit and is hygienic. I need only 3 things provided: internet, water heater and washing machine than I can live happily. Your help is much appreciated. TQ friends.

no one would wanna share room with a total stranger, so it's hard for you to find a room partner. Suggest you rent the room alone 1st.

Hi all can anyone suggest me whether to stay in jb or sg? I have to move out from my room now as the owner no give me permission to pray (im muslim) inside the room.

Currently i stay with 3 other roommates because my budget is around $400 only. Anyone need a roommate? I work in raffles so nearby location would be preferable. Im staying in paya lebar now. Will stay at backpackers until weekend. Do contact me if anyone wanna share a room or you know any people in need a room / roommate with $350-#400 budget.

Thanks

Well consider food alone is around 450sgd. given ur bfast is below 4sgd, lunch os 7sgd, and dinner around 5sgd and below.
Utilities that depends. If the rent is 700sgd and below , also include the utilities, that's good enough.
Mobile phone, please use prepaid if ur looking around only 50 dollar per month. Mrt fare is around 50-100. Depends where you heading and where you work from your home.
Total is 1,300sgd. He still have 500sgd to play.

Singapore shopping mall always crowded one.
Last time went to Jurong West shopping mall
The walkway crowded with people, must very careful to avoid 'langgar' other people. sometime you just have to u-turn back and walk to other ways ...

normally life can be very easy in sg (dont go clubbing and fine dining)

rental for single - SGD500
transport bus and mrt - SGD100-200
makan makan - SGD400-500 per month (daily SGD10) weekend maybe more

you can actually save around 800 >

800 x 2.45 = RM1960

i've tried this before

mrt+ phone = sgd100

food and drinks = sgd210 ( 7sgd per day )

assuming weekend also i spend sgd7 per day for food and dun go club or wayang or wateva entertainment.

rent = sgd600 all in.

walaoweh total = 910sgd.

if put his budget

he save sgd890.

that's RM2,225.00.

this one is just a mere try out. i can live like that since my office is only 10 minutes from my house. and then during weekend, i can simply buy food around my home area, without taking any public transport. smile.gif

Planning to go JB for a night outing. Just wondering is "the zon" safe?
I heard it's great there....but...what about safety?

Fights, robbery? sad.gif sad.gif

I know this is stupid...wan go play but scared....

Sorry if I offend anyone for thinking JB is really scary...heard too much saw too much blink.gif

Please stay at where you are. Don't come to JB.

Like you said, heard too much, saw too much.

I've been staying here for almost 2 years, cannot tell you it is completely safe to come. Nowhere is safe.

Foreigner can buy private condo in singapore too. But need to pay higher tax at 15% of the property price. In cash. And 20% down payment in cash too.
