No thanks, I wont return to this game, as it is just another game that is designed to encourage you to pay up once you start playing. Thats what the creators of Hawken said in a F2P conference. I do not mind paying, as long as the prices for the items are reasonably priced, where the way Hawken priced the items is just absurd. Even some new unlocks or cosmetic stuff cost way too much for barely anything. This game is not designed to be value for money.

Gameplay wise isnt that amazing anyway.

So, no thanks, I'll go back to Tribes Ascend or Dota 2.

South Asia servers are quite full at nights too.

you're just another game basher that thinks a level 1 mech would most def lose to a level 25 mech. i'm just going to say this once more. I'm able to pawn you with a level 1 mech no matter which mech you use because player skill is the cap, not items or internals in THIS GAME. i dare you to accept this challenge, if not, do not say things such as it's a P2W game.

I hate the fact that this game doesn't allow you to easily party with friends to find matches. We'll have to try and coordinate together to find a match if we want to play together. Btw, this was a month ago.

Also hate that the customization on the mechs are minimal (As a free player).

Yeah the visual & style customization. Nearly all of the mechs look identical to one another, especially when everyone is using the same versatile Recruit mech.

Hawken.. Fun game. Its really nice. However only thing that totally a downturner is the 1 sided matches

You know where 1 side is the experience team players and the other is the PUG.(pick up group) Which the game end up where everywhere u go u just end up being gang up by 2-3 mechs in most fights.



How does this works? I got a feeling i gonna look like a complete noob later. IIRC hawken dont have private 1 vs 1 match do they?

I dont bash games with no reasons behind but I am skeptical or even cynical with a lot of new games due to the way of the game industry works. No doubt Hawken is a pretty fun game, even though there are some issues with the gameplay.

I never said the game to be P2W, but the game is not designed to be value for money or cosmetic only. Considering how pricey is the in game items, I will never return to the game. There is no reason where a game's custom skin cost a bomb.

you can paint your mech different colour.. COD also what, everyone looks the same

yea they're in the midst of improving matchmaking. you can have 1v1 matches in deathmatch

the only thing that can't be bought with free credits is mech skins, visual-parts. i.e. pay-to-look-nice. so if that doesn't suit you then dont play. you're not forced to purchase the optional visual enhancements. just that when Hawken introduces this concept of pay-to-look-nice, people start complaining that it's not worth their money. yea it's not worth your money but it doesn't affect how we play the game right? same with COD, LoL, DotA, CS, TF2, everyone looks the same and no one complains.

Sure you are not forced to buy cosmetic parts, but how about getting new mechs? You either grind hours and hours for it, where evidently, no one wants to grind 5 hours for a small upgrade or 20 hours for a new gun in Tribes.

The whole idea of putting a long waiting time before getting any reward is a huge turn off. Not to forget that ugly mech you get when you first start playing, where it feels like they deliberately give you a terrible looking mech so that you spend money to make it look better or just pay to skip the grind for more mechs to choose. This supports my theory that they designed the game so that you spend money on it.

Did Dota 2 have any paid only heroes? No, it doesnt, and the only paid stuff are tournament tickets, skins or voice packs. Thats how free to play should have been, not tempting people to spend money on actual upgrades or just let them grind on hours end for an upgrade.

Lastly, if you had enjoyed the game, good for you. Dont have to defend a game religiously.

jan to feb betai had bad lags in terms of connection and framerates.

its getting better. now with technician mech and more maps.

Except Multiplayer, Front Mission give you complete Super Mech Driver Experience. And its cost lost cheaper.

yup, but changed to open beta edi.
They gameplay is consider smooth and balanced although i got high ping (200~300)

sounds good, the latency i had is the issue.
My previous play spikes between 300~500ms, render it unplayable + unstable graphics optimization.
still havnt try with my new gpu though.

300ms is acceptable, but often ball breaker. Above 350ms ping i'm leaving the game, i have medium hopes for this game eventhough the F2P Micro crap.

micro crap is mostly for costume purpose
I would rather play longer for weapon upgrads lol.

The starting mech (CT recruit) also not bad.....i can achieve 11 killing streak without dying.
