Why format via PC?

Under setting -> storage -> erase SD card will work just fine.
Why bother formatting via PC?

Formatting via PC has a lot of variables.

Formatting via the phone itself can allow you to do apps2ext with less potential problems.

Not that it matters on the S2 since there is 1+gb of user space for apps. But on small capacity phones it becomes an issue.

Btw, if you needed estimated times, I formatted a 8gb class 2 SD card and it took less than a min.

So 45min is rather long, not to mention your phone shouldn't reboot since when it does the USB connection is broken and the formatting stops.

You can set 1 at a time using setCPU to test.
No need to 'guess' the values.

Usually -25mV for the highest.
Then -50mV for all until 400mhz
400mhz -75mV or -100mV
200mhz -125mV

For each step, do a stress test in set CPU.

Before you do a stress test, 'untick' everything else so that the CPU is running only at that clock speed, then stress it. If it can go 5min or so without error. Do the same thing for the next step.

Shouldn't take you very long.

If it crashes, increase the voltage.

You enabled 100mhz?
I didn't even bother with that step. haha

Well, doing the stress test is the only way to know if the cpu is stable @ that clock speed using that voltage.

It runs less hot when UV.
For the sgs2 I didn't bother, for the sgs yes I do UV @ OC it for better battery and responsiveness.

This i agree which is why i decrease voltage a little. But i dun see a need for aggresive UV.

I personally do not like aggressive UV though for stability reasons anyway.

And...

Increase voltage when OCing? I can already smell some fried silicon chips.

Superbuy only got G version.

you can try maxis outlets. Their spec sheet says indicates its the exynos SoC. tongue.gif

But whether it's 'cut and paste' or really its the non G I have no idea.

@Johnkor , lol?
What's wrong? As far as I know, the galaxy S2 is one of the easier phones to tinker around with.

johnkor, the only suggestion I can make is to download a stock ROM from elsewhere and flash via ODIN.

Flashing via kies isn't the best idea.

update: Few hours ago I posted about my 3 years old cousin accidently bought Bunny Shooter Deluxe Pack for $19.99.

The company already refunded the payment. Thanks god. I deleted the app by using TB  biggrin.gif

It's good the devs are good in that sense.

Anyway, there are apps that can limit which app has access to internet connection.

It's built into MIUI but I think i saw it under "App manager" from market as well.

Go find a stock rom and flash using ODIN. And what carrier are you on?

He's talking about replacing the phone's enclosure.
Doing so will void warranty if you're wondering.

normaron, what's your budget?
Authentic/genuine hybrids are quite expensive.

But if you happen to walk around I'm sure you can find dodgy knockoffs.

But I found before a non-knock off hybrid for around RM30.

Didn't buy it but my friend bought it as he didn't want to spend a lot on casemate tough.

Tell us what you are doing with it, with what kernel, ROM etc.

Giving us that statement is like telling us:

3 hours after pumping petrol, my car is out of fuel.

My 3G is on when I am out of home in office.

What rom, kernel etc are you using? -.-'

How strong is the 3G signal at your area?

Define 'light surfing', how many hours? Minutes?
Approximately how many SMS a day?
How many minutes of calls?

Drop to what %? Start using from what time?
