so now they got DVD/ navi to be installed by the centres. so i suppose by getting that, our civics will be more or less like the navi variant.

what this dvd/navi does? got back camera like the navi variant? official product? or it just aftermarket product being installed by the technicians just to avoid any warranty issue afterwards?

Even if void warranty, it will only void the audio portion, which is really no big deal. The mods you want to worry is anything that piggyback or related to the engine, those they can simply find something to say because of bad installation, the engine die or something.
*
i mean theres someone here said about the navi they can install without voiding warranty. if its true then i want to know what is the unit and what it does. but if there is and that not void warranty is true and it cost less than 5k, then Honda Malaysia is sort of shooting itself on the foot

the navi variant is somehow becoming a blunder. havent see much navi on the road (got to peek real close to check on the touchscreen, sometimes it get a bit embarassing to be honest) but 1.8L is many. i guess 1.8 is still the daddy. flex.gif

That's pretty good, my first gen vios only traded in for 56k back in 2008. After bank repayment, I was only left with 32k. It was also a 3 year old car with 67k mileage.

Did you take a short loan with the 09 city?
*
nope. near 70 is the selling price. well near 70 is not like 69. 67 or 68 also near 70 what. hehe
minus the bank balance, got somemore for civic DP.
the only problem with it was the milage.
but everything else was stock standard and i would say as good as new.
well not that good as new, but i did look after it quite well
it look after me well so i thought why not i look after it well. great little car. great servant to me and the family.
now i got emotional. tsk. tsk.

so far so good the civic. but i think the paint a bit ... soft? i mean the other day i wasnt so lucky got stone bounce off the hood during commuting to work and there was one spot colour pierced off. and by accident, i harshly open the door and it hit something and the paint peeled off.

did my 1k check just few hours ago
now mileage stand at 1350km give and take
the service people dont really get the memo on 10k km service interval, instead i turned informer telling them its no longer 5k
and the type of oil also they dont know use mineral or full synthetic

that guy told me use mineral even 10k km interval. he said the system now can withstand longer even with lowest grade oil. i think he just try his luck.

why paultan never care to explain taxes on cars been reduced since 2006? and they continuously disregard this fact. but now they are coming full blast on a campaign by a political party? i am not interested in politics but i have to ask.

is there something going on with paultan and the political world?

they may argue about wanting to educate the public, but they never say a word about the reduction of car taxes since almost half a decade ago. so why now they are 'interested' again? politic does strange things, does it. but nevermind, it is paultan's prerogative but i would love it if they just state their stand on politics. because it is easier to deal a devil u know, rather than the one u dont know.

the public should know something about profit earnings by the dealers. find it. then u know why despite the car taxes down but the prices still not going down. it is very interesting fact. and u know the reason car prices still high, is apolitical. perhaps the people should bark at the right tree from now on.

but if u still want to bang on it on the government, then your reason of doing so is not about high car prices. its because u want to, regardless of any reason.

So anyone here tested the 0-100kmh with paddleshifters yet hehehe. Still mentally scarred from what the salesguy told me when it first launched...13 secs for the 2.0L! Friggin hell man, n i still went ahead to book it  blink.gif

BTW, salesguy also told me i have to pay RM360 for the number i wanted, provided its not too obvious like 8888. Is this consistent with you guys here? Too bad salesperson was not a chick or a hot chick, otherwise i would just pay...damn in hindsight how can i think of car first
*
if u do urself, it cost less. something like 200 plus.
all u got to do is go check the numbers, fill one document, send it over the counter. done. and wait for few days to know u got the number or not.
but for people dont have time, pay also no problem

the paddle shifter is fun but due to good NVH i often hit the limiter. then only i realise it overshoot the torque window. hurmm..torque window. is that valid terminology? wakakakaka. but the point is, it is very quiet down there. as for the 0-100 in 13 secs, i can tell no. it is lesser than that.

Anyone tried out keyless security? After started ur car, put ur remote away and ur car will prompt that it doesn't detect the remote key...

But u still can drive. I have tried reversed my car and the engine is still running. Will the engine shut off or something? How does it work?
*
it doesnt shut off the engine.
i brought the key to pay bills for 30-50 minutes with someone in the car.
tried playing with those functions in the i-Mied. still nothing.
but if the engine shut off and the key isnt around, then u cant start it up again

*
moved the car around the house compound once, i was washing it
no it didnt shut off the engine.

so now u know this thing with keyless system, be extra careful from now
shut off the engine whenever u want to go out and bring the key with you all the time!

no change of oil, just overall inspection...fluid level, tire pressure....
I just highlighted to them occasionally IMiD display "passenger airbag off" and was told it's due to light weight object ( bag or kid ) being detected at the passenger seat which do not trigger the passenger airbag ?  innocent.gif
*
i was told it is due to OPDS system. it detects object(s) nearing the location of the passenger airbags.
it didnt trigger maybe because OPDS was designed as such.

so thats another thing that hybrid has and our 2.0 doesnt. u can lock it manually with that little button on the driver side. and it will unlock itself when u open the door without having to push that unlock button (from inside of course)

i see 'DRL' as among the gauge symbols on the meter cluster. is this means at the electronic control box there is connection for DRL? and where exactly civic market in the world got DRL as standard?

That's intended. When shift from D to S u need to activate the so called full paddle shifting mode by either up shift or down shift once with the paddle shifters.
*
when u engage S mode without physically activate the paddle, it still shift up itself but only to the third gear.
and it will shift to fourth only at 140kmh. just like city.

god knows what speed it is when it engages the final gear.

the other function many dont know - quite sure about it - is the cruise control cannot engaged at speed below 42kmh. u will need 42 kmh atleast to use that cruise control function.

i love these little facts. if, and i say if, we ever go big TT, we should be having quiz session among ourselves and surely i am going to ask these little facts!

But bro, my city doesn't shift up or down wor if I change from D to S...hmmm
*
dont really get it. dont quite understand what u meant.

but heres the thing

1) shifting from D to S on the fly
regardless of what gear u are in D mode, if u shift it to S on the fly, it goes down to third. but still no indication on the M display. from where i know it is 3rd? u engage + or - on the paddle, the M display indicates 2nd or 4th.

2)D mode all the way
it becomes normal automatic. however if u play with the paddle u still able to change the gears but momentarily. sometimes it doesnt serve any purpose at all. for example, u are hoping to overtake a car. u are in D mode. u shift down by clicking the - paddle. the car drops a gear, then u accelerate.

sometimes, the gear shift up jussstttttt after a bit acceleration. perhaps the computer detects gear shift signal or whatever. i often had this problem with my city. going up hill i thought better shift down a gear, but then it went back to the gear i was dropping from, just with a little acceleration.

but nevermind, the point is, under D mode, u can play the paddle shifters but not too freely.

3) S mode all the way.
u started your journey with in the S mode. u didnt touch the paddle at all. the car moves, just like normal D mode, but with a bit of urgency. a bit good sound track as well. u accelerate, again without playing the paddle shifters. however, the automatic gearing under S mode ( remember u didnt even once click the paddle shifters ) only until 3 rd under normal speed. to engage 4th gear ( s mode, not touch the paddle shifter at all from beginning engage S mode ) the car need at least 140kmh.

god knows what the speed it needs to engage the final gear under this circumstance.

i hope this enlight whoever concern

You sure you are not misleading bro? Regarding the S mode?

S mode = O/D off, means 1st to 3rd gear only, and it won't upshift itself even until redline on 3rd gear, you will need to engage 4th on own using paddle shift.

I have both City, Civic FD at home... And I know this too well.

Try it.
*
i read the comment for quite a few times. just to make sure.

nope. i didnt misleading on that S mode. infact u just repeating what i mentioned.
my city last time engaged to 4th gear at speed of 140kmh - give and take (without me touching the paddle shift at all, under S mode)

at first i thought the sensor sense the rpm going high and all, but so many times done countless experiments with my 09 city, and atleast TWICE i did with the new FB3, then i can confirm it will engage 4th gear at that speed - upshift by itself, under S mode, not using paddle shifters.

infact i did it again on the way back from a few kenduri this afternoon.

anytime we can try.together. <--- this cud be the first TT session icon_rolleyes.gif
