I have a budget Asus A42F. In the first place I chose Asus over any other brands because of good review of the quality. However, my nightmare began right after the first three month of ownership. The LCD screen cracked without warning. I didn't even know how it happened, and I brought it to service centre at JB. Obviously the answer was no and it was blamed to be improper handling of the unit, regardless my innocent explanation to them. However what had pissed me off was the 'advice' of the technician that it was suggested to use it only at home. What a joke? A notebook can only be used at home? C'mon I am using it and I am not going to be the slave of it.
Since then, problems just came after one another. Adapter dead (accusation: improper use of adapter), fan blades snapped (human factor because unknown insect stuck inside), hard disk dead (improper handling), motherboard won't boot up (they refused to repair because I didn't opt for Asus paid service to replace the fan).
I swear Asus will never appear in my list, FOREVER. Bad quality to the max and really shame on you, Asus. May you be gone forever.
