Update : Overheated again. BUT. coolant level remained the same, so I'm guessing that just maybe, the coolant is not enough. Tomorrow continue monitoring...

smell is the least of your concern. easy to overheat means very easy to Brake Fade.

can say engine more quiet than Esso. When revving till 5,500 at KESAS just now can hear my supercharger CVT whining sound only.

Current gen Honda Civic first batch also got problem and those problem are only rectified 3 years later, after numerous complains and some even korek dompet to replace the faulty part. And that faulty part isn't cheap. It costs four figures.

Brake fade meaning less efficient right ? ..
I saw sometimes car going down the hill with their brake pads with smells and worse smoke coming out non stop ..

brake fade is a situation where you lose all braking force completely eventhough the brake pedal is fully pressed.

use bendix metalking for less fade...im using ..quite good but lots of powder...and sometimes in morning abit noisy..but stopping power is satisfiying

so...just aware for coolant
and...u may check ur radiator fan izit running?
