Hi guys/girls/sifu/taiko icon_rolleyes.gif

Just went to book Saga FLX 1.6se last week.

Currently the demand for the red color is high, so must wait a little bit. Was told if book the solid white, can get within 1 or 2 week time. But I prefer the red one... beauty is in the eye of the beholder thumbup.gif

Just registered few days ago and drop by this thread to say "hello" to all of you & hope you guys can welcome me in this forum smile.gif

Hope to be part of this "saga family" with all of you nod.gif

PS: will update on my avatar soon...

Yeah.. before this I went through lots of websites & forums to learn more about this autofoam. hmm.gif

Wonder if we have someone who did this before in their saga & can share their experience here as well thumbup.gif

Thanks a lot for the link! I'll be sure to go through the website as well biggrin.gif

gather as much info to prepare for my saga. currently using perdana v6. But the FC & maintenance cost is getting high... its a 12 years old car, so wear & tear does take its toll on the car...

ride already harsh enough

if the autofoam is done too much, then sitting in a pick up truck is more comforting than in the Saga FLX.
*
maybe I'll just do the additional soundproofing & left the autofoam option.

I am not worry much regarding safety issues as I did an experiment during my studies using different foam as a core member in a hollow steel/carbon fibre tubing. The foam really absorbs the impact energy and also vibrations after certain tests.

What I am worry about autofoam is that the ride would be a little harder & the repair cost ---> (No experience in this) hmm.gif

Hi guys,

I'm thinking to buy new Saga. Need your opinion to chose which model 1.6 or 1.3?
This car will be used for daily commute for 60km.
Biweekly for balik kampung for 200km and carry a baby and a adult.
*
I vote 1.6 thumbup.gif
Visit a proton dealer & test ride both models. flex.gif

For lower edge, between the clear lamp covers and the bumper....in the gap?
For upper edge, between the clear lamp covers and the headlamp housing....
For sides, between clear lamp covers and fender...
Cut the sealant tube nozzle head to fit the gap to seal...

1 tube of Bostik clear silicone sealant leaves a lot of leftovers for future use... tongue.gif

I did almost the same thing my old car. so far so good smile.gif

Test shocks...if still good, mayb change springs first...as rec by Bro V12K...

If budget no prob, then change both springs & shocks.
Try replace with those for FLX?
Seems stiffer & more solid support for 15" stock rims & tyres.  rolleyes.gif
*
I am looking at the possibility to change to a 16" rim or even 17" (the sport rim I put at my mom's car... LOL laugh.gif )

will Koni suspension be a good match to the rim? I am looking for a comfort ride

how much will strut bar and anti roll bar cost for flx?
*
I called a dealer & this is what he quotes to me (including installation):

Front Strut Bars - rm130
Front Lower Bars - rm230
Rear Lower Bar - rm140
ARB - rm360
Fender Bars - rm280

The price can still be "negotiated" icon_rolleyes.gif

For me, I want to make my ride more comfortable, as my wife is pregnant.

I planned to:

1. Install Front strut bar, front lower strut bar & rear lower bars --> to improve handling a bit.
2. Soundproofing such as on the wheel arch, floor, doors, bonnet, using dynamat or other similiar options (No chassis foaming --> a bit scared of the side effect)
3. Maybe change to 16" or 17" (kinda love the 17" size rim)
4. Changed absorber & spring --> Sachs, Well
5. Open to any suggestions

This is what I planned. But I'm really open to any suggestion & advises thumbup.gif

and change to softer tires like conti CC5

Truth be told, FLX isn't renowed for its comfortable ride so its just the matter of getting used to it. So if you wanna do handling mods, wait after your wife bertelursalin first. smile.gif

B4 I got my NEW Saga, I was also contemplating a USED City, Vios and even an Accord...my "Dream" car? blush.gif
However, after consulting ppl arnd me, I was strongly advised against doing so...
I even hv a close relative who got a USED Accord instead of a NEW City (at abt the same price)...He got BURNT badly...in its 3rd year!! doh.gif

So the choice is alwaz OURS....
Juz be happy with our decision & accept what comes with it...
Hv a nice wkend!! rclxms.gif notworthy.gif

NB. Buying a car...any car...is NOT an investment...
It's a LOSS! Juz do some calculations.... blush.gif

Yup, in this case Proton is NOT 2b blamed....nor the cause of it...  rolleyes.gif

Bro Eric, we feel for yu but pls...pls...keep a cool head, ok?
As our Bro here says..."....have your back."

And after all, this is a Proton BLM thread...AND yu are its TS.... whistling.gif

I am totally agree with your statement, "Juz be happy with our decision & accept what comes with it..."

My current car is year 2000 Perdana V6. Even though many of my relatives/friend said it will have lots of problem such as gearbox & stuffs, but it never occured. I really took good care of my V6. Just one time I need to do top overhaul. Just that.

I am very happy with my V6 & it has serve me well for these years. But maybe its time to say goodbye coz I've got the FLX.

Proton will be Proton, just we need to take really good care of our ride. Love it more & it will serve us better thumbup.gif
