Hi guys. My husband and I are also looking at retiring in Melaka....well, not for another 15 - 20 years We are currently working abroad and only return to Malaysia once a year for a short visit. We are thinking about getting the resort home like A Famosa villa so that we could lease back to Management in order to ensure the place will not be left vacant without any care for years. I didn't see very good review on the A Famosa resort on tripsadvisor though and it seems there are quite a few people trying to sell the place as well. Is there any similar place that you guys could suggest. Where in Melaka is considered a good neighbourhood.....where we could buy a house and perhaps turn it into a holiday rental place? Thanks.

No it isn't, there's no more free hold properties around Melaka town. So far only those lousy locations are free hold  , my current house ( Semabok Perdana ) is lease hold as well

True to the point, lease hold or free hold doesnt matter to me since I am buying for my own stay

haha I second that. During the property show, they don't  even bother me. I stood there look around and wanted ask them something and in the end waited for like 10 minutes until one of them came to entertain me while they prefer chatting among themselves.     maybe I wore like a wtfbbq ppl giving bad impression.
