QUOTE(madmoz @ Feb 15 2012, 08:28 AM)
Blatant handball on goal line.
Unrepentant statement in the media.

That's all I need to know really.
You know, we had a real chance of coming out of this smelling like roses before Suarez decided on his u-turn. Up until then, I believe that the public still symphatised with Suarez and felt deep down that he was hard done by the FA and that Evra had manipulated the whole situation. Be the better man, shake the b@st@rd's hand and apologize to the public (sorry for misunderstanding, sorry for damaging club, England is a lovely country, the EPL rules, will strive to improve and win things for the club blah x 3) and come away as the lovable idiot. Evra then looks like the ass that he is. The FA will look like overbearing overeacting fools. Sigh.

I am all for honesty and wearing your heart on your sleeve and all, but just as we had to revamp our archaic approach to merchandising and branding, we also need to learn how to manage people's perception of us.

As for my opinions on selling Stevie me, you can ask the rest of the forumers here. It was a very hot topic right before the G&H era imploded  rclxub.gif
*
In a sense, we need to be hypocrites so that we manage perception?

Looks like the spirit of Liverpool FC is slowly dying........................

Smells like Msia Bolih spirit...........

QUOTE(madmoz @ Feb 15 2012, 09:20 AM)
Being hypocritical is when you starfish and then go to the media berating 'foreigners' of going down to easily.
Being hypocritical is when you laugh and joke about the failings of other team's player but try to defend the indefensible when one of our own is involved.

There is nothing hypocritical imho when it comes to expecting a higher moral standard / code of conduct amongst our own players. It is about signing players who fit 'the Liverpool way'. Many objected and balked at the though of signing C.Ronaldo (whom we called a blatant diving cheat) but then rejoiced when we signed Suarez? That's hypocritical if you ask me.

Some would argue that the Liverpool spirit died the day we were sold to G&H. I would prefer to see it as although we must be managed and run as a profit based business, we can still retain our core values of integrity, togetherness and camaraderie. And like in any other business, every decision made must have had its costs and benefits taken into consideration.

While i agree with that, it does not expplain

how one can shaking the hand of someone whom he despises and not be Hypocrite?
ie i percieve that handshaking is showing respect.
oo that the club can be PERCIEvED to be managing people's good perception of us?
PERCIEVED to be in good standing?
ISNT presenting false perception HYPOcritical?

When there is a handball in the penalty area there is a red card and the player is thrown out of the game.

The player instinctively reacted and was thrown out of the match and he can't play the next match. What else do you want?

i would appreciate a player who wants his club/country to WIN.
He did it within the laws of the game.
The law says redcard offence.
So he was sent off.
He didnt know Ghana was gonna miss the peno.
SO?

Don't understand why the handball incident created such a negative image for Suarez. He was literally in tears when he was sent off for God's sake.

On the other hand, Thierry Henry committed a handball that (For those who have short term memory loss, France was horrible that WC and didn't deserve to qualify.) sent Ireland out of qualification. Not only he went unpunished, he pretended that it was a fair goal.

Henry returned to the Premier League 2 months ago and he's called a legend. Suarez, on the other hand, is labelled a cheat.

Go figure.

On an unrelated issue, looks like there's going to be another player revolt at Chelsea...

I wonder if this indeed spells the end of Torres' time in England? I would think that he's not been included into the 'inner circle' as yet.
*
Methinks hes hardly past the outer circle! biggrin.gif

Understand Skrtel has more goals than him this year! Or Season?

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Feb 17 2012, 10:10 AM)
It's expected that the whole of Uruguay back Suarez. They understand the cultural differences and Suarez is a national sports icon. Having said that, it says something that the president himself has voiced his support for Suarez. What's nice to see is that the Ajax fans, of which a fair number are black, are showing their support for him. So much for him being racist eh?

my bad..1btw 6million for henderson is still quite a bad bussiness..we should find a proper RM/RW instead of him...at this moment, bellamy, kuyt & maxi is the best candidate there than henderson..

I think at 21, not bad for the price. Also they are training him to take over at CM i think.
Hes not a wide midifelder for sure.

Torres is not "Judas", Meireles is! Anyway, I don't think he will return to Anfield, but who knows someday later he will go Old Toilet? Ops, I mean Old Traford la.  icon_rolleyes.gif

Torres is still good?

I keep on seeing him not able to put the ball in the back of the net. He is not the Torres of 2007/8.
*
Good for warming the cold bench........

Skrtel has scored more goals than Torres this season thus far! rclxms.gif
