Don't actually think Rafa would enjoy working under that guy ... Perez, is it?

Anyways, it's just the typical FA wanting to protect an Englishman who happens to be the captain of the country. They want him to take part in the euro 2012 finals whereas we and Suarez got f*** all. Suarez was treated like a criminal and was called a racist by everyone in the world.

The FA are so showing double-standards that its unbelievable.

I still can't understand why Terry's case is on-going since October(?) when there was evidence that he racially abused Anton Ferdinand on camera and yet Suarez's decision was made sharpish even though it was based on Evra's word alone, without any evidence.

Seeing Suarez is a foreigner (fair enough he did play in Netherlands for a handful of years), he is still a foreigner to England and he only said a word common in his country but unacceptable in England, thus, making an innocent mistake, in my opinion. As for Terry, he's a born and bred Englishman and he knows the culture in England and yet his case isn't heavily looked into.

I expect nothing less than 40,000 pounds fine and 8 games ban but it should be more because of everything I've said above.

Aiya let's just forget it and move on la. We all feel hard done by it but all our collective moaning and complaining won't change it. He served his 8 matches. Without him we dumped out City and MU. Justice has been served smile.gif. We're not too far off 4th place and Carroll has found some rhythm (I hope). Let's keep moving!

yup. We now has passed the 8 banned game for Suarez. He will be back for next match. We trough some up and down, but for last 3 games we were superb. Indeed a moral boost for the team and Suarez.

It's time to unleash our 'new signing' again smile.gif

Just because Terry is Englishman and he is important to his national squad? So can we call this as "RACIST" as well? hmm...

District Judge Howard Riddle ordered that he should stand trial in the week beginning July 9 after hearing that a number of other Chelsea players would not be able to appear as witnesses until the end of the football season.

This is preposterous. The FA made an example of Suarez quickly but not JT. If JT is not English bred and part of the core of Three Lions team, I doubt he will receive similar treatment.

Look on the bright side. Suarez ban is over. Arsenal drew yesterday. Now it is time to play catch up with Chelski. 4 pts behind with 15 games remaining. Hopefully no more dropping pts at home. If we had converted 5 out of 7 home draw into win, we would be a point behind Spurs right now. But no point dwelling the past, have to look forward. In Kenny we trust.

I agree that we should move on but I disagree that we should forget it. Why do you think big cases involving important figures are often dragged on? Same with big cases in this country involving top politicians no? It's so people forget. What happens when the same thing happens again? We just forget about it again? It is exactly what those in power want to happen, for us to forget.

Like you've just mentioned, we're still pretty well placed despite losing Suarez for 8 games and we should look forward and put his case behind us, which we have. No one is asking for a retrial here. However I feel we should remember this case and use it as precedence for relative upcoming cases. It is a matter of principle and thus, we shouldn't forget or else, what's to stop the powers that be from doing the same thing over and over again?

True, but the amount of moaning here is really detracting from the way our players have been playing in light of all the criticism we've gotten. Life gave us lemons and we made the Manchester clubs collectively drink lemonade. Torres left for trophies and we're on track for a double. Evra and the media smeared Suarez's name but Kuyt rubbed their faces in dirt.

I agree, and don't get me wrong, I feel extremely hard done by the Suarez case. But I also believe in karma, and should Terry be exonerated, I think Kenny will have something to say about that. And don't forget, the move to move the trial was done by a judge, not the FA. I know it stinks of double standards, but we can't say for sure that they wouldn't do the same if Suarez's case was elevated to a court case right?

The moaning isn't about the injustice done to Suarez I believe. It's to do with the double standards practiced by the FA or in this case, the English. If there are no calls for consistency and everyone remains silent, there's no pressure on the FA to practice equality.

I did not forget that the trial was moved by the court. That fact that it is makes things worse. Ask any lawyer if a case was ever moved to suit the schedule of witnesses. Should they only be in session after work hours then from now on? If you are called you get called up to court, you show up, end off. Now courts make concessions for footballers simply because they aren't free? What kinda BS is that.

The FA weren't involved in that decision of course (or at least I don't think they were) but since they're taking racism so seriously, why not plead with the courts to deal with the case immediately to resolve this issue and force the relevant clubs and players to make time for the hearing? Give Chelsea a week off la and have them play at a later date.

Added on February 2, 2012, 12:00 pmI've constantly urged everyone to stop reacting based on weekly results and to focus on the bigger picture. Time and time again, I see posters asking why we didn't buy this player or why we aren't spending? If you think it's all doom and gloom and what I've been posting is rubbish, do have a read please.

You have a point there about double standards. The way I see it, the FA is keen to wash its hands off the situation. Having dealt with the Suarez issue so swiftly and equally swiftly pawned Terry off to the courts, they have their hands free now to focus on whatever else they wanna do, and the same time avoid playing the villain for sending Terry to the gallows. Suarez was never a popular figure to begin with, and all the FA had to worry about was backlash from Liverpool supporters, who by calling for consistency and proper judgment have been made to look like racists and hooligans by ignorant fools like Powar.

As for the courts shifting the date, I think considering such a high profile figure they really have no choice but to do so in anticipation of questions from the public as to whether all relevant people had been interviewed etc. They have to tread lightly and carefully here as compared to the FA, these guys have to worry about Chelsea fans, QPR fans and the whole of England. This is probably the reason behind the change. The courts probably fear possible backlash and feel they have to give the case their due diligence.

These are just my opinions of course, and there are pretty clear double standards here. It's all about the profile of the people involved and the magnitude of the potential backlash. It has never been about fairness.

this is a nice read:-

http://www.chelseadaft.org/2012/02/torres-...-its-going.html?

The link is for our former number 9. I am still a big fan and it highlights some of the problems from our own as well. They play Torres expecting him to be somebody else and we play Carroll the same way we play Torres thinking Carroll would emulate him. These 2 players in my opinion are played out of their depth but hey, it's just my opinion but it does explain the lack of goals coming from either of them no?

Watch the 81 goals that was scored for us. To me, if Bellamy can U-turn and be a player for LFC, why can't Torres? But that is wishful thinking blush.gif

Peace out! YNWA!

i think most of us already knew why he can't be a goal scoring machine there...torres is not the type of striker that wants to receive a pass while his back is facing the goal...
